In all my travels, this is my favorite hotel! We have been coming here off and on for 30+ years. When our children were little, we brought all three in the summer for a spectacular summer price. What can I say? Just walking into the hotel lobby is quite an experience! It is open and inviting. There are five floors of balconies. A small river flows down to the lake with a grand staircase on either side. There are boats docked inside, ready to take you around the lake and right to your restaurant. The rooms are clean and comfy. The staff are very friendly and helpful. I like that the pools are large, and there are plenty of lounge chairs to sit on. I enjoy hanging out in the grand lobby. It's so cool and refreshing after walking in the desert heat. I love visiting the pink flamingos who hang out in the lake out front. The long driveway to the hotel is accentuated by colorful flowers, and even the cacti have beautiful flowers. If you want peaceful relaxation, this is the place.

It's near some activities but you definitely need a car for this location. Golfing is great, pool area and hotel restaurants. There some.touristy activities like a tram ride not too far. The hotel bar seems to be a mingling area. There is a boat ride around the hotel via the outside waterway.

Fantastic stay for our golf group in November 2023. Loved the facilities, bars, Starbucks, pools and hot tub. Management is extremely nice and accommodating. We loved it so much we are going back this November.

Diana Solids, the concierge, went above and beyond to assist us with all our dining reservations, offering fantastic suggestions that were perfect for our kids. Her dedication and expertise truly made our stay memorable.
I also want to extend my heartfelt appreciation to Doreen Aldape, the manager, whose kindness, helpfulness, and accommodation towards us were simply fabulous. Her attention to detail and commitment to ensuring our comfort did not go unnoticed.
Alyssa's sweet and helpful demeanor further contributed to the warmth and hospitality we experienced during our stay. Her assistance was invaluable, and we truly appreciated her thoughtful gestures.
Additionally, Courtney deserves recognition for her exceptional assistance at the pool, especially with the cabanas. Her helpfulness and attentiveness added immense value to our leisure time.

We visited the JW Marriott in Desert Springs for our anniversary. Kara Zagone, checked us in and explained all the amenities the hotel offers. There are so many great offerings at this hotel. Kara was warm and personable. She asked if we were celebrating anything during our visit and we told her it was our anniversary. She sent a lovely treat to our room with a beautifully written note. The note really showed she listened and engaged with us.

The rest of the resort and its offerings were wonderful. The room and the view were beautiful. The pool was amazing! We really enjoy the JW Marriott resorts and look for their resorts anytime we travel. They make our vacation experience feel so luxurious and their resorts and staff are exceptional. The Palm Desert offering was incredible!

Came for a last minute trip to Palm Springs and couldn’t ask for anything better. The views all around were picturesque. We did the tennis lessons and it was informative for me (a complete novice) and my partner (definitely not a novice) while still being fun. Food was great everywhere and staff was great. Came around the holidays, decorations were cute.

Oliver at the front desk is amazing! He really helped me out when I was in a bind and provided incredible customer service throughout our stay!! The resort caters to a family crowd and has lots of great activities for children.

We have the suite in front of the pool, I guess that’s a better room. However, they don’t have fan in the shower.
Location is perfect, close to everything.
The hotel entrance is beautiful, I like the palm trees and the flamingos! There’s an arcade downstairs, 2 jacuzzis, 3 heat-up pools, enough space!

I just have to take the time to RAVE about this place. First of all, the negative reviews I saw.. can’t relate. The drive into the resort… gorgeous, we found parking super easy! Walking into the resort, speechless, first thing I noticed was the smell?! Oh my gosh, best hotel fragrance. Then I approached the front desk greeted by BRIANNA (BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE IVE EXPERIENCED IN HOSPITALITY) - she was quick & very knowledgeable) thank you girl! You made our birthday getaway so much more special! Anyway, she checked us in & let me tell you STUNNNNING views from our room. Same thing about walking into our room, very very clean, smelled so good! We unpacked and immediately walked around to see where all the amenities were. The arcade was a blast! Again superrrr clean in there & SO BIG! The pictures don’t do it justice! You definitely get your moneys worth, you can play to win tickets and pick from a great selection of prizes! We went there multiple times during our stay. We played mini golf after that also very fun! as long as there’s golf clubs available inside & the lights are on you’re good to play! & lastly the food. DELICIOUS! We ate wings / fries & sushi at the Aquifer65. So good! Thank you WENDY for being so attentive and for the recommendations! Aquifer65 is the restaurant right in the center of the lobby! lastly my wife did the spa last minute, they had availability and took her in immediately. You’re able to enjoy the spa amenities until 6 pm, you get your moneys worth for sure.

If you’re debating on staying there don’t. It’s for everyone, couples, families with babies to teenagers, older folks. This is a place you won’t need to find things to go outside of it! Everything’s there! Thank you JW Marriott. We’ll be back!

We brought my mom here after visiting Joshua Tree National Park on Christmas Day. There were many activities to do. The lobby had beautiful Christmas decoration. The hotel upgraded our room to have a patio with a nice view of the pools and gave us complimentary snacks for my birthday!

Note: We had to call the front desk to order room slippers, after not finding any in the room though.

We signed up for the free boat parade activity where the boats would decorated with lights and circle around the resort’s lake for 15-20 minutes. It was very pleasant and we saw swan families on the lake. Some of us enjoyed the hot pools at night. It was a bit chilly at night but the pools were super warm.

