There was so much more to this Museum and grounds than I thought. It was great to talk to the volunteers, learn more about them, thank them for their efforts and for passing on their knowledge of the area's history. No tickets needed.

The Museum was awesome, full of rich history on the Lost Dutchman and the Superstition Mountains. Didn't get to see the rest of the park and plan to go back soon. This is a must visit place if in the Apache Junction area.

Great fun for the whole family! Lots of signs to watch out for snakes so maybe wear boots. I didn’t see any snakes but it is wise to stay on the paths and not wander off.

I have been to the museum a few times and it is very interesting and informative, but on Saturday January 20th they held a Native American Arts Festival that was wonderful, they had vendors from several different tribes, Navajo, Apache, Hopi, etc, they also had dance performances by the Yellow Bird Indian Dancers, which was fascinating and beautiful.

I found this intriguing yet quaint. Staff seems dedicated. Nice small gift store with surprising fair prices! Best prices I've ever seen in a tourist gift store.

This stop is one for the books. Let's start with the Elvis movie that was filmed here on location, Charro!. There is authentic Navajo jewelry and beadwork for sale, sold outside the museum by such sweet ladies. Being potawatomi, I spoke my language for them and in return they spoke theirs. Inside you can tour the museum for a small fee, and also shop great AZ finds!

Wow! A must see! Worth a return visit too!
I’m shocked this awesome experience is free! I spent a good chunk of time here and it was very enjoyable! Could’ve spent more time here but we got thirsty lol.

The gift shop does sell some drinks and snacks as well as souvenirs at reasonable prices!

You can learn about mining, ancient native culture, trains, desert life, plant varieties, and more! Very cool no matter your age!

Who's headed out to tortilla flats on the motorcycle? I went to this little place.
Pretty cool spot, definitely picture worthy.

So so cute. Worth the trip out and my favorite part was the miniatures all around the train set.

It was cool to see some of the things in the documentaries we've watched recently. Our tour guide Karen was terrific.

Great stop to see and learn about the history of the Superstition Mountains area. They have an operating 5 stamp mill (actually a section of a much larger 20 stamp mill) that was moved here, and was used to crush gold bearing ore to a sandy or almost powdery form for subsequent gold extraction. There is also an outdoor large scale model railroad that kids will enjoy, buildings that were once part of a set used for filming western movies, and a recreated Native American village. One of the movie set buildings is a chapel that was used in several films, including one that Elvis starred in. All these outside exhibits are FREE to roam around. The main museum building has a gift shop and a collection of indoor exhibits that cover the history of the area from the Native American inhabitants to the gold mining to current day. You will see lots of information on the legendary Lost Dutchman Mine. There is a small fee for the indoor exhibits, but it is well worth the cost and it goes to a great cause ..... preserving the history of the area for future generations to see.

I had no idea this museum was this large. We spent over an hour walking the outdoor displays, and we learned so much about the Superstition Mine. Everything was thoughtfully curated, informative, and interesting. Don’t miss the Apacheland movie display tucked away inside the barn, next to the footprints. The Elvis church was a fun surprise!

Everyone was very knowledgeable and especially friendly. They wanted to make sure that you enjoyed your visit.

I got there about 10 am and left just a little before 3 pm. I spent most of my time outside walking up the hill/mountain. It was an easy walk and there were benches to sit, in order to enjoy the various views.

I highly recommend everyone go. If you don't go into the museum area inside the gift shop, there's no charge to see everything outside, including the barn with it's many exhibits, and the Elvis Presley church, where you can book a wedding or special event.

If you want to make a donation, there's several places to drop money 💰 into a donation box. I would recommend making a donation to keep this national treasure open and available.
