Amazing Alonzo Bookstore

I lived directly next to this place years ago and returning to it, it's really held its charm for so long. If organization is important to you, maybe this wouldn't be your favorite place to shop. But if you're looking to widen your horizons, this place has such a fun variety and so much to browse.

This is an awesome little place that has a ton of books!!! Many different genres and the store just keeps going!

So glad I stopped into Amazing Alonzo! I experienced great customer service and found a new favorite place! They do book trade-ins so I'll definitely be back to take advantage of that.

Really nice bookstore - good selection and reasonable pricing, clean and well-lit to make browsing easy. It’s a relatively small store (there are several rooms, so there’s a good number of books but no single room is particularly large) but it wasn’t crowded when we were there on a Saturday morning. The owner was friendly and helpful. It’d be hard to visit without finding some good reads.

Awesome place to visit. If you are a nerd who loves books, this place is heaven. There's doorway after doorway of books. When you think you've seen it all, there are more. The owner is amazing. She makes some really cute hats and other trinkets. Highly recommend getting them as gifts! It's my favorite little hidden treasure in Duluth!

Lots of great book and a great place to read!

I love this store. I went to college in Duluth and read for fun. This store allowed me to collect a lot of the books I was looking for at a very good price. The trade-in policy rewards your loyalty by giving you much better prices and helps them build inventory. Hardcover books can be a real steal here as well as older paperbacks as most hardcovers sell for a low flat rate and old paperbacks here sell for a fraction of their minute original price. The owner operates the place most days and is a sweet old lady who I consider a near local celebrity. Stop in and browse through the genres and get a little lost on the tight shelves of the little store.

A wonderful used bookshop. Clean and organized, the interior is pleasantly maze-like, with cramped corners just spilling books onto every available surface. Go with an open mind, and don’t hang your hopes on any specific title. Just browse and enjoy the hunt. And tell Barb “Angela says hi.”

This is by far the best second hand book store in Duluth and the surrounding area. While it is a bit small, I've never gone in there without finding something unexpected and the owner is the nicest person you could hope to meet without being pushy.

In addition to books of any genre, there is also a small selection of movies and books on cd. The owner and some of the staff also knit/crochet and sell some of the finished products through the store and I can say from experience that someone has an eye for colours.

Went to Duluth recently and checked out this store and another bookstore in town. Lots of books! I thought the prices were great. Clerk said they basically sell books 60% off list price. Everything I got looks brand new.

I am so glad that Amazing Alonzo is still in business ....When I was a high school student in the late 1970s and early 1980s I loved to read and every summer I would walk over to the book store and browse the shelves ...I didn't know what I was looking for but I knew when I saw it ...I went to college in St. Paul and when I cane back to Duluth for the summer I continued shopping at this wonderful hole-in-the wall shop ....

I love this bookstore! I try to stop by every time I am in Duluth. Terrific selection of all types of books. Pro tip: the hard back books are especially cheap!
