Great event at their recent Holidays Light Show Tour. Warm and friendly fire pits to keep you toasty. Tasty stores to make. The lighted trails were gorgeous and very hiking friendly well lit and posted. Staff was very helpful and did a great job. Had some good tunes inside the building. Enjoyed good adult beverages sitting next the fireplace. Overall a perfect event for our New Year's Eve celebration. I would highly recommend attending. Reasonable prices on all tickets, food and drinks.

If you haven't been to the Arboretum and appreciate landscapes, flowers, and trails, you absolutely need to go. This visit was a little late in the season as many of the plantings were at the end of their bloom. However, the trees were still showing some great maroon and gold color. I suggest a mid summer visit and plan to stay a while. It will take hours to see everything. You will be walking unless you hop on the train so wear your hiking shoes.

The feel of the place is kind of old-world charm. Orchids were on display in abundance. I didn't get a chance to explore every nook & cranny, so I will need to make a return trip in spring or fall when plants are in bloom outdoors. It's hard to believe it was my first visit since I've lived in Minnesota for a few decades. Definitely will visit again.

If you have a passion for nature, flowers, and trees, this destination is a must-see. Located less than a 30-minute drive from downtown Minneapolis, it offers a vast area to explore. A drive-through visit provides a delightful experience, and the ticket price is reasonable. Taking the time to admire the Tulip flowers near the welcome center can turn this into an unforgettable half-day trip with your family. I highly recommend visiting this place at least once if you find yourself in Minnesota.

Been coming here since I was a kid! Absolutely gorgeous year round! My family always likes to drive the 3 mile drive but now they have a separate 3 mile walk which is so nice. We went in Oct this year to see the scarecrows. They were awesome! 10/10 recommend this twin city attraction!

Lovely walk through the sculpture garden. Inside smelled so AMAZING. There were thousands of blooming flowers, it was intoxicating. Can't wait to come back and see things blooming & growing outside! Pictures from the conservatory.

What an incredible experience, I lived here my whole life and never visited before. Set up really well for kids and adults alike, can spend a couple hours looking at all the plants and gardens then a couple more walking the 3 miles loop. If your looking for something special and outdoors this is probably it.

So beautiful! Enough flowers still blooming. Each garden section was so well cared for. I loved the variety and appreciate the sheer number of different plants there are to see. The 3 mile drive was peaceful. I wish i had more time. If i lived close enough i would definitely have a member pass to go more often.

Nature! Education! Activities! Events! What a precious gem in MN!
Purchasing online tickets is required for entry. Disability services are great. Staff and volunteers are super friendly and helpful.

What a beautiful place to experience the wondrous nature of Minnesota. Miles of trails to explore and take in the beauty our state has to offer. We went there on a sunny day in October with the leaves bursting in reds, oranges and yellows! A spectacular way to spend a fall Sunday and highly recommend a visit.

My partner and I came for the 3 mile walk and had a great time! This place is hugeeee and it’s easy to almost miss things! We had fun exploring without a map though, the path for the 3 mile walk is paved the majority of the way aside from a short section through a gravel parking lot that isn’t, and a small portion is brick cobblestone but overall fairly accessible. Things looked very family friendly with a ton of things for kids to climb on and look at including a hedge maze. There’s a gift shop with a cafe upstairs. And we loved the fall scarecrows! Parking was free but you do need to buy tickets online before entering.

What a magical place! A "must do" if you are in the area. This place will instantly drop your heart rate and provide an overall Zen that will stay with you for days. The various gardens and pathways are gorgeous and there is lots to explore. We also ate lunch in the restaurant/cafeteria and it was delicious! I would recommend allowing 2-3 hours at least to try and get everything in. The staff is lovely and our Trolley tour guide Kim was very knowledgeable.

My wife and I had the pleasure of visiting the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum during a picturesque fall late afternoon, close to Halloween. The colors presented by nature were nothing short of breathtaking, offering a visual treat that felt like a scene out of a postcard. The 3-mile walk we undertook was an immersive experience, allowing us to truly appreciate the vastness and beauty of the arboretum. Parking was ample, ensuring a hassle-free start and end to our visit.

However, a slight disappointment was the friendliness of the staff; they seemed a bit aloof. Additionally, we were hoping to see the Christmas lights and decorations lit up, but they remained off during our visit. Despite these minor setbacks, the sheer beauty of the arboretum made our trip worthwhile, and it's a place we'd recommend for a serene and scenic walk.

So very beautiful. Staff is extremely friendly. Visit. You won't be disappointed.

FYI: You will need to purchase tickets online, in advance. It's worth it, I promise.

One of the best places to visit in Minnesota with or without kids… something to do all year long! Check out the Bee building on the farm, the 3 mile drive or 3 mile walk, the outdoor kids nature center is amazing all year long. Check out the ornamental grasses and let your kids run and hide. Check out the apple house during fall hours for some amazing fresh assortments of all your favorites. Enjoy the library, the Arb store and the cafe. So much to offer every age

I could post hundreds of pictures from this place- these are just from the most recent visit (beginning of August 2023)
I've been here at least 4 times, and there are still parts I haven't seen yet, and of course, I have my favorite parts, like the Japanese garden, and the Three Mile Walk is always so beautiful.
The last visit was also the first time we checked out the Cafe and gift shop, both of which were amazing and cute as well!

Also, if you or your family play Pokemon Go, this place is a GOLDMINE for stops and gyms!

We went there in mid October, so there was a halloween decoration all around the places. So many funny looking pumpkins and scarecrows.
The arboretum itself is also very nice. There are 2 options, 3 mile walk and 3 mile drive. Most of the paths are overlapping. We chose to walk and it took us around 2 hours with frequent photo stops and sometimes getting lost in a maze. There are also hiking options that are not in the main path. You can choose to hike ~1 mi or take a bee line shuttle (free) to get to the historic farm house and a small bee museum on a hill.
We spent close to 4 hours total with a leisurely pace.
FYI - UMN students get a free ticket but you need to call

What a gorgeous place. There is always something going on to check out. Check out the rose garden, miles of walking paths. We visited the Pumpkin Patch - a bunch of glass blown pumpkins sold by the artists. You do need to buy tickets in advance but then you can spend all day. I know they showcase different plants like tulips and orchids at various events through the year.

Loved this place in the fall! Traveled all the way from Austin to see fall colors and we got 'em!
If anything, got a little lost, the signage could improve, but overall it was amazingly stunning!

This was probably my favorite stop on my recent trip to Minnesota. We went late August and there were still some absolutely GORGEOUS sections of flowers left. Tons of trees, shrubs, hedges, and multiple waterfalls, too. A three mile walk and three mile drive that are both beautiful. They also have a beautiful prairie, hedge maze, sculpture garden, greenhouse, boardwalk, and visitor center. There are other trails branching off the boardwalk that you could walk for miles, with easy to navigate maps. We saw songbirds, turkeys, rabbits, butterflies, honeybees, and bumblebees. Admission is $15 for non-members, remember to purchase your tickets in advance online. Worth every penny and we probably spent about 3 hours here, but would have spent all day had it not been over 100 degrees. Parking is easy and I couldn't have asked for a better experience.
