Best salmon cakes ever and they’re huge! Really good catfish and all the sides were great! My daughter took me there after church. We will definitely be returning!

We stopped in today and I ordered the whiting, shrimp, collard greens, and fried okra. My husband ordered a hamburger patty covered in mashed potatoes and gravy. When they say Sunday cooking every day, they MEAN IT! The food, service, and atmosphere were all outstanding!!

In my few times I've ordered here the Food is great! Sure the store is in an odd place that is alittle hard to find but in my personal opinion it's a hidden gem! God bless the people who work there and their kind service.

Everytime we eat here it's a 10/10! The porkchops , macaroni and cheese and mashed potatoes are always amazing!

You have to first understand, this place is in a gas station with a big sign and small letters. It's easy to miss. But if you go inside. The staff is friendly and very ready to help with anything you might need. The food is always on point. And the prices are pre pandemic prices. Everyone talks to you and are very hospitable. Ita usually not crowded. Don't take it as a bad omin. They seem to do more carry out than sit down service. You can go eat for less than you'd eat at McDonald's, but get a world of flavor. I can not stress enough the value for money. Give it a try if you can. You won't be disappointed. They also have very interesting specials [ex. Frogs legs, ox tail, pigs feet]

Kevin greeted me talked about me being new there and recommended the 2 catfish dinner with 2 sides. Boyyyy that catch fish melted in my mouth along with the fried okra ( couldn’t have been cooked better) and the homemade Mac n cheese finished it off. It was a lot of food for your Monday, I still have half piece of fish and some Mac left. I don’t usually review places but I felt like this place deserved it! Thanks again Kevin!

1st time tonight we picked up some whiting and sides. After talking with Kevin...super nice guy btw... we will definitely be repeat customers. Got home the fish was hot and delicious. I can't wait to try the cakes out!! Definitely try this place!!

I literally want to scream from a rooftop about how good the food is here. I wasn’t sure what to expect. But it was delicious. it was the best food I’ve had from a restaurant in a long time. Genuine home cooked food. Definitely check this place out. Owner is a super nice guy. We will definitely be regulars.

If you’re in Powhatan and looking for somewhere to eat and want what tastes like grandma’s home cooked supper do not pass up on this place. We picked up the family meal for a quick and easy dinner and it did not disappoint. We will be back for sure!

Finally got the chance to try Mama Brown’s for lunch and I am glad I did! The chicken salad was great with a side of onion rings. Also, the staff was super friendly. Best news is that they will begin delivery next week to underserved Western Powhatan! We will be back!

The food here is absolutely great. Plenty of it and very reasonable. I love mama's picture on the wall, she always makes me smile.

Mama Brown’s is where it’s at! Sad that they left Farmville, but I’m glad they’re not too far for me to get a great meal! My catfish & shrimp meal was DELICIOUS 😋
