The employees here are wonderful, hard working people. The customers leaving 1 star reviews are most likely the same customers I see in line giving the employees attitude and being outright less than humanly decent towards them. The workers here certainly don’t get paid enough to deal with the BS they deal with on a regular basis. I regularly ship items having my own online pop up shop, and I have never had an unpleasant experience (I’m there probably twice a week). There is always self service if the line is longer than expected and its always super clean and professionally run! 10/10 experience always.

I was surprised to see the ratings so low. I've been regularly the last 6 months and service has been quick an friendly. They appear to be well staffed. Sure, occasionally there has only been one person at the window but I didn't have to wait more than 5-7 minutes.

I know the reviews of this post office are hit and miss, but I swear, if you have ever dealt with ANY post office in Chicago, you can't appreciate how fabulous these people are. They are friendly, polite, they know their jobs and they are always helpful. I've lived in Elgin since 2005 and I've never had a bad experience at this post office. Yes, sometimes the lines move a bit slow, but perhaps that's because they are being helpful to every single customer. I lived in Chicago for most of my life and my experience with ANY post office in Chicago is they are angry, annoyed, don't like their jobs and don't want to be bothered with anything. This location in Elgin is the complete opposite of that at all times. The best part is whenever I send anything via Priority Mail regardless if it's local or to the west coast, it gets there in record time! Thank you Elgin West Side Post Office! You ARE appreciated!

We’ve been going to this Post Office for as long as it’s been open. We’ve always had the best service at this location whether or not the lines are short or long. They take very good care of their customers. A special shout out to Lisa and Darlene - thank you so much for your years of excellent service!

I was amazed by the service of this postal office! I was there on the 14 of August and there was a young man and a girl and they were polite, helpful and the young man was with a big smile, I am glad to see changes in the postal office because there some postal offices around here were the employees are so rude. Good job