Next morning, we rented bikes at the front desk (included with the resort fees) and did a sunrise bike ride around the resort. The bike path is right next to the street with many cars so it was a little scary. I prefer to ride bikes on a distinguished bike path away from cars and pedestrians. Thankfully there weren’t too many cars because we biked at sunrise.

We bought coffee and pastries at the cafe across the street from the resort but the lattes were not that great.

We reserved the pickleball courts for 9am-10am. Make sure you reserve it early or it will be full. (you can make reservations 2 days before your hotel stay) we borrowed my sister’s 4 pickle ball rackets and had 2 free rentals on credit as a hotel guest. Ball rentals are $5 each call, so it’s also better to bring your own if you have family nearby.

After, we visited the flamingos on site. They were so lovely! We were so up close to the beautiful birds.

Later, we spent some time at the arcade. You have the option to buy a $20,$30,$50, etc card. I think $20-$30 is more than enough for 2 kids. My kids weren’t interested in too many of the games except the racing ones. There was a Star Wars game that my daughter liked also.

After that, we went to our lunch reservation at the restaurant Rock Grill and the food was very good. It took a long to come out because they make the pizza fresh.

Afterwards, half of us swam and the other half played mini golf. It was such a fun time together!

The hotel staff and service staff at the restaurants were fantastic. The golf course was not 5 stars. No where to clean your clubs, limited food drink options close to golf, going to the range requires getting in a cart, putting area was pretty small. Golf course was well kept. Golf rangers were very friendly and helpful.

The hotel is very pretty! As you enter the driveway you are greeted with the sight of the gorgeous flamingos. You can take beautiful photos of the flamingos and the pretty Palm trees as a backdrop of the desert. The only thing was that even though it was December, they hadn't put any Christmas decorations.

Came here with my mom and sisters. This is a beautiful faculty, one of my favorite hotels I’ve stayed in. There is a $38 fee for destination and this includes parking and other things. Lots of things to do in and around the hotel. I loved the flamingo pond.

This is a gorgeous property that you should definitely put on your list to visit. They're a beautiful mountain views around this property. Tried pickleball for the first time, and I think we like it! 🤣. Pretty much something to do for everyone.

We went to this JW after a quick trip to Joshua tree. Great spot. Not too far away from food and a Safeway across the street if you need it. It was hot so the pool was nice! Poolside bar service was perfect. We did the innovation kitchen at the restaurant and the chef and host were fun. The room was pretty large. Double balcony. Overall, id definitely return. I highly recommend.

Husband & I went away on a Labor Day weekend staycation, as well as to celebrate a friend’s birthday.

Every room has spectacular views of the property all the way to the foothills. I took a walk around inside/outside & appreciated the design of each trail, thoughtfully planted cacti & babbling brook this desert oasis has to offer.

The aviary & garden left me wanting more, but I still enjoyed taking the time to explore these areas.

Our room was beautifully appointed with industrial style light fixtures, wrapped in rattan & solid wood. Lots of great backlighting kept our stay cozy & warm.

Room service was top notch & the food was delicious. Especially breakfast. I’ve had avocado toast at many restaurants & hotels.. JW Marriott has the best I’ve ever tasted.

We will definitely be staying here again.

This hotel is the definition of resort. It is gorgeous and offers every ammenity...spa, tennis, and golf. The free golf clinics and availability of tennis clinics at a reasonable price were great. Unfortunately, for the rather steep price you will not get turn down service, daily room cleaning, or even fresh berries in their expensive buffet breakfast.

I was going to give 4 stars but they were heroes at the end. First the good stuff...

They have a Hertz rent-a-car office onsite, so we were able to rent a car at the Palm Springs airport, drive around for 24 hours, and then return it at the hotel before a conference. (Rather than having to go back to the airport and take an Uber back to the hotel.) Very convenient!

When we arrived, I asked for a quiet room. The room they gave us was part of a suite, so it had an interior door to the next room. I was nervous about possibly hearing our neighbors so they relocated us to a totally private room with a better view.

It was mostly quiet, but people in our hallway were a little loud until maybe 11pm on Fri and Sat nights (despite the sign saying that the hallway was a "Quiet Zone"). Nevertheless, at least we didn't have the suite problem.

When we left, I forgot to check the closet. In it were a pair of slacks, a button down shirt, and an irreplaceable jacket which had all of my keys in the pocket!

I called from the airport and they found everything. They let me choose the shipping speed. I got it all back for a reasonable fee. That's why I'm giving a 5 star review.

There was some room for improvement, however....

One afternoon I was about to take a nap but heard music in the hallway, even though it had a sign saying "Quiet zone". The music was coming from the phone of a cleaning lady. I asked her to turn it off and she did. But I was surprised that she didn't honor the Quiet Zone signs in the first place.

Leading up to our final morning, I had forgotten to put a "Do not disturb sign" on the door. While we were still sleeping - maybe 7am? - a cleaning lady knocked on our door and then entered.

But it was the day we were checking out. I wish she would've waited until the front desk alerted her that we had *actually* checked out - before knocking or entering.

I made the mistake of renting a Chevy Bolt (EV). The hotel's fee to charge it for 6 hours was reasonable (like $18 I think), but their fee was $40 to charge it overnight.

We gave it to them around 9:30pm. I asked them to only charge it for 6 hours, but they said I'd have to come get it in exactly 6 hours - at 3:30am. I didn't want to do that, but they were not willing or able to unplug the car for me after 6 hours. So I had to pay $40.

Last, the three restaurants onsite are geared towards meat and fish. One said they could make a vegetarian meal, but not vegan. We were there for a plant-based nutrition conference, so this was a disappointment.
