Angel, Erick, Bismarck were absolutely wonderful and did a fantastic job moving us from our old apartment to our new condo. They worked hard and delivered everything according to plan, even up a steep set of stairs! Our move involved 2 stops which added a bit to the complexity of our move, and they absolutely shined. The crew was polite, professional, and cheerful throughout. We HIGHLY recommend them.

Outstanding experience. My fiancé and I were storing our belongs in a storage unit prior to our move to Richmond. The movers arrived within the window and quickly moved our belongings from the storage unit to the truck. They were efficient and even wrapped our belongings. Erick and Bismark made sure all of our belongings were moved safely. Our move was a little tricky - up a flight of 18 stairs! I would highly recommend hiring this company!

I highly recommend G & J Movers. I also recommend planning ahead on your move and adequately understanding the steps and the method G&J uses to determine how many crew members and trucks to send on-site. I recommend walking through your house and writing a list of all the pieces of big furniture in each room and then trying to visualize how many large, medium, and small boxes (and wardrobe boxes) you will need for each room.

Once you have this, call G&J Movers in the *morning* (before 10:30 am) while all the staff are in the office planning the day ahead. By doing this, I was connected with Jayson, the General Manager, and he conducted the intake and case management for all parts of my move.

I mention taking inventory because the quote process begins with an inventory of the move, which informs an estimate for the weight, the number of 26’ trucks, the size of the crew, and whether a foreman will be sent on-site to coordinate and oversee the work conducted by the crew members.

The quote is generated in two parts: Packing & Moving. The scale of the move may lead to a two-day schedule, as it did for me. I see a review here where a person complained that there wasn't enough room in the truck — well, from my experience with this process, it's probably because they didn't provide a complete inventory of the house. I strongly recommend communicating an accurate inventory; for example, if you have two couches, are they two love seats or a 4-seater with an ottoman extension and an overstuffed bucket seat chair? Lean toward overestimating the number of boxes you think you need. Don't forget area rugs and storage closets.

At the end of the day, the “Packing” section of the quote is measured by the number of crew members for a number of hours. I was estimated X number of crew/hours and when packing day came, the movers worked so quickly that my costs ended up being significantly lower than the estimate, and saved me money.

Jayson Chapman was an absolute angel. He coordinated my move & Mo was the foreman. I highly recommend both. I had the opportunity to talk with both Jayson, and the head of operations in advance, and they communicated the complexities of my requests to Mo and prepared him in advance. Mo executed my move flawlessly, and Jayson was consistently available to talk to me the innumerable times I called back to make a change to the move — if I were him I would have been annoyed at the number of changes coming in, but he was an absolute angel and did not hesitate once to see what I needed, and how G & J could fulfill it.

We even had a hard to reach cabin with a gym I could only access by foot or with an all-wheel drive truck, and they said no problem, here are our options. As a result I decided to rent a trailer for $20 a day and use my own 4x4 to drive the trailer while the crew loaded and unloaded from it. That worked for me, but it useful to know that G & J will provide their own vehicle for this sort of thing, they’ve seen it before, and its a part of their service offering.

In regards to my move: I was tasked to single-handledy move my household out of a 3000sqf 2 building estate set on 4 acres where the second building was only accessible by use of a 4x4 with trailer.

Unforeseen complexities on my end meant that my requirements kept changing. Despite that every time I called back, we were shaving hundreds of dollars off of the estimate, my move coordinator, Jayson, was available to pick up the phone, and make necessary changes to my quote. He was awesomely kind, patient and honest throughout these calls. He sent me the link to my quote once by email, and all I had to do was refresh the page to see the changes made.

I've moved 16 times in 15 years, and 100% recommend this team for a high-end move when you want full-service packing and unpacking, attention to details planned in advance, and a dedicated case manager to handle it all.

Be kind to your future self by taking inventory & plan ahead — lastly, dont forget to tip your crew members as this is customary in the US.

First moving is always stressful.
Especially in a new country.
But if you choose right service provider, your moving experience can be much more better.

Excellent moving experience with team of Erick, Enrique, Jackson , and Norman within same town. They came early on my request, walked over all the house to see what need to be moved, and started putting away stuff into the truck. They were very careful with the delicate packages, and disassembled the bulky items. They protected the items with blankets and all the items were assembled back in new place.
