Union Kitchen and Tap Encinitas

We tried to make reservations at 4:00 p.m. and we're not allowed to but when we arrived at 4:15 the restaurant was probably half full no problem. We were quickly seated after a minute of looking at our menu our order was taken by the friendly server. I had the gumbo and added shrimp to it it was fantastic very authentic flavors. My wife had the vegetarian burger which she said was one of the best she had ever had. The food was great waitress was possibly in a little bit of a rush . We enjoyed the nice clean atmosphere and they're also was live music ❤💪

Good food and service while sitting at the bar, got great recommendations from the bartender on tequila. Went with a flatbread and wings for a quick lunch with the wife. Super chill plenty of seating with lots of food and drinks options. Inside and outside seating options. We just missed happy hour but prices were still good for on the coast.

Excellent casual dining! Prime location in Encinitas, the food is perfect for brunch, lunch and dinner. Love the healthy green omlettes! Very spacious place with seating at the bar, inside, and out. Really nice Bar! Need to find street parking but great to walk to. Everyone there is really friendly and helpful, hostess and busser Devon is an absolute all-star. Very close to the D Street Viewpoint Beach.

Came here a few times for brunch with coworkers. I’ve tried the Bacon Bloody Mary, not a huge fan of these but this was pretty nice. I also ordered the Avocado Toast which had salmon slices and an egg. I’ve also tried the Skillet Cornbread Benedict. Nice place, good food, chill vibe. Think they used to have Bottomless Mimosas as well, not sure if they still have it.

What a great find! Great location, great vibe, and great food! We came on a Wednesday night. We were seated promptly without having to wait. There's a variety of fun cocktails as well as different draft beers on tap to choose from! Pan seared salmon was good but skin could be more crispy. Sauce for the seared salmon was not my favorite. My friends ordered the gumbo and the fisherman's stew. They all enjoyed their food very much. Now, finally, the CORNVREAD is what you really need to order. It's very buttery and heavy, but that's why you bring a friend or two with you 😉

My Husband & I have been here twice now and both times were EXCELLENT! Joey recommended the shirmp & grits and I have to say my mouth is still watering! My husband had the wings and the mac & cheese (he's a picky eater) but he said it was delicious as well. Round 3 here we come....!

We came Dec 17,2023 - we came to get drinks and some corn bread with jalapeños.
They have a nice set up ⬆
Spacious and parking was easy.
We had a nice coffee and Bloody Mary ( was strong ) also ordered orange juice ( it was okay )

They have TV to watch football 🏈
And they have seating outside and inside !

I recently tried the Fisherman's Stew at Union Kitchen & Tap, and it blew me away! The abundance of seafood made every bite a delight, and the overall food quality was top-notch. Kudos to the attentive waitstaff who not only provided excellent service but also went the extra mile by serving water bowls for dogs. The heaters added a cozy touch, making the dining experience even more enjoyable. Highly recommend!

Wow! This place exceeded my expectations. Was visiting out of town from Philly and wanted a spot to eat and watch the game. Happy I selected this spot. The host was very kind in greeting me and I was able to sit immediately. Didn’t have to wait too long for service. Plus they had both NFL games on which included the Eagles. Tried two of their cocktails and both were really good and with a good amount of liquor. Their version of an espresso martini has Baileys which is my preference. I tried the skillet cornbread which was very tasty, crunchy on the edges, and moist in the center. For my entree I had the shrimp and grits which was as good, if not slightly better, than what you’d find in New Orleans. Would highly recommend and will come again when in the area.

Union is always solid. It’s hard to go wrong. Food is always great, location is solid, and the vibes are nice. Can take for much more and might be one of the most happening places in Encinitas.

This place is a hidden gem in Encinitas. I passed it so many times on my bike cruising along the coast and finally decided to stop by for brunch with my wife and daughter. We all were blown away with the atmosphere, service, and quality of food. Everything we ordered was delicious, especially flat breads.

I’ve been here many times and like the the other times it was great. This particular morning I went for brunch and started with a few pineapple mimosas. After that I ordered grits and a cornbread and eggs item off the special menu. I enjoyed them both and left a satisfied customer. I can’t remember our waitress name but she was very attentive so I wanted to mention her as well.

What a great place! Fun atmosphere and tons of seating outside and back from the street as well. Service was prompt and Emily was fantastic! I love the Vegan-specific part of their menu. Takes the guesswork out and eliminates the need for substitutions to get a healthy and tasty Vegan dish. I went for late lunch and had the Union Power Bowl and shared the Mushroom flatbread (not Vegan). Yummy! Fun place for adults and families and lots of pet-friendly patio space.

Love outside sitting and food. Very pleasant experience and staff. Great selection of draft beers and drinks.

After a long day of hiking mixed with cycling up and down the beach and highway, we stopped in for a bite to eat and were NOT disappointed. This is such a fun bar/restaurant. The music was great, atmosphere lively, and everyone was friendly. The food came out quickly and was delicious, and everything was clean!

Super cool place to hang out and people watch as you grab a snack or meal. I asked for rare salmon and got it! That's a rare thing for me, so bravo chef!

I came in for an early birthday treat and not was this a treat. I was greeted immediately and seated right away. The reataurant was very clean and well staffed. That same staff kept busy tending to various tasks.

I was then greeted soon thereafter by a friendly server. I asked about a drink on their menu and she took the time to describe it in more detail as well as gave me an alternate to the standard pour. (on the rocks vs up/neat). It was so delicious, I had to order a second.

I proceeded to ask a question about the filet and my server took the extra time to check with the kitchen to get clarity and came back with the answer. Bonus points for going a step beyond and doing so with a smile on her face. Very much appreciated. If ll servers here are like this, you cannot go wrong.

The filet came out in a timely manner and was perfectly cooked. The presentation was excellent and the cut was absolutely delicious. The sauce they served with the filet was delectable. It elevated the steak to another level.

I would highly recommend a visit. The atmosphere was hip and fun and the staff made my visit even more enjoyable. The food... Well.... I would gladly return to enjoy this entire experience over again.

Came here for brunch. Service was great, our server was super sweet and food came out quick. I got the breakfast flatbread and cornbread- flatbread was good, not amazing, but I enjoyed it. The tomatoes were a little soggy and could have been more roasted. But the CORNBREAD— best cornbread I’ve ever had, the jalapeños were a nice touch. The rest of my party enjoyed their food, I recommend this place.

When for dinner on a Friday night. 20 minute wait time, but we decided to take the last two seats at the bar. Live musician playing wasn’t too loud and played cover songs in a clever way. Very unique garnishes for drinks and food. Food was fresh.

Brunch was amazing! My husband had shrimp and grits, and I had locals favorite plate (I think). BEST Levain I've ever had!!! So fresh, and it was fairly inexpensive. Definitely going back.
