Ostra Restaurant

I had a wonderful lunch here after my massage at the hotel spa. The food was delicious, my Ketel One lemon drop was made perfectly and the wait staff were attentive.

I ordered the Cesar salad with grilled shrimp and truffle fries. Both were delicious. The salad had anchovies on it instead of in the dressing which I didn't mind. The shrimp were cooked perfectly. The truffle fries were crispy with just enough truffle flavor.

This is a very good restaurant! We actually went twice within a week for cocktails and a quick bite to eat. I must say that everyone here was very nice and attentive. The manager, Ed Parker, came to check on us and started dropping history about the area and the hotel, which I really enjoyed hearing about. Then he explained the hotels amenities such as the Mokara spa. I wish I had gotten my last massage here because it seems to be the best in town! We can't wait to come back, and I also LOVE the blue bartop. The crab cake is very good as well as the blackened redfish sandwich! My wife commented on how it didn't seem blackened, but we still really loved it. Next time, we plan on sitting at a table for a nice dinner because Ostra is a must!

What a beautiful and most gorgeous place in San Antonio! It sits right on the Riverwalk. The weight staff are so friendly and wonderful. The kids had a blast there here at great drinks and great food. Don’t forget to try the redfish sandwich.

Best seafood I have had in a long time! So fresh and delicious. A unique creative flair! Not a single thing disappointed! I can not wait to go back! Great atmosphere! Excellent service! Wow wow wow! Probably a good thing I don’t live closer, or my wallet would be unhappy with me 😅

We came for brunch. The food was amazing; my husband had the chicken biscuit breakfast, which he loved, annd I had the American Breakfast. Our waiter, Eunice, was immensely helpful and attentive. She went above and beyond! We highly recommend Ostra. If you do, say hi to Eunice!

People watch on the patio on the boardwalk was the intention. Well met. Everything we got was divine. Coffee was accompanied by a candy stick. Perfect way to snack, eat, watch and sip coffee.

I have an affinity for delicious food and amazing service. Those two things are harder and harder to find, and are especially harder to find together. Ostra excels in both of those areas. We ordered the East Coast Oysters, the Scallops, and the Tuna, and oh my gosh, every bite was delectable. The oysters were some of the best we have ever had. They were so good that we went there 3 nights in a row just for the oysters. The scallops and Tuna were cooked perfectly and the sauces and vegetables that accompanied were a pleasant surprise to the palate. I was in the River Walk area for 5 days and the food at Ostra was hands down the best I had.
Our server was Jorge. He was incredibly attentive and personable and was knowledgeable about the menu. If he is working when you visit, ask to sit in his section.
Since we were so impressed with our experience, we asked to meet the chef. Chef John was humble and kind and possesses amazing skills of preparing food in ways rarely seen, and it's good, high quality food. If you want a 5 star dining experience you must absolutely visit Ostra.

Not only is this spot one of the only spots that does breakfast until 11am, they are also an amazing group of hospitable people. I HIGHLY recommend stopping in for breakfast, Nonetheless at any point of the day. The staff were so sweet and so accommodative. The food was to die for, I mean the best breakfast I've had in my 30 years of living haha. Richard and his staff were so amazing I will definitely be returning anytime I'm in San Antonio 💗

wonderful experience. not too loud so we could have a great conversation. Everyones food was delicious. Highlights were the salmon, chicken, and redfish. one person ordered the vegan cauliflower steaks. It was delicious, but she was still hungry.
service was great. Interesting drink menu with full bar. Desserts looked good, but I was too full.

We went to Ostra twice during our business trip. The food was delicious, the servers were very nice. I liked everything they served. Their fish dishes are so soft, the meat almost melts. I never tried the Shrimp n Grits dish - but I will definitely come back one day to try it!

It is on the side of riverwalk, and the view is perfect. The crab cake is fresh and tastes delicious. The redfish is grilled perfectly. The waiters are nice and professional. The restaurant is clean comparing to others in the same area.

