I had wanted to try this place for some time. Unfortunately, there was construction work on the street downstairs. The fortunate part of this was that there was no work being done at the time, so no noise. We were met at the front door and rode up the elevator with an employee who suggested appetizers and indicated they had a full bar. Although she stated they were a full bar two of the drinks I ordered could not be made because they did not have all the ingredients. So I ended up ordering a cucumber martini and I can say it was delish! I ordered a Salatta Verde, Polpette, and the Ceviche. The ceviche was delicious. I love the fact that they added pieces of jalapeno, pineapple, and cherry tomatoes. It had that sweet, spicy, citrus flavor that made it unique to me. After 45 minutes of waiting for the rest of our food we finished our drinks, thanked the bar staff for their superb service and canceled the rest of the food we had not received. The bar staff apologized and mentioned they had reported this to the manager. As we waited for the elevator, the doors opened, and an employee excited with our food in hand only to stop to talk to the couple standing by us about they're stay in the hotel. So you can imagine my disgust that my food was not covered while they spoke. But not only that, we could not get into the elevator because he was blocking the entrance and not once did he move out of the way nor acknowledged us after speaking to the couple. Tsk, Tsk, I hope he was not the manager. I will say I enjoyed the view with a drink in hand. Will I go back? Maybe, maybe not we'll see.

We got here on a Sunday at 3:45. Website claims open at 11 but it opens at 4 and you can get no food before 5pm until Silo opens downstairs. The view was nice ‘till they built this big building to the south. The bartender Josh was really nice.

Went there on a week day on my Birthday , the place was empty just the 2 of us. Drinks were ok. We ordered the cheese plate to start, and we got a small salad plate wit 3 small pieces of cheese, almonds I think, 4 pieces of a very thin toast and like a teaspoon of honey. I was in shock..then we got no napkins or utensil to cut the cheese. We used our fingers, asked for the check and left. No I won't go back.

They are "re-doing" their menu and do not offer any sort of meal OR OYSTERS at the rooftop OYSTER bar. They also claim to not have any sort of control over their website which clearly shows a more substantial menu. They offer small appetizer type things but nothing that would satisfy as a meal especially for a 16th anniversary. We ended up going downstairs to Silo and was blown away by the ambiance and service of that location. If evening drinks with a view is all you are after then this may be a place for a drink or two, but beware they are very expensive here. 2 drinks with mediocre service ran us $35!!

If you like tiny overpriced oysters and bad service, they will gladly take your money with the same bad attitude.

It’s unfortunate to write this review as this place has been special for my wife and I. It’s with reluctance I am writing this. However, management, owners and anyone in leadership should be made aware of the disgrace and attitude we received on 6/8.

My wife and I were hosting some friends and business associates, when after dinner we collectively wanted to have a night cap. Being we have been to the Fairmont Terrace several times. We took it upon ourselves to recommend . As the views of Tower of Americas and downtown are incredible . Staff and drinks are always on par.

That said, as we made our way. We were harassed upon entry. Being we didn’t have a reservation. Again, have been before without reservations so didn’t think it would be a big deal. As we made our way upstairs, there was literally no one at The Terrace. Asked, the two bartenders if they were still open. Said yes and we’re happy to serve beverages. Before drinks were poured we were met with the manager in charge. Stating that we didn’t have reservations they couldn’t serve us. We were definitely taken back as we were thinking this was a joke of sorts. It wasn’t. The manger then, said if we didn’t leave the Terrace he would call the cops. In which, we said please do. As we are
Literally, trying to have our drinks we were gladly going to pay for. He then instructed the bartenders not to serve us and kicked us out.

This has to be one of the most embarrassing and ugly feelings I have ever felt. To be harassed for not having a reservation is beyond ridiculous. We are paying customers. This was uncalled for. He could of kindly and politely explained to us, why they denied us service.

I have spent birthdays, baby reveal and engagement parties all in the upstairs Terrace. After this past experience I will definitely NOT go back. Ever.

I am a person who is not review happy. But this has to be stated. As a business owner myself. I am of the belief employees in management and leadership roles should be extensions of the culture, and brand. This is NOT the Fairmont that I know. Accountability needs to be taken in this situation.

Goodbye, Fairmont. It’s sad that this management style is allowed. I guess egos Pay bills. Not local return customers with a group of 10 people who were all ready to spend money. Sad, unfortunate. And despicable.
