The Boathouse Bar and Grill-Put-In-Bay, OH

Really good food with a vegan option!!! I was not expecting to be able to eat anything here but was super excited to see on the menu a black bean burger. And our server Devin was very nice and checked with the kitchen to confirm that the burger was vegan. He also confirmed that the fries are fried in canola oil. I was super happy to have this as an option and it was really good. Kinda pricey but same as the rest of the island. It would be great if at some point they added another vegan option since they already are attracting vegans with their black bean burger, but I truly cannot complain considering it’s put in bay and the options are nonexistent

Food and service is consistently good. Decent prices, most dishes $14-20, $5 beers and $10 cocktails. Normal for the island. We come for the sweet potato fries and po boys (w/ blackened chicken) and the vibe. The outdoor seating is in a great corner spot.

I loved this bar a lot for the food. We sat in open air section adjoining the road and dint feel disturbance of any sort. We ordered a lot of food including sea food and I must say that everything was good. We were there on the memorial day weekend yet the Pele here are really nice.
The sea food platter here is delicious. Fish was really very fresh. Recommend highly.

The perch po boy was excellent, but DO NOT SKIP THE KOREAN BBQ WINGS. Seriously, these were amazing. Quick service, family-friendly atmosphere, and great for people watching. Located near the Jet Express on the north end of the island, is conveniently located near the shops, monument and Jet Express.

From the door to floor the customer service was amazing! My food was delicious and my experience helped make my birthday weekend extra special.

Amazing food. We were in a group of 4 and triedamh vegetarian and non vegetarian options. All of the food had great taste to it. We had great time there. Could be bit pricey (maybe).

Fantastic bar, service and food. Due to being on a business trip on the mainland, I was a party of one at the bar for lunch. No problem, a nice lady took my order then stuck around to chat. I appreciated the conversation, the beer was cold and then the food came out. Wow! Cajun Mac-n-cheese was outstanding.

The noon crowd was older, like me, with day drinkers dancing to the oldies tunes. It was festive but not raucous, just people having a good time.

One of these days I intend to bring my wife to South Bass Island and I know right were to take her for a good meal...The Boathouse!

This place was packed on a Saturday when we stopped with our kids, but surprisingly great service and food! Our waiter was great and helped us figure out the best menu items since we had never eaten here. The food was all amazing! The chicken tenders, brats, kale coleslaw, burger, all was amazing! We would definitely visit again when we are at Put-in-Bay.

This is a nice area. Gift shops, bars, and restaurants included here. You can sit right near the water or eat in an air conditioned facility.

Had a fun time - great music from That 80's Band.

Great food, small drinks, fair prices, pleasant bar maid, huge building, great music.

Came for a bachelor party and left very satisfied at the close of the night. I was quickly served by a knowledgeable bartender (who even knew what my oddball drink was without a reference) and had no problem getting from the bar to the dance floor and back. The music had a good variety that kept the energy up and the other dancers looked to be having a good time without things looking sloppy. Our folks danced with a few others and everyone looked like they were having a good time. Parking wasn't too bad and getting out at the end was easy enough. I would visit again!

Great food but EXPENSIVE like everything else in Put In Bay. You will pay $20-$30 a person. Food was filling, tastes great and hot! Takes a little bit to be delivered to the table but this is to be expected since they are very busy. Our server did an excellent job keeping our drinks full so service is A+!! ONLY COMPLAINT...the carousel directly across the road was blaring the music WAY TOO LOUD.

Sean d is an amazing server he was very helpful and had a great attitude about the amount of questions me and my girlfriend asked due to her being vegan the veggie burger wrap chef Drew invented for us is a master piece and I feel it should be put on the menu thank you for all the help chef drew even took time out of his busy day to thank us for the compliment on his master cooking and I highly recommend boathouse to everyone

Went on a Thursday before the huge PIB crowds and ate here. We had two dogs with us and the restaurant and staff were great with us and the dogs. Food was decent- standard bar stuff but I’d definitely come again.

Excellent perch Po Boy! The atmosphere was great. Nice bar.

I tend to order walleye when visiting the Lake and this place had the best. The blackened walleye in the po-boy sandwich was excellent. I love it when it’s not covered in batter or breading. We were a large party and they handled the entire order efficiently.

Cannot say enough great things about Mike (a manager I think) met him on a night out and he was incredibly kind and down to earth. He truly was a lifesaver for my friends and I. Such a GREAT guy! I hope nothing but great things happen for him! Saved us from a crazy bathroom lunatic and even gave us a ride home instead of waiting for a taxi at 2am. He was nothing but kind and humble. Hope to run into him again someday on the island!

We got there right as they were opening, so it was very low-key without too much distraction. Our server, a young named Moose (I believe?), was super nice! We just grabbed a couple of appetizers for lunch. The pretzel bites with super delicious queso cheese were perfectly cooked, and I highly recommend the quesadilla with the addition of chicken and peppers! The size and taste were definitely worth the $20 price tag. I'll be going here again for sure once I make it back to the island!
