Mister Whippy

Such a fabulous ice cream shop! The staff were warm, helpful, polite, and treated us like family! We loved the experience at Mr. Whippy’s more than Island Creamery. We tried about 20 things between our party of 10 while on the island for over a week! Delicious!!

Coming to Chincoteague for the first time I was warned about that famous ice cream rivalry on the island; Creamery or Mr. Whippy. I'd summarize the difference as follows:

It depends on what your vacation mode is. If you're here for vacation and want to get ice cream twice or three times a day because of the heat, you'll want Mr. Whippy. Whippy's is a lot lighter and more refreshing in my mind and doesn't fill you up much at all. While they're basically only 3 flavors (vanilla, twist, and chocolate), it scratches the ice cream itch pretty handedly, if you want anything heavier and more rich, head to the Creamery.

mister whippy is wonderful. great ice cream, and donuts. we visited twice over our weekend stay. the qaffle cone fits at least 4 scoops of ice cream so you may want to plan to share. their milk shakes are too notch. one thing of note the shop is cash only so bring cash if going through the drive through. they do have an ATM on the inside. the drive through lane is tight so careful If you have a larger vehicle.

Officially my favorite coffee place now. We got the frozen caramel coffee smoothie. Yum! Banana chocolate chip muffins were super good. Real bananas and moist.

Got bunny butt cupcakes for a Easter surprise for my daughter.

Got a birthday cake for my daughter. Absolutely amazing looking and tasted just as good. 1000% recommend all the backed good here!

Reasonably priced delicious ice cream creations! They have a nice coffee shop too. However, in this day of technology, please be advised this is still a CASH ONLY business but there is an ATM inside which I used. This was my banana split! Yum!

Coffee was great on a mild Memorial Day weekend. Much needed after mini golf in the rain. Kids got ice cream, of course. Stellar flavor.

I really love this place. It's a little farther of a walk from where we were staying but well worth it! I really enjoy Mr. Whippy. The coffee selection is worth stopping in for me, but the ice cream is way more amazing.

Great place to get coffee and donuts! We tried Sandy Pony and now Mr. Whippy. The verdict: Mr. Whippy wins!

Pros:
A lot of choices! They also have a special of the day donut, which we tried. The raspberry and strawberry topped donut.

A Full Size donut! You actually get a full size normal donut. I was surprised that Sandy Pony donuts we mini donuts! My first question at Mr. Whippy…. are the donuts full size? Reply…. Yes!

Not cake thick donuts! These were light and fluffy. I would say in between Krispy Kreme and Duncan! I prefer Krispy Kreme and I think Duncan is a little to bread like. Mr. Whippy was right in the middle. If I can’t get fresh Krispy Kreme than Mr. Whippy meets the donut hunger very nicely!

Cons:
My only critique is the frosting could be a little more refined. While still very good, a glaze like frosting would have made this decadent!

Overall:
If your looking for a great satisfying morning donut or even dessert, Mr. Whippy in my opinion is the place to go on. Chincoteague island.

It is cash only, but they do have an ATM inside, which is great and convenient.

Sandy Pony Donuts, small, a little overpriced, slightly greasy, and well…. something I could make at home at a fraction of the price. I was really looking forward to the bacon donut but was very disappointed. More bacon crumble than bacon. In my opinion, if I had to choose as a Chincoteague spot to enjoy donuts, it would be Mr. Whippy!

I haven't tried the Ice Cream, that will be next visit to the island!

GREAT!!! Thanks so much for giving my family great ice cream for great value! The have soft serve vanilla, chocolate & twist with many options of different ways to enjoy! We come here every time we visit Chincoteague. Thanks for supporting 'Rise Up Coffee' of Easton. Suggestion. Computerized ordering on order computer, have dessert only makers, You will double profits!

Great soft serve ice cream! I have been coming here for years. A Chincoteague must stop! Shown in the pics are an Oreo Cookie Sundae and a Berry Sundae. Both were outstanding. My favorite is the chocolate-vanilla twist dipped cone. Prices are reasonable. There is usually a line but worth the wait! Cash only.

It's soft served ice cream out of a machine, how can you screw it up you know? It feels like an ice cream truck within a store. Good thing to note is that it is CASH ONLY!

Delicious soft serve!! CASH ONLY. They were extremely busy on a Friday night, but the waffle cone was huge and delicious. I love that it comes with a little bottom of cone protective cup thing so it doesn't leak all over you. Cute knick-knacks and old school stuff inside too.

This is the best ice cream shop in the history of the world and it had a baby called Lil whippy so you should come here for all of your meals.

Great heaping piles of toppings and soft serve ice cream! As an adult it brought the kid out in me trying to finish this smores mountain. I failed...

My coffee was very flavorful and hot perfect for the cool wet morning I came into the shop. I purchased a dozen donuts and they were just amazing I don’t think a dozen was even close to enough, I could have easily eaten two dozen.
Next time I’ll have to try the ice cream but if it’s anywhere has good as their donuts I think I need to let out my belt to make room. So so good. Can’t wait to be back.

My first experience was at opening, 7 AM. Greeted by, whom I am assuming is the owner or manager, doors opened a little before the hour. Fresh smells & good music. Such a cute spot, donuts are in the back right corner as normal ice cream service operates out of the front counters.

Indoor/outdoor seating with car & bike parking available. A favorite spot in town and daily visitor on family vacation, sometimes on multiple occasions for donuts in the AM and ice cream in the PM. Lines get long so be early or patient!

The service and donuts were great. The drive thru was long so we went inside.

Five stars!!! Great service. Great ice cream. Great drive through. The portions are large. The waffle cone soft serve was like having lunch. Their Resees sundae was luscious and perfectly crafted!! A must go spot on Chincoteague.
