Good solid food. Excellent waitress. They are fast. Surprisingly low prices for the area.

Mels was a lifesaver this weekend when my daughter and I needed an early breakfast before the newport marathon. He was open and ready at 5am, and had a great breakfast ready for us in no time. I would highly recommend this place for a delicious meal.

Very affordable breakfast! Opens early which is great because most places open until 11am. Super late for a New Yorker. A 10 minute walk from Bannisters Wharf. 2 Mel’s breakfast specials was good for 3 people.

It is an excellent Portuguese breakfast spot!!! Awesome little spot with the owner there every day cooking up his best for over 39 years located in a quiet spot in newport. Definitely a hidden gem! I will be going back , a third time.

It’s a little breakfast and lunch place. It looks a little run down, but the food is really good and staff very friendly. Also you can’t beat the prices. Lots of the locals go here every morning.

Come here and i guarantee your experience will be two times better than if you went to one of the fru fru breakfast places on Broadway (Corner I'm looking at you) service was fast we sat down and got our food in less than 10 minutes. Food was so well done and inexpensive, and it was nice to support a business that has clearly been in the family for years. I will be back for sure

Outstanding place to eat in Newport. I have been coming here for over 30 years and the same family are involved. Want to know what's going on in Newport? Sit at the counter and have a meal. Food is outstanding every time and the service could be taught to a lot of other eateries around the country on how to treat your clients.

I have been coming here for about 40 years now and my family loves this place for years. Old world diners with good for and staff that treats you like family are far and few between these days., so if you are in Newport this is a must dine in👍🏽👍🏽

Possibly the best corned beef hash I've eaten so far. Most diners that serve it leave it bland. Theirs is perfect. The French toast with homefries ad hash is very delicious and great value for money.
