When I first read an article about best bagels shop being in Berkeley I laughed. Not because there are no good bagels on West Coast, but because bagels are in States pretty much equal to NYC.

But when NY Times claimed so, I decided to check it out. And since they opened in Palo Alto I decided to try it today.

Everything is true. They are best bagels in States. Hands down. Probably most expensive to.

I ordered one toasted everything bagel 🥯 with lox spread. And it was $6.50.

But honestly it was really worth it.

Highly recommend .

I've been here twice now and I absolutely LOVE these bagels. They have a really nice chew to them without being overly chewy if that makes sense. The lox spread is amazing. I would HIGHLY recommend giving this place a try. The parking lot can get a little crazy but overall not terrible parking at all. Everyone is super nice and friendly. There's no dine in area as this place is rather small but there are a couple of tables outside. The only thing I would say is ALWAYS double check your order. The first time we went, we did a bigger online order and they couldn't find it, once they found the order they attempted to give me not even half the order, when I brought to their attention, they said that was all on the order and then said it didn't come through on the receipt and were able to locate it. The second time, I ordered at the counter and they almost didn't give me the tube fish salad that was ordered because it didn't come through initially. They are always super nice about it but just make sure you have your receipt and double check. I know it's not malicious in any ways but more an annoyance if you were to get home and be missing items. It won't deter me from going back at all, truly love this place.

Was very good. Staff was friendly. Lox / salmon is pretty expensive if you add it ($10 dollars extra). Otherwise reasonably price for a fresh bagel $3.

Ordered cinnamon raisin + seasonal strawberry cream cheese + tomato + cucumber + tuna salad. Of course weird combo won’t try next time (sweet and savory just need to separate), but ingredients are fresh, bagel is the level of chewy I enjoy (not too chewy that you can’t even swallow). Very generous portion of tuna salad was given.

Best bagels in the Peninsula & S. Bay. A close second to Daily Driver in SF. Perfect chewy texture and mild crunchy exterior. The sesame seed bagels should be cooked longer; seeds should be light brown not white. Still everything here is excellent along with the service. Love this place; A+++

Best bagel I’ve had in California.
I was home in the NY area eating a lot of bagels this past week and I can tell you this is a good bagel. Yes it’s a little expensive (the Lox bagel sandwich was around $15, so I just got the lox spread bagel for around $7 instead). Slightly crispy exterior and flavorful Everything Bagel topping.

If you’re in the area, I would recommend this over Izzy’s (though Izzy’s is still good if you’re by California Avenue). Will update my review after multiple visits if my opinion changes!

So good! They put quite a bit of cream cheese so if you like it with less, be sure to ask. The bagels are crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. They taste freshly made.

Loved the food, friendly staff. So happy they have kite hill vegan cream cheese. The people I was there with said their food was amazing too. Wish they have indoor seating, but other than that no complaints, would go back!

Sadly the everything bagels were sold out when I arrived but the onion bagel was amazing! Totally recommend.

Best bagel and lox of my life! Salt & pepper
Bagel, chive cream cheese, and capers. Nice and fluffy bagel. Crispy on the outside, chewy on the inside. Tons of lox. Just perfect.

The kindest people! Also the best bagels in the Bay Area! I placed an order early to pick up, but there was confusion on the toast app but they totally hooked me up!

Had the classic lox on an everything bagel (toasted)! It was great — I really enjoyed the tomato addition as well! Filling for sure!

5stars means these are genuinely the best bagels I’ve ever had. Beautifully crispy and chewy and flavorful. I’ll make a point of stopping here any time I’m in Palo Alto. One word on the sandwiches though … they are American-sized. In the future I’ll ask them to use half the normal amount of fillings because I don’t want to dislocate my jaw trying to fit the sandwich in my mouth.

The best bagel in the world (*independently verified) is finally available fresh on the peninsula! Rejoice! The East Bay location will always have a special place in my heart.

Don’t mind the wait, you won’t want to miss out on these bagels. Thank you Boichik!

Order ahead is the only way to visit this spot. The lines are long and there are very few spots to sit.
