Small local office. Took my 4yr old in for his school entry vision exam. Dr.Borders was great with him, we were in and out with ease. I would recommend coming here.

Took my dad here after he was diagnosed with shingles in his eye. After the absolute hellacious experiences we had with multiple ER trips, no one having a single clue what was going on or even being dismissive, it was an incredible relief to finally have definitive answers and a proper exam performed.

Dad has a long road ahead for treatment and recovery, but at least we both can rest easy knowing for certain he's properly cared for. Dr. Borders immediately wrote prescriptions for him, educated us on the risks and complications clearly and assured us he was going to take great care of my Dad. We were seen and attended to quickly with great respect. The office was clean, friendly and bright. The soothing music was also a lovely change from Top 40 you hear everywhere.

I am so very thankful we came here, a sincere thank you to both Doctors and all staff. You guys are phenomenal.

Update 4-4-2024-- I have been a patient since they opened the doors and I will not go anywhere else. BOTH Dr. Borders(Sara & Brit) are the best and they always do what it takes to provide the best eye care in Elizabethtown. Go see them! You will 100% satisfied!

Made an appointment and found out they are not providers with my insurance yet but will be Oct 1st. Unfortunately due to $$ constraints I really need to use my insurance benefits and am down to my last pair of contacts. I called and cancelled my appointment and was dreading having to find another place to go. I have had more than one bad experience with the "big box" places and refuse to go back. Within 10 minutes they called me back and said they are going to do whatever needs to be done to get me to Oct 1!! I am already beyond impressed! They have gone way above and beyond to take care of me!! Can't wait to get my eye exam!

My son and I just had an appt today and we are very impressed with this eye specialist. The dr was very experienced, professional and courteous to talk to. He even cleaned my teenager eyeglasses. The staff upfront are just as kind, the young person working front offered a seat to my son by the desk where people get measured for glasses. And the MA calling back my son used his “preferred name” he really appreciated that. Thanks Borders for your great eye care experience today. The only thing that could use a little improvement is the seating area, because it’s only 6 chairs for all the little place. But the service is Excellent!!

Fantastic doctors! Couldn’t have asked for a better experience, they were so kind and not only fixed my eye problem, but they made me feel at ease every step of the way. I HIGHLY recommend them and I am so blessed that I found them!!!

I saw that this business had really great reviews and after 7 years, I finally updated my prescription. Dr. Britt Borders was swift and easy with my exam and his recommendations and Dr. Sara Borders was a big help in deciding what was covered with my insurance and helping me pick out my new frames. I highly suggest this place with their ability to relate to the patient and their level of professionalism!

I can not say enough good about our recent experience! Dr. Borders was amazing with my 3 y.o. and 5 y.o. and when he gave us some unsettling news, he went above and beyond to bring us to ease and make sure we understood everything. No question was ignored or belittled. In a medical model that promotes short visits and high volume, these folks are a breath of fresh air. We will not be going anywhere else for our families eye care! Thank you all for being so amazing!

We were in the middle of a move and I had to get my son seen for a new pair of glasses. He had fed his only pair to our German Shepherd puppy, and his eyes were beginning to turn out again. I called all over Louisville, Lexington, and E-Town and wasn’t able to find anyone open to take him at the time we needed it except for Borders Eye Care! Not only was it a huge relief to know they could see him so soon, it was a relief to know he was in such good hands when we got there!

The registration staff were so helpful in aiding me to figure out his insurance coverage, and I have never met such personable other staff that came into the waiting room to meet and talk with us! I could have just cried from how friendly they were. We had just moved out of Eastern Kentucky where the health care was not very friendly or helpful, so this gesture of friendliness was overwhelming and welcoming.

The doctors that evaluated my son were patient and playful. He was exhausted and cranky from having his eyes dialated, but his cries didn’t seem to faze or frustrate them. They patiently explained the different frame options available and pickup options. They have since kept in contact with me about our order through texts and calls. My mother picked up the glasses and mailed them to me. I just received them today, and the Borders Eye Care staff included a handwritten card along with the glasses thanking us for being customers!

Seriously the best place I have ever been for any health care in my life! I wish there were more places like this where we live now! I would and have already recommended this place to people I know that live nearby. Love. Love Love!

We had such a great experience taking our 4 y/o to Borders Eye Specialists, I knew I had to get my athletic 8y/o in for rec specs but even better he was able to get contact lenses!! Dr. Britt Borders is VERY patient and caring my children took to him immediately! We had such a great experience with no waiting and prompt service!!! This office is a breath of fresh air for our community and we will look no further for excellent eye care!

Best optometrist aka eye doc you will find. Dr. Brett Borders tags the time to explain everything in normal terms. He doesn't try to sell you all the latest gimmicks. He truly cares about his patients. This is a family run location. The most friendly staff. Dr. Sara Borders is so patient in teaching how to put in/take out contacts. Also, you're not left waiting forever to be seen as they value your time!

The couple that owns Borders Eye Care Specialists are wonderful!! They truly care about their clients and go the extra mile to help. Britt Borders worked with me for 3 weeks to find contacts that would work with my dry eye. I’ve never been able to wear contacts before. And I was able to walk down the aisle at my daughter’s wedding without glasses!!!! Thank you Britt and Sara!!

The Borders team is beyond amazing. They truly went above and beyond for us from the scheduling of our two boys, the patience with little ones first appoints, to the paperwork for school. I can not say enough wonderful things about this family and the care they provide to their patients. Our family will certainly be patients for a long time. This was the best eye appointment I have had. Dr. Borders explains everything and takes his time. The lady out front is super nice. He changed the brand of contacts and I enjoy wearing contacts now. In my old brand I could barely wear them for a couple of hours and the new brand I can wear for 10+ hours. I definitely recommend this practice.

I had a great experience. The insurance process was easy, there was no waiting, and they even helped me pick out glasses since I was by myself. I really like the professionalism of Britt and how he takes care of his patients. They are very friendly very helpful and very patient. I have my family all go to them because I like the environment. I also like how thorough he explains things and he really knows his job

Extremely pleased and would recommend to anyone especially parents with young children. My 2 year old daughter and I went in today to get our eye exams, they are kind, patient, and listen to your opinions. Dr.Borders was fantastic with my little one. I will be going here from now on and no where else.

Very friendly and a family business. All about the patient not money hungry. Didn’t feel rushed through my appointment. Doctor Britt explained as he went. I’m usually nervous about picking A or B, 1 or 2. He said take as long as you need. No scary puff in the eye. I felt very confident in his abilities. If you need an eye specialist this is the place to go.