We came for Valentine's Day so they had a select menu, I was disappointed that there was no lobster on the menu. Nicholas the waiter did a great job. The food that I did order was delicious. The paloma drink was missing something it was not the best. The streak was nice and juicy per my husband and my pasta shrimp dish was flavorful. But the oysters are the best. I just had 3 to test try and I loved them.

Ostra is on the Riverfront so you can choose to be outside or inside. We got the best table…inside but right by a window. Thank you Jorge (George) who continued to be the BEST waiter we have had in ages. He was not only attentive to our every need but he also had an astute ability to make food recommendations for both of us. The meal was superb and the entire experience was memorable.

We were here July 9th weekend and I have to say after 1 meal here, we ate here exclusively all weekend!!!
First shout out is to Julie who was at the bar shucking oysters... This woman needs a raise and should be out in front of customers all the time! She made both our weekends with great conversations, service and food! I am pregnant and she designed a seafood platter catered to my needs!!!! She was the #1 reason we returned as much as we did!!! I can't wait to go back and see her again in Sept.!!!!
Andy, the manager, was amazing as well! He approved all substitutions for me and even listened to my thoughts and ideas on how to make a mommy-to-be spa weekend even better at Mokara Spa! "Mokara-Mommy-Mocktails" should become a thing!!!
Jon , the executive sous chef, was awesome in preparing our food all weekend and even came out to see if we liked our meals. They met any special requests I had which made me feel amazing!!!
On to the food!
My first taste was a baby-moon chocolate mousse that was delivered to our room.... I loved it so much I ended up ordering more the next few nights!
The wedge salad was so fresh and delicious and was the first of my orders at Ostra with special requests that kept me coming back all weekend!
For breakfast on my mommy-to-be spa day, I had a fruit bowl, which was huge, yogurt and some toast!
For lunch, my husband and I ate a chicken caesar salad with extra croutons, a shrimp cocktail and the fish and chips basket! Again, my special requests for my salad were met no problem!!!
I had a five-layer chocolate torte cake for a mid afternoon snack and the slice was huge, rich and very decadent!
We had some of the cevieche and Julie even added avocado to the mix!!!
The seafood platter is a must try! Since I cannot have raw oysters, Julie customized our platter with a few oysters for my husband to enjoy and more items that I could have while pregnant.... I was so touched by this because they really care about their customers!!! I ate so much shrimp and crab claws and I have to say this is the best I ever had and I live on the gulf!!!!
My husband enjoyed some bacon roasted brussel sprouts which smelled amazing!
For breakfast on the final day, I had theSour Cream Blueberry Pancakes and whoa..... absoluetly delicious!!! I even got extra custard! My hubby had the Malted Vanilla Waffle and blueberry sage sausage, we have never eaten so many delicious items at 1 restuarant!!!
I hope the owners see this post as again, I have to promote and praise Julie on her amazing customer service. As an HR professional, she has the culture, passion and drive to make that restuarant succeed!
I also have to praise Andy and Jon one more time as well, this staff combo, really know how to make the meal, day or weekend of their customers!!!
I am sending my company's sales reps here next week on their trip!

Mike was awesome! We ordered the Tower Appetizer and we ended up full! ***Just be aware that the menu on this site is not current/the same, as some things were available 3 yrs ago and they will be changing it in a few days so hopefully it will reflect properly. But the food was fresh and delicious. Highly recommend this establishment.

I sat at the bar and had PEi oysters that were fantastic and the Hamachi. Perfect light late dinner.

Dined here 8/22/21 for lunch. It was a quiet Sunday morning and we were seated immediately. *No brunch currently offered and breakfast ends at 10:00* Staff was courteous and gave us a choice of inside or outside dining. We chose inside to escape the heat and were given a lovely table by the window with a River Walk view. Restaurant was immaculate. Table linens were fresh and crisp. Our waiter was professional and took our order correctly. Food did not take long to prepare and was tasty. Highly recommend!
