Great place for an affordable kayak rental if you’re looking to do some peaceful paddling on your own rather than a self-guided tour. Very reasonably priced, no wait even on a busy holiday weekend. The sweet couple who owns the shop will make sure you’ve got everything you need for a great time on the water!

What a great shop! The two people we dealt with could not have been nicer. Even though it was a weekday in the off-season and their shop was not officially open, they went out of their way to get us the rental equipment we needed. And the price couldn’t be beat. Check them out for all your rental needs!

Kind,informative staff, all sorts of land and water gear and access the one of the most beautiful views of Chincoteague. We rented two kayaks,got a map with excellent directions and set off on an adventure.
We got to see all sorts of wild life,some of which you simply can't see from land. Spend two beautiful and affordable hours on the water and can't wait to do it again.

Chincoteague is a friendly laid back sort of place and the folks here optimize this culture. The staff were really trusting, friendly and went out of their way to make sure we enjoyed our three hour kayak rental. They also made sure we were safe and comfortable getting in and out of the kayak. Kayaking around their recommended route was a wonderful experience and great value. We took along our phones and camera in a dry bag and got some good shots.

Excellent rental store on the island! Reasonable daily and weekly rates. We rented a large beach umbrella (same quality as 5 star hotels), 2 beach chairs, and 2 paddle boards. Everything was very high quality and looked like new. They must take great care at making sure everything remains in great working condition.

We have been coming to Chincoteague for years and a few years ago started renting kayaks and paddle boards. This year we expanded and also rented bikes. The equipment is well maintained and the service is fantastic. They have everything you need and even what you don’t need. We will be back next year and we will be renting from C I O

I didn't think that this rental business would be able to assist me with fixing a flat tire on my own bike, but I stopped by just in case...and I was pleasantly surprised. Hannah was wonderful. She fixed the flat and then some. Excellent service.

They are incredibly helpful. It was my first time kayaking and they were great instructing me on what to do! They have a launch in their dock and a bar across the top to assist in getting in/ out of the kayak. Excellent experience!

We had a great experience. The staff is very friendly and even took the time to gives us some tips on where we should visit while there. We rented two bikes for the day and would use them again.

My sisters and I rented bikes one day and kayaks the next day from this business. The couple who runs this business are super & VERY accommodating! I highly recommend them! Also very affordable prices. Check them out if you come to Chincoteague!!

We had an amazing tour by hanna here, she was so warm and welcoming. Everyone working here was so nice and friendly. We got rained on, so they provided us with towels, water, dry tshirts, excellent service. She took photos of us when we were out on the water. amazing experience!

We used Chincoteague Island Outfitters to rent kayaks for half a day. Everyone at the shop was amazing! They were some of the nicest people I have met anywhere in a very long time. I called several times leading up to our trip and they were always kind and patient with all of my questions. They were knowledgeable and accommodating and really went above and beyond. I highly recommend using this company for anything you need while on Chincoteague!

We stopped by earlier in the morning, after catching the sunrise, and then breakfast at Mr. Baldy's. We were immediately greeted as we walked up to the counter. We inquired about renting a tandem kayak and they had one left. We asked if we could come back in a bit, as we had to check out of our place. The young woman behind the counter told us no problem and we went on our merry way.

It was probably an hour before we made it back. I walked inside and was greeted once again by the same young woman. She provided me with a map and showed me the best route of travel (based on the tide and current conditions). She helped launch us into the water and that's where our journey began. We had a blast! Great views and gorgeous weather. We ended up taking most of the 4 hours (half-day rental).
Once we got back, we were a bit concerned because we were sweaty, salty, and had reservations at Bill's Prime Seafood. We were looking for a place to take a shower, to freshen up. We decided to walk back to the shop and allow our clothes to air dry. About halfway there, the same young woman offered to pick us up with her golf cart, we gladly accepted. She thought we got blocked in by another vehicle. We asked her if they had an outdoor shower, but they did not. However, she offered the use of the outdoor hose, that they use to clean the rental equipment. We gladly took her up on it. What a relief!

We walked back to the truck and all I could think about was getting her name so I could share our story. I went back to where we launched and I asked another employee what her name was and she replied, "Hanna". I believe it was mamma. If you're reading mamma, you did well raising your daughter. Hanna, thank you for your kindness and generosity. I look forward to coming back and renting from y’all.

Great local store for renting kayaks and other beach gear. Plenty of parking and the staff is lovely. They also have all kinds of other beach appropriate toys and nicknacks; and shopping here supports local business over large chains. Highly recommended.

My girlfriend and I went on a trip here and we decided we wanted to rent a paddle board and it made the vacation that much more fun, the owners were very nice, price was great, and even let us use straps Bec we didn’t have any, couldn’t be happier with this business

Tammy is extremely kind and patient with us touristy types:). She took time to show this nervous Nellie how to navigate the channel without a guide. They bring the kayaks to you and you launch yourself and guide yourself. The kayaks seemed great and the experience of gliding down the Assateague Channel on a sunny, summer afternoon was amazing.

Rented bikes here. Great experience all around. The staff were great at recommending bikes for what we needed! Great service!
