I'm so happy there's an ice cream place nearby now. I've gotten the horchata twice because it's sooo creamy and sweet! They'll really pack the ice cream in so the portions are great value.

First time in and the ice cream was DELICIOUS! Service was quick and they were helpful in choosing a flavor. Portions are very generous, atmosphere was friendly and the Beach Boys playing in the background was a nice touch! Definitely recommend and we will be back!

The atmosphere: reminds me of the ice cream parlors in the 1980s. Very nostalgic. There is a walk up window for ordering ice cream to go. Seating can be limited inside.
Ice cream: huge menu selection! The butter pecan was not very sweet, the pecans gave this flavor texture. It’s hard to describe the the texture of the ice cream by itself. Not chewy, not watery, it was just delicious! The pistachio flavor did not taste like pistachio but it was still good. Looking forward to trying other flavors next time!

The Cedar Park Foodies group has come through with another fantastic find! This place was awesome-very family friendly. From the plethora of ice cream flavors to the old school vibe of the shop, this ice cream spot has it all. I was even pleasantly surprised to discover they have a playground for the kids! That way after they eat their ice cream they can run around and burn off all of that sugar, lol! I had the birthday cake flavor ice cream and it might be on my top 5 list of the best birthday cake ice cream I've ever had-we are talking chunks of cake and icing mixed in with the ice cream-divine! Service was great, the employees let us sample any flavor of ice cream we wanted before for making a selection, and the portion sizes are WILD! One of their mottos is "We Don't Skimp" and they absolutely lived up to they saying. We got a medium and it was HUGE-multiple scoops of ice cream. I think next time we'll go with the small size but even that is a hefty serving! Look forward to making a return trip-the perfect way to cool off after a long day outside or by the pool. They've got seating inside and outside as well where you can enjoy your ice cream. Don't forget the playground after! Your kids will love it.

Clean and nice ice cream store. The server is friendly and make recommendations to pair the flavors for my first purchase. I love their chocolate chunks, key lime pie, black raspberries and blueberry cobbler. And it’s not that sweet like some brands are. And my throat feels comfortable after eating them. Bet their homemade ice cream uses quality ingredients.

Made it out to the Grand Opening! We had Pink Champagne Sherbet and a Sunday!! Won a t-shirt and sunglasses, now I’m a ‘taste tester’ ;) Will definitely be back and just in time for Central Texas Summer! There’s room to eat inside and a patio to enjoy with animals outside. Friendly staff and loads of choices! Can even purchase pints to take home!

First time being in a Handel's and well, they have grape ice cream. THEY HAVE GRAPE ICE CREAM!❤❤ finally a place that has it, and it did not disappoint, it was delicious! Last time I had grape ice cream was the grape ice at Baskin and Robbins ages ago. Find a Handel's Ice Cream Parlor or go on a trip to a place that has one, well worth it!

Okay. HOLY. COW. I'm going to tell you one thing: come HUNGRY. We all ordered a small waffle cone and as you can see from the picture, it wasn't very "small" at all. There are soooooo many choices to choose from, so that's a lot of fun! If you're looking for a more reasonable size, go for the child sizes or get your ice cream in a cup. The taste is fantastic, it is definitely busy inside and my only complaint is that the inside of Handel's is warm for some reason. Kinda strange that an ice cream shop is warm.

A great late-ish night ice cream spot. Friendly staff and fast service. The decor is rather plain and there’s not much sitting room inside, but it’s clean and very well-lit. I love how much they stack up the ice cream and the strawberry cheesecake chunk ice cream has been consistently amazing.
Though I do ask to add an apple pie or peach cobbler flavor to the menu (unless it does come at some point already, let me know and I’m THERE)

In a word: AWESOME
Simply great homemade ice cream with the best ingredients. They also have a little playground right outside! Great for families or just grownup kids! NOTE: limited seating and no restrooms.

We came for their grand opening. We have been going to Handels in other states for some time now and are so excited to have them here in Austin finally! Some of our favorite ice cream ever! Will not be disappointed!

We moved and left Handel’s behind. Boy were we excited when we heard they were opening a shop here in Austin. BEST ice cream by far. Get the four scoop sampler. My favorite flavors are Graham Central Station and Blueberry Cobbler. My husband went to their grand opening and was one of the first 100 people in line and now we get free ice cream for a year. I don’t know how my waistline feels about that! Oh well! Don’t sleep on Handel’s. They also sell pints and quarts of all the flavors. If you’re feeling extra naughty and a scoop is not enough for you, you can load up on your favorite flavor and take it home with you.

This ice cream was born in my hometown of Youngstown, Ohio. When we learned that there was a location here, we just had to drive and get some. It did not disappoint.

OMG! We stopped by Handel's just now and had some amazing ice cream! I tried the Blue Monster which reminds me of Cookie Monster. It's blue vanilla ice cream with oreos and chocolate chip cookies....beyond delicious! My fiancé got a Mud Pie which is double coffee ice cream with a chocolate ripple and oreos...he ate his before I could get a picture...lol. Staff was super friendly and the the ice cream flavors seem to be endless...gonna take me some time to try them all. Stop by tomorrow for their Grand Opening...you won't be disappointed. #handelsandersonmill

Didn't need dessert after a great seafood meal earlier, but dang it, ice cream sounded good. Had never been to Handel's before, but we had some truly outstanding ice cream here. A little chaotic with a lot of customers and the all-teen staff, but it was entertaining if nothing else! LOL Overall, a good experience and excellent product.

I must confess right up-front that I do not run out to visit every new dessert place that opens here in Austin. But in the case of this new Handel's Ice Cream shop, I was attracted by several bits of info: Homemade since 1945, created by Alice Handle one batch at a time, using her recipes & the fruit from her own garden. Well, not only has Handle's grown from coast-2-coast, it seems to develop a dedicated following wherever a new store opens. So, based on that info, I decided that I'd visit this new location with a friend to check it out & get a 2nd opinion.

The 1st thing I saw when I walked in the door was: "This doesn't look like any ice cream store I've ever been in!" There's a counter where you order from a Staff person, nothing new there, but behind that person are numerous, large, white Freezer Chests and this is where they keep their freshly made(daily) ice cream. One of the staff members will scoop out Your order by hand... then bring it over to you.

My friend & I shared 6 different flavors. The ice cream is more "dense" than any I can remember. It is not a light, airy product and none of the flavors tasted of a sugar overload. "Homemade" is the word that comes to mind, like comparing a store bought apple pie to one made at home...it's just different in all the best ways.

Located off 620. Parking is good, several tables outside, and a small grassy fenced area for kids to play in.

Final words: The best ice cream I've had in Austin and it's worth a visit:)

Great ice cream! I like to grab a few pints of different flavors to keep in the freezer for movie nights or just general snacking. Prices are great, and lots of flavors to try.
