What a cute little place! We got poutine. It was delicious and not overpriced like most other places. ($7.50) Cozy little bar to eat at. Employees were friendly and genuinely happy to see you.

Must stop!!! Get the beans and dogs. Chili cheese fries also to sample the chili. Nice touch buttered white bread with beans.

Great place. Food is very good. But while i was ordering i asked if the women wouldn't make cheese soup out of my hot dog when she adds cheese. ( its just the way i wanted my hot dogs and thought she would want to know how i wanted them) nope i was told not to tell her how to do her job. I was not! You asked me how i wanted them. Never going back she was rude

Cool little diner in the heart of Portsmouth, New Hampshire. The double hamburger and fries were off the charts!!! Credit/debit cards are accepted.

This small 8 stool diner is absolutely amazing! My husband and I ate late night (our first time ever) and was greeted by Arlene with a smile who then took our order and then cooked it! We had double cheese burgers add bacon with “everything” , Poutine (was super cheesy and delicious without being soggy) and the chili cheese fries (full of flavor!). Really enjoyed the history and overall vibe of the place. Will definitely be back to check out with our kids :) Picnic Table’s are set outside when the weather gets nice adding more room for service. Take out available but can not call ahead and no delivery services which is understandable for place this size.

Come here once every two weeks and get two doubles with everything a poutine and baked beans and eat every last bite. I don't eat like that regularly but gilley's is THAT PLACE. Condolences to one of the owners in talking with your polite and amazing staff we heard of your loss and we wish you warmth and ease with time to come. We love coming here I have 0 complaints and nothing but great things to say about this place I recommend it all the time.

Usual meal for two when we go
Me: two doubles with everything poutine and beans like I mentioned.
Gf: double cheese with select toppings and poutine
Altogether about $44 flat I like to tip them well so I won't include that in the price.
(Side note I've had things like the cheesy steak here and I won't lie it hits amazing better probably with a beer or two in you so take it home and heat it in the air fryer for 3 minutes while you grab a beer or two, thank me later.)

This is a great place to eat day or night. As far as the reviews on racism that’s just ridiculous. Steve and his wife are great people and very kind. There is the one lady in there that comes off kind of brash but at the end of the day you try constantly serving the town drunks and unruly people

Randomly stumbled upon this place looking for food late at night. It's exactly what it looks like, and serves delicious greasy burgers and dogs. The fries are nothing to write home about, but the burgers are spot on, and the grilled cheese with chopped up beef in it is probably the best.

This place is an icon. Great place for Burgers, dogs, and fries. Very old school......and I like that a lot! Historical place with an old school dway of business.

A diamond in the rough. Excellent local burger diner. The steak grilled cheese is delicious and the fries are well salted and crispy. Great for a quick lunch or takeout

Small cute place with reasonable prices for American fare food. Fresh fries and patties really enjoy their food.

Gilley's is rated best hot dog in New Hampshire bt First We Feast. I had the chili dog and poutine. I thought it was great.

The burger was really good and fries were good too. The picture doesn’t do the food justice. Would definitely be back again.

Wow !! Sandwich cheesy steak was soooo good ! We took it with cheesy chili fries and it was phenomenal.

My dad raved about Gilleys from when he was stationed here in the 60’s. We had to visit and I’m so glad we did. I think Gilley would be happy that another generation was able to experience the trolly car and great food.

Arlene and Jean are a pleasure to see and interact with. Never had a problem with service or food. Arlene has been cooking food for me for well over a decade and I can say almost with complete certainty that any of the negative reviews are from people with a BAC higher than their IQ. Will always come back for Gilley’s late nights.

Great late night burger joint. Chili cheese fries are awesome. Fries are fresh. The employees are cool and hard-working.
