Five stars is an understatement for Charles and his business. I recently visited his shop for the first time with a picture that I wanted re-matted. The selection of frames and mats is great and he took the time to work with me on the best options. He had another customer in the shop at the time that spoke highly of him. He even took the time to show off his impressive work space and all of his beautifully framed artwork hanging on the walls. Despite the good amount of business it appears Charles has, my picture was ready for pickup in just a few days. I am now a permanent customer! Charles is talented at what he does and you will not be disappointed.

Charles is a true gem! My daughter and I recently brought some pieces in to him for the first time and we received such excellent customer service! Charles treated us like old friends, engaging in conversation and even took the time to give us a tour of his shop, showing us his amazing collection of beautifully framed concert posters and other beautifully framed art. When I picked our pictures up (done in a very quick time frame), I admired how each person that came in the shop raved to me about his work and how he treated them like old friends, too. As for his work...it is PERFECT...I left 2 more pieces with him when I picked our first order up! I highly recommend this very professional and talented man for your custom framing needs...you won't be disappointed!

I was looking for someone to help me preserve a World Map that represented all of the different places my in-laws traveled as Educators during their summer vacations. I searched the Internet and found Charles at Peninsula Custom Framing in Hampton. That was the best fined ever!

After patiently listening to me explain what I would like to do, Charles immediately could tell how much this meant to me and gave me some great options that would help bring the map alive. He devoted his time going over frame choices and explaining what would help make the map shine.

He completed the map in a timely manner, and it looks GREAT! I couldn't be any happier. It makes me feel so good each time I look at it.

After a quick Google search of local framing shops I decided on Peninsula Custom Framing & Gallery. Charles is knowledgeable, professional, friendly and thoughtful. After explaining what I wanted we discussed several options and together came up with the perfect way to pay tribute to my husbands 29 years of service as a Firefighter and his Dad who also served at the same station. When I presented my husband with the shadowbox he was filled with emotions, such a touching moment for myself and his mom. Numerous people in attendance complimented the craftsmanship of Charles. Thanks for making my husband feel as special as he is.

A cousin recommended Custom Framing for the framing of two diplomas for my daughter who'd always admired my degree frames. However, I was unable to find the frames because the company that made them had gone out of business. I took my custom frames to Charles. He explained my options and assisted me in finding frames as close as possible to the desired ones. Unfortunately, we still could not find the decorative corners on my frames. Charles turned around my order in one week while other places were giving at least a two-week turnaround. When I went to pick up my order, I was very pleased with the finished product. To my surprise, Charles then handed me a wrapped Christmas gift. It was the decorative corners! I have never had anyone work so hard to ensure my satisfaction. I had two pictures that needed framing. Charles had a good eye for selecting the right frames. He went right to the wall of frames (and there are a lot) and put his hands on the perfect frames! When I picked them up…they were perfect!! I love them! Thanks Charles for great customer service.

Peninsula Custom Framing is my now go to and I will be referring everyone here. Charles is extremely knowledgeable and listens to what the client wants. His client treatment was above and beyond which is hard to find at mamy places. Turn around time was great. I went to other places to get quotes and they would not listen to what I wanted and were over double the price.

Charles is amazing! I took a print in from where we were married (had been stowed away for years), and was so happy I did. He took the time to sit down with me and look at options for frames/matting, and the final product is gorgeous. I was referred to Charles at Peninsula Custom Framing through a friend of mine.

I had received a couple of pieces of art from my in-laws and the existing frames were HUGE and quite ornate - this shop helped me out tremendously by bringing the size down and coming up with a frame design that worked for me, and all within an extremely reasonable budget.

My husband and I enlisted Peninsula Custom Framing & Gallery to frame and preserve a 30 year old oil painting completed by my late father. Charles was patient while we looked through the wall of colorful frame samples and ensured we were comfortable with our selection before we left. His prices are fair and his communication throughout the process, prompt. My husband and I were so thrilled after getting back the painting that we had Charles frame and preserve two additional works from my late father. Charles is professional and very knowledgeable. His attention to detail shows how much he cares about his customers and his craft. Peninsula Custom Framing & Gallery is now our go-to business for all of our artwork needs.

Excellent stretching of our artwork! We went on a cruise over the summer and picked up some canvases. Brought them in for professional stretching onto a wooden frame. Turned out perfect! There was even one painting that was damaged and they were able to touch it up for me. I appreciate the dedication and hard work. I'll be back!

I got two art pieces worked on. One was a print that needed a frame, another was a large framed artwork I found at Goodwill that needed its frame fixed and restored.

I received a great consultation about my pieces prior to work being done, and it was very affordable! I was informed about paying a deposit and then the rest upon delivery, or payment up front. I appreciated having options! I paid up front. In not much time later I received messages with pictures showing the completed work. I was very satisfied with the work! It was worth every penny.

8/5 stars! Friendly. Trustworthy. Timely. BEAUTIFUL work. My father-in-law gave my husband and me some art prints that he picked up from an artist he knew while living in Tokyo about 35 years ago. One was damaged and created a bit of a challenge for framing. I had an idea in my head but no clue what to ask for or if it was possible. Enter Charles. When I called to ask for direction on this issue he invited me to bring the art in so he could have a look. The rest is history. We ended up with two beautiful pieces that I cannot wait to hang up in our home. I've already dropped off more things for him and have a backlog of other items to take. He does a great job of listening to the customer and also providing direction and expertise and I have no reservations about dropping off valuable and sentimental items with him as I know they'll be in good hands. Oh and the cost...well it was SIGNIFICANTLY less than I was anticipating - certainly not cheap, but would you want to trust your prized items to Joe Schmo at the "discount" frame shop? Probably not. At Peninsula Custom you will find both great knowledge and a wide choice of options. Charles could not be more charming and spent as much time as we needed to choose the best framing option for our two modest items - a painting by my niece and a very old poster of my husband's that had been tightly rolled up for the last 40 years. Both had great sentimental value and we were thrilled with the finished result. I would not hesitate to entrust Charles with much more valuable items too. We have already made a second visit to him with a third item to frame. Having recently moved to the area from overseas we found Charles via these online reviews .
