I visited here during the winter - off season for sure, but this place still has a great vibe when the shop is not so busy.

I explained I had never been here before and asked “what’s good”. Everything, was the answer and she was not exaggerating.

Unique flavors named after relevant local culture (like Salt Marsh). But also the unique contrasting flavors like Whisky Brickle. Oh my!

Plenty of parking (off season remember) and worth the drive from just about anywhere. Thanks for the cheat on my diet.

Great service, lots of parking. Loved their waffle cones- very different from what I’m used to but delicious nonetheless! Fully recommend the Salt Marsh!

The aroma when you walk in the door at island creamery should be a Yankee candle, this is my all time favorite ice cream place. They make the waffle cones in house with their own waffle batter, it's amazing. Soft but crunchy and such good flavor. I love the cake batter ice cream, but they have so many flavors to choose from!

When they others say that their ice cream is one of the best, it definitely is. I had the rocket fuel and pony tracks on a waffle cone. The waffle cone was soft and freshly made. They said the rocket fuel was like a spicy chocolate and I didn't believe it at first but it definitely was. It was weird to taste but I'm glad I had the experience to taste it. The cinnamon on the ice cream makes it spicy. When I asked the staff member what he recommends between rocket fuel and pony tracks, he told me it's the pony tracks... and he was definitely right! The vanilla on the ice cream was a different kind of creamy from your usual ice cream places. If you're to get any flavor, get the vanilla or the pony tracks that will take your tongue on a good ride.

As for parking, there's parking in front or on the side. There's some parking on the other side by the restaurant but all parking spots are actually pretty slim and the place can get packed. On a nice summer, sunny day, the line is out of the door.

You have to stop here if you come to Chincoteague. The flow and the presentation are awesome. The ice cream tasted great also! A continuous line of people while we were there. Very popular. I can see why.

Delicious ice cream! The salted marsh and salted caramel pretzel are two of our favorites. The waffle cones are different, not my favorite.

Not a huge fan of the waffle cone, since I love mine stronger and crunchier, but it was fresh nonetheless!

The cherry vanilla and the chocolate was FANTASTIC!!! HUGE Portions and cost was on the pricey side for 2 scoops each and a waffle cone for about $17, but well worth the stop!!!

Soo good! The ice cream was delicious. The place was clean and the people were very friendly. A great place to stop for a treat. They allow you to try a little bit if you aren't sure you'll like the flavor

The ice cream here is absolutely amazing. Probably the best I've had. Don't let the long lines scare you, it moves very quickly.

My husband and I loved everything about this place. The customer service was awesome!!! The sundae my husband got was really really delicious. This was the highlight to our mini vacation

Most often has a long line, but the wait is worth it….typically why the line stays long. Once inside the visit goes quicker. Great home made ice cream flavors, and they have sugar free as well. I had a very enjoyable vanilla shake.
Definitely a great place to stop!

This place is very busy, and for good reason. The waffle cones are made fresh and they're so good! I had key lime pie ice cream, definitely recommend!

I recently started eating foods without sugar so learning about the island creamery when I came to Chincoteague was kind of sad for me because I thought I'd be left out and not able to order anything. However, they actually have a couple of sugar-free ice cream options! I was 12 and it was delicious. We came here twice so far within the same week. Probably not the smartest thing when you're trying to eat healthy, but it really is that good that we could not stay away.

Oh, and we counted about 9 -10 young men and women behind the counter. They really keep the line moving. And let me assure you that there is quite a line! Regardless, even arriving when the line was out the door, we were in and out within about 5 minutes. They have a phenomenal system that is quite efficient.

This place is busy but it's also votes best in the country. The ice cream is fresh and creamy. Lots of flavors.

We always stop by the creamery on our yearly visit. Sometimes the line it out the door, but it moves quickly. The staff is fast, friendly, and efficient. Love the variety of flavors and the creativity.

OMG! The absolute BEST ice cream!! Good selection, delicious flavors, creamy/velvety ice cream. We visited off-season and were able to get in without waiting. This creamery tends to have long wait-lines during on-season months. And it's no wonder! It's definitely worth the wait! Yum!!!

We love Island Creamery! Some of the best ice cream I’ve ever had! Their waffle cones are delicious and you can smell waffle cones as soon as you open the door. They have an area where you can buy shirts and hats as well. The lines can be long, especially in the summer-evenings after dinner. In between lunch and dinner isn’t as busy and a good time to go if you have young kids who don’t want to or don’t do well waiting in a long line.
If you’re in the area, you must stop in and try them out!

I’d highly recommend stopping by the Island Creamery. If the small parking lot in front is full don’t despair, there is parking in the back that you can utilize.

The ice cream was delicious! Lots of unique flavors to choose from, too. We have tried several different flavors, and enjoyed them all! As an allergy mom, I am always wary of cross-contamination when ordering anything for my allergy kids. There are 3 vegan options of coconut ice cream, and 1 sorbet, but since we have a severe dairy allergy, I asked about the preparation. It can be scooped from the back, and there is a separate area for allergy preparation. There are even different cups, and they were bagged separately in specific bags when we took it to go. We had no allergy reactions, meaning there was no cross contamination. I am very impressed and will definitely be back!
