Baker's Ribs

I have been going to Baker's Ribs in Eden Prairie for years, and I've only had one bad experience. I went on a Monday and forgot that they are closed Mondays and Tuesdays!

They are one of the best barbecue joints I've ever been to (certainly one of the very best in Minnesota) and they are incongruously situated in a tiny mall between a Leeann Chin and a Great Clips.

This is another hidden gem that requires an 11:30 arrival if you want a prime table and don't want to stand in line. The line moves quickly, you are served on styrofoam plates, it's nothing fancy.

But. It's amazing.

The food is prepared in front of you. You watch as your smoked sausage, brisket, and ribs are cut and sauced in the kitchen behind the counter. The sauces are fresh and flavorful (go for the hot!).

This is everything you want a small, clean, local restaurant to be. The wood for the smokers is stacked in the back hallway in case you were worried that you aren't in for authenticity!

Regularly frequent Baker’s Ribs for the smoked meats and friendly staff. All the meats are exceptionally juicy and delicious— ribs, sliced brisket, ham, chicken.

If you’ve not been here before, I highly recommend the meat platters (2- or 3-meats) to figure out which meats you find most enjoyable! The tomato and dirty rice are delicious sides! Once you find what you like, there’s options to purchase the meats by the pound.

Baker’s Ribs features damn good BBQ with a Texas smokehouse atmosphere. Their ribs are smoked to perfection and pair well with their sides. I highly recommend their spicy BBQ sauce, it’s a winner.

I've been going to Baker's Ribs Eden Prairie for over 25 years that they have been in business. Hard to find Ribs that are consistently tender, lean, and Great Tasting! The pulled pork is amazing and the Texas Taters are absolutely the best ever!

The food was delicious and they were understandably busy. Most people seemed to be getting take out but they did have an ample seating area.

The entry area was a bit cramped and it was difficult to maunver from the ordering counter to the register. There were shelves and shelves of pig figurines in the entry area. They were not overly dusty, but they made the entry feel cluttered and took up space that could have been used for standing room.

We ordered two full slabs of ribs with spicy sauce, baked beans, and cole slaw. The ribs were fall-off-the-bone tender, smokey, and delicious. The spicy BBQ sauce was not super spicy (had a nice zip to it), and not too sweet - very good! I like a little more heat, but flavor is more important. The baked beans were very good and the coleslaw was fantastic!

I would absolutely order food again as take out!

I’m from the DFW area and grew up going to Bakers. When I found out that there was a location here in Minnesota, I was excited with tempered expectations.
I was BLOWN AWAY! The quality and flavor are just like home. Incredible TX BBQ with great sides and sauce.

Wow. I need to say it again, Wow.
I ordered a full rack dry with no sauce or sides and that was a meal! Just parking the car you can smell the barbecue and when you enter, you know you are in a great place.
Right behind the counter is a multi door blackened smoker device probably like 12' long and they feed it with logs to keep it smoldering all night and smaller chucks of hardwoods during the day to smoke.
The flavor is excellent and the ribs are very tender, they cut the rack for you into individual ribs to make it easier to eat. Excellent quality meat and large portion.
For reference I travel both domestically and internationally around 120 nights per year eating all sorts of local foods and these ribs are hands down the best!

Love running over here for a good meal at lunch time!! $16-$18 for a plate of ribs and two sides is damn good!!! The ribs always fall off the bone! The slaw and potatoes salad are amazing! The beans are good too! I’ve only had the ribs because that’s what I like but the maintenance guys at my work love everything! They raved so much about this place I had to try and they weren’t lying!! The only thing I would their missing is come corn bread!

So you walk in and it's like a deli service counter and behind that is a 40 foot bank of black, cast iron smoking ovens, some with meat in them. One was open and you could just see hams (it's Easter). I got sliced brisket, beans, and potato salad, because that's what looked the best. These were the best beans I've ever had and it's not even close. The potato salad was almost like cold, skin-on mashed potatoes, and it was also awesome. Another thing I love is they don't mess around with a bunch of sauces. There's a red squeeze bottle of sauce on your table and that's it. Washed it down with a sweet tea. So good.

Fresh, hot, tender beef brisket sliced right in front of me. Amazing sauce on the side. Delicious savory baked beans. Friendly people. I grew up in the south where BBQ is a BIG deal. These folks get it right!

We were there for of course the millionth time. I am originally from Texas and this is the ONLY place we will go for BBQ

Excellent barbecue brisket. The best Texas style brisket in Minnesota, in my opinion.
The decor is themed interestingly and the food is just very good. The bark on the brisket is to die for.

We stopped during our travels, and so glad we did - everything was delicious, so much flavor! Casual atmosphere and super friendly staff, highly recommend.

Baker's Ribs was a find today! I took my young grandchildren who are very picky eaters. They GOBBLED up the ribs 😋😋 This will most definitely be a regular stop when I am up visiting!!! Thank you for your kind and enjoyable service AND fabulous BBQ!!

A classic great BBQ restaurant! Food was good. The potato salad wasn't to my taste but that is probably because it is was a different recipe than I am used to.

Been eating here since they opened the store over 20+ years ago. Best BBQ in town hands down. Al and Scott also support animal rescue groups! Doesn’t get any better than this place

Exceptional food, ribs were perfectly done so as not to fall off the bone unless you want them to. Tomato basil was excellent. BBQ sauce was a bit watery for my tastes but flavor was all there. Potato salad initially was not full flavored but grew on me over time. Lots of selections of sodas, bottled had like 4 different varieties of Root Beer. Staff were kind and quick, had my food in about 5 minutes. Oh and Texas toast was true Texas toast. You can tell a lot of love goes into this place, almost everything is made in house.

Envuence of restaurant is nice, like a giant picnic area at an old Texas bbq. Signs all over the place. Sauce served in a giant ketchup bottle so you can add as you want.

Very impressed - head on in if you want some amazing bbq straight out of Texas!

We had the pulled pork sandwich, pork & beans and cole slaw. Portion sizes were above average with good value. Sandwich & cole slaw were very good, beans were excellent. Ordered at the counter and service was fast.

My partner loves all the smoked meats, and I'm OBSESSED with the tomato salad....really all the sides are so good. We eat here every time we make a trip into Eden Prairie. Can't wait to get back.

This place is the best! They're like a ma and pa shop with a big take on cooking and flavor. My bf and I literally will drive 15mins out of the way to eat there... *Drool!* They make their own bbq sauce and the portions are great!
