The Record Exchange is hands down the best record shop in the region! Sam, Zach and the other staff are knowledgeable and friendly. Their prices are fair and their inventory is constantly changing. Their punch card is a wonderful bonus, and being able to save $ everytime I fill one up is a great perk!

Sam the owner is amazingly kind and all about being involved in his community. His shop has a great selection, constantly being updated, and most of my records have been purchased from here over the years (between the old location and the new location). They carry cassette tapes, vinyls, VHS, laser discs, vintage video games, and more. 10/10 one of the last of its kind in the area.

Place is super cool. Nice selection of old records and a decent stock of used CDs as well. They even sell t-shirts, DVD, Blu-Rays. Very nostalgic and worth a visit.

Lots of great finds at a very reasonable price. Also went for Record Store Day and they had a lot in stock! Definitely worth checking out if you're in Frederick. Great record store.

REOPENED at this new location! Old location was closed due to fire.

One of the best record stores in the greater DC - Baltimore area! We can not wait for it to reopen.

I can not wait to see the new space.

THANK YOU & GOOD LUCK!!!!

Friendly and helpful staff plus an amazing selection of well-priced CDs. The vinyl selection seemed to be just as large too, and they also had a selection of other merch. I was able to find a CD I had been struggling to find in a store for a while for $5 and was ecstatic when I came across it.

Always a good time perusing the CD racks and record bins. Prices are extremely reasonable and Sam and his crew will check their other store for inventory or special order those new, rare or obscure titles if available.

One of a few "go to" locations on Market Street and well worth the time.

Very well organized and clean. It is fun to go through the records; it is like a treasure hunt. We got two 7" and they are kept in very good condition.

Always cool to come in to see what new stuff they have. Really awesome staff, very helpful and easy to have conversations with about music. They have some rare stuff and all sorts of other stuff. Old video games, imported DVDs/CDs and pins/patches/stickers.

Love popping in here for a gift, to expand my own collection, or even just for a random visit! They have a great selection of both old and new music. If you're looking for something specific that they don't have on hand, you can special order it at the counter. Great customer service! Definitely stop in if you have some time!

A super cool shop with a great vibe and lots of selection. Come here with the intent of spending a while to flip through the records. Some great memories of old vinyl, some funny surprises, and of course some gems are waiting if you take your time.

Don't miss the collectables up near the checkout area, the tapes on a side wall, and some DVDs along the back!

I visit this record shop with my son every time I come to Frederick. The highlight, aside from the great music being played and the fantastic assortment of records to peruse, is Oliver (Ollie) the two year old Great Dane!! A gentle giant for sure :)
