Petersen's Ice Cream and Cafe

This is such a cute little ice cream shop! Perfect for hot summer days. They have a great variety of ice creams, and the scoops are huge. We will definitely be back!

Stopped at Petersen’s for ice cream on another hot day in the East Valley. A cold scoop or two of Petersen’s Ice Cream is a good way to break the heat. The Gilbert, Arizona location at 366 N. Gilbert Rd offers lots of choices to satisfy ice cream lovers. I sat on a stool and watched one of Petersen’s staff members make homemade waffle cones.

Nice looking little ice cream parlor, even better tasting ice cream. Jacked up Tennessee toffee flavor is great. Son liked the cotton candy twist.

You got some money to burn in downtown Gilbert go to Peterson.

This is a great little place to get your ice cream! It is a little bit pricey, but the people who work there are so kind! Go there!

Great ice cream in a really fun atmosphere! We tried the amaretto cherry and "pothole" which is a delicious chocolate concoction. Definitely the place to stop for dessert in downtown Gilbert!

This ice cream place was delicious, nice to meet fellow Chicagoan transplants. The Chicago pothole is freaking good!!!!! Served with a nice warm brownie. The Monster cookie is also a must try

This place has a retro old school vibe - yet amazing ice cream. I only had a single scoop tonight, but the New York Cherry is delicious!

Limited seating, and is pretty popular, so that means finding a place to sit down could be a challenge. Indoor and outdoor seating available.

The staff were quick and polite. Got our orders correct.

Tons of tempting flavors to choose from! Everything we tried was delicious. Scoop size was very good too 👍. A bit expensive but that's probably because of the great location. Only a few seats inside so be aware on a hot day. Looking forward to returning and trying more flavors!

Delicious ice cream and nice staff. The location is nicely decorated and brightly lit. Had a great date here and hung out on the patio. The music is nice but a little loud coming from the outside speakers; it made our conversation a little challenging at times. Also, the only location I've found that has Superman ice cream and Blue Moon, which are flavors my husband often only found in the Midwest.

Cute little ice cream cafe that people can also get coffee or floats at. Service was quick and the selection is bigger than some ice cream establishments. They have a few rare flavors as a nice place to take a picture in.

Me and my son found this little ice cream shop just around the corner of Level 1 Arcade... They have a great selection of ice creams to choose from as well as cones... We definitely will be coming back here for seconds...

Great price and fun options. Shared a peach I've cream sandwich with brownies for under $5. A steal. The ice cream is super smooth and the peach flavor is amazing. The place smells like Disneyland in all the right ways.

My husband was super excited to find Superman ice cream and it was just like he remembered. He hasn't found it for 20 plus years. Nice ambiance. Friendly & quick service.

We stopped in Saturday night 7/30 around 7pm, a young man helped us buy unfortunately I didn't get his name. He had short hair and glasses. He was very welcoming, pleasant, and had a smile the entire time when we were ordering. Was very nice to see someone that didn't give us us the "I hate my job" face. This was our first visit and we'll be back, hopefully my wife and I will get a chance to have this young man help us again.

I loved this place! It has an old vintage look but with a slight modern feel. The ice cream is great and the waffle cone or waffle bowl is so crisp and fresh it practically falls apart. Can't wait to go back 🤤
