Sweet Basil California Eatery

My wife and I stopped for a light lunch at the Seeet Basil Eatery in Palm Desert. We were greeted by Martin with a big smile. He showed us to a great table outside. It was a beautiful day. My wife suggested the Caprese salad. That was a wonderful choice. Fresh mixed greens with yummy soft Burrata and excellent balsamic. This fantastic salad came with heirloom tomatoes and some red onion. We asked Martin for a little fresh Parmesan to top our salad and a little olive oil on the side. This was an outstanding lunch, honestly one of the best Caprese salads I’ve ever had. I’m so glad my wife decided to stop here. I left Martin a great tip he earned every penny of it. When you get good food and good service be sure to leave a great tip! I would highly recommend the Sweet Basil California Eatery to anyone. This was truly a 5 star experience!

Loved this little gem. The house pasta is absolutely delicious, my husband had the meatloaf which he said was the best ever( except for mine of course ) Service was impeccable without being overbearing and love the atmosphere. So perfect yet casual.

Great food. Ate outdoors. Great quiet atmosphere. Had Barrimundi and beet salad and olive on bread appetizer. Great service as well. Good value.

This is an excellent restaurant. I had the French dip on Naan bread and it was very good. Also the French press coffee was great too. Good service.

This is a total experience, ambiance, great staff and above all one of the best steaks I've had in years, I could have cut it with a fork, cooked to perfection. The owner is also the chef, all the food is perfection and very personable and accommodating. Great dining experience! Lunch and Sally's pasta is beyond! We did have surf & turf, soup, appetizer and dessert, so it was expensive but then, hey we ordered expensive! There are all prices.

Don't go!! Really....just want to keep this place among friends. 😄. Chef/Owner had the most wonderful palette, creating fabulous appetizers, soups, entrees and unbelievable desserts. Priced well!

My wife and I came to Palm Desert for our 15th anniversary and randomly walked into Sally’s restaurant on a Saturday night. This small gem of a restaurant did not disappoint. My wife had the Sally’s pasta and I had the stuffed filet. Both were on point. Sally and her husband were running the front of the house super well. Definitely recommend this hidden gem.

Great service, delicious and healthy food options! Indoor and outdoor seating. Hubby and I had a lovely lunch!

What a cool place. Great ambiance and really good food and prices. The hostess is awesome and very accommodating and super friendly. The wait staff is all about excellent customer service.They always watch your table, even thou they are super busy. We never had to flag them down for anything. They work as a team helping each other. I highly recommend Sweet Basil California Eatery.

Extremely friendly and efficient service. Some of the best food I have had from a restaurant. The lobster ravioli is not to be missed. The maple glazed and chipotle rubbed pork chop was phenomenal. Even the kids Mac and cheese was extraordinary.

Nice restaurant on El Paseo. Good sandwiches and salads. Easy going setting

Loved every bite. Started with Lobster cakes. Then mushroom soup with spinach. Had chocolate lasagna last and sizzling shrimp. Vowed to return for lobster lasagna. Can't wait. Sally and staff very sweet.

Rex and I were trying to find a good place for dinner tonight and ended up in El Paseo and literally stumbled upon Sweet Basil. The staff is really great, the owner (Sally) was extremely nice and so very helpful and the food was over the top great.

We want to do more "stumbling" like this! Thank you Sally and your great staff. Until we meet again.
