Mague's Cafe

This is our first time at Mague's. We came up from San Antonio to browse Bernie and do a little bit of shopping at quilt stores. Needed to get some breakfast. My wife found this online and we decided to give it a try. The place was packed which is a good sign and not a lot of room between tables I would say that service was pretty fast. Professional but not overly friendly. My wife ordered the huevos rancheros and I ordered what I call the Unholy trio, lol, language Taco with guacamole, barbacoa with onion cilantro and jalapenos, and a crispy tripas taco. My wife said that the huevos rancheros for some of the best she's had in a long time. The sauce, potatoes especially, and the tortillas were wonderful. I will second hurry view of the tortillas as they were some of the best I've had in Texas the Barbacoa was spot-on, not too greasy, and the addition of the onions, cilantro, and jalapenos kicked it up a notch. The language is in a sauce and was soft plentiful and very very very very very very tasty. Finally, if you like tripas, these are some of the best around. Not too gamey, cooked well. Finally, the coffee was great also. For 30 bucks including tips, this was a treat. The comments about parking and wheelchair accessibility are as is and in no way reflect on the quality of the meal. I highly recommend this restaurant.

If you find yourself in Boerne and have a craving for old school, retro Tex Mex because you love it as much as I do you will absolutely want to come here for a combo plate. But on the weekend you can also get ppsole! I was torn, but opted for the enchilada plate and was so pleased. And the thick and non-greasy flour tortillas were great.

This place tastes just like it was cooked at your abuela's house!
The tortillas, refried beans and potatoes are how I judge places first. Amazingly good!

After that, of course, everything is great, but you could literally just eat beans and tortillas all day there!

This place is awesome. They have great food and service. The servers are incredibly friendly and amazing. I highly recommend going here.

Always get the Magues Special. So good with the Homemade Tortillas.

Good Lord! I haven't had breakfast tacos this good in a long time! I'm glad I stopped by. I'll be working close by for a few days. I'll be stopping by for breakfast every day 😋

Been coming here since I was a kid.... Same old Mague's. If you want some Tex Mex with the hottest salsa and a full sweet tea and the meltiest cheese for the best prices- Mague's is the place to go.

Got the fajita taco, the Mague's special; husband tried the picadillo and thr chorizo & egg; the tortillas were so soft and fluffy and the filling was fantastic!

Very good food, great service and nice atmosphere. I've been there on 3 occasions for breakfast. I'd like to try lunch soon. Breakfast is definitely a go to there.

Mague's Cafe was recommended for lunch on my quick business trip to the area. The service was quick and our waiter was attentive to the drink refills. The food was excellent and we were served quickly after ordering. I had the Caldo de Pollo, while my co-workers each had the Chicken Soft Tacos. My caldo was excellent and very filling and yes, did have chicken bones in it; a whole chicken leg and thigh! That was a lot of chicken for the caldo. I was also surprised the caldo had concha shells...something different than the usual Caldo de Pollo I've had at other restaurants. My co-workers said they enjoyed their plates of Chicken Soft Tacos which came rolled and served with a sauce on top of them similar to enchiladas.

Oh dam this is great Mexican food, small place so get there early 😋

Been going to Maques for 23+ years. Consistently great. Huevos Rancheros are the best.

Great food just don't order the fideo...it's really salty.

Lots of food for the price, came home with leftovers! Flautas and tacos were made with real tortillas, not prefabricated shells. We will definitely be back.

Stopped by at this place passing through town. The food was very delicious! Reminded me of my own mother's cooking. Great! Very flavorful. I was very surprised that my grandchild ate the Carne guisada that they offer on the children's section. All the food was great! Nice, homey, relaxing atmosphere.

Their caldo de pollo is PERFECT if you’re sick. Hearty, nutritious, and the ultimate sick soup. The best Mexican restaurant in town hands down. Gives off small town family vibes.

Friday evening, just finished returning my moving truck and decided tacos are a great idea. We ordered our food to go. Chicken tacos were very good. The hot salsa was hot as they told me! I liked it!! Another great family place to come back to in Boerne!!!
UPDATE:5.28.2023 lunch, got the soft tacos, chicken....very good. The beans had flavor....fresh rice..
