We went in on a whim after touring Paisley Park. So glad we did it was excellent! The food was bursting with flavor, the tequila was smooth and our server was so charming.

What an enjoyable experience. My wife and I are in Chanhassen for our anniversary, and we were having a hard time deciding where to go for dinner our first night in town. We chose Tequila Butcher at random. God, we couldn't have picked a better place for dinner. I had the "wet tacos" on Mary B's recommendation. Wow, what a great choice. Smoked brisket tacos served with a consume for dipping. The brisket was some of the best brisket I've had in years, and the consume was amazing. The Spanish rice, while a bit sticky, had a great flavor, along with a nice bit of spiciness without being overpowering. The Yuca fries were something I had never heard of before, but opted to try them rather than the beans that came as a standard side dish. They were Yucca cactus leaves cut into triangles approximately 2 1/2 inches long and deep fried. Great recommendation yet again from Mary B. I also had a 3 piece order of the "Texas Twinkies" stuffed jalapeño peppers wrapped in bacon and smoked, then finished with the demi glaze. The smoked cream cheese was a very pleasant surprise, nicely seasoned without being overbearing.
My wife had the "fish and chips" 2 large walleye filets beer battered and deep-fried along with twice fried potatoes. She raved about the fish but wasn't crazy about the French fries. She thought they tasted a tad over cooked, bordering on being burnt. I tried a few and thought that maybe the fryer oil might have been due for a change. And the drinks, OH my God, if I hadn't been driving, I could have sat there all night drinking the margaritas on ice, the house tequila definitely wasn't Jose Cuervo, or any other third tier tequila, it was at least a Cabo Wabo quality tequila. Not top tier, but also not a cheap third-rate tequila. My wife had something called an "anything goes" that was made with vodka and had a raspberry garnish. She said it was a bit sour, but still a very tasty drink.
Overall, we were more than happy that we decided to try Tequila Butcher and wouldn't hesitate to come back here again.
I want to give a special shout out to our waitress Mary B, you did an amazing job of recommending several different items from the menu that you clearly were more than familiar with. And your pleasantness was something rarely experienced lately. I'm an OTR trucker and eat out quite often, and the waitresses I deal with could ALL learn a few things from you. Thank you for adding to a great dinner experience!

An awesome place to stop for dinner! There are about 7 pages of tequila on the menu! I went with queso fundido, a tequila old fashioned, and a half pound of build your own tacos with chicken tinga. It was awesome and I will for sure be back. Our server was very accommodating and gave wonderful recommendations for everyone. The atmosphere is great as well and they have a wall of tequilas.

Very clean and wonderful aesthetic. I forgot the bartenders name but she was working Friday night and had blue* hair. I told her what type of tequila I liked and she gave me a perfect recommendation. The margarita was wonderful. I even love the ice lol. Great late night happy hour with the half off marg and tequila. If you want the half off food you must go between 9pm-10pm because they stop serving food after that.

Food was fresh and hot. Friendly bartender(Jenni). Solid playlist for the environment. Aesthetics on point. Healthy portion of carnitas. $6 beer and a shot.

We came for dinner this Sunday. Miles was our server and he was personable, friendly, and knowledgeable of the menu and made great suggestions.

We started with the Mexican cornbread which was amazing. Sundays also feature happy hour all day - so drink prices are really reasonable.

I ordered the brisket which was massive! The brisket was also some of the best, if not the best I’ve had. This is a huge compliment since we frequent local barbecue joints.

Overall it was an excellent dinner, would recommend.

Wife and I had dinner here on 3/8/24. The margarita's were great. The Chicken Tinga & Carne Asada tacos were some of the best we've had and the service was great. Only down side was the noise. It was hard to carry on a conversation across the table.

Very clean and bright ambiance that creates a modern and relaxed atmosphere. Plenty of variety on the menu. It helps to read reviews beforehand which also offers helpful images of menu items.

We are always surprised by how generous the portion of the one-half chips and salsa order is. It was plenty for two of us. And came with a small cup of sour cream, salsa, and guacamole. Each of the three tasted very fresh – which is what make this dish tops. Salsa is mild; it you like more spice, ask for it or add it at your table.

The Tequila old fashioned was superb as it is at all locations. By The Grace of God is okay; the Supreme Goddess of Intoxication is a favorite. The blend of Blood Orange, Mint, Lime, Aperol, Cachaca, Blanco Tequila is spectacular, although I could skip the apricot. The names are rather odd – I’d encourage you to look at the ingredients to make a selection.

If you order Tacos, then chips and salsa come along with them. Nice variety of beef, chicken, and shrimp additions. We did the chicken this time and it is flavorful, arrived hot and juicy. Their Brussels with an agave glaze are unusual and yummy.

I highly recommend the ceviche with leche de tigre.

Diners can sit at the bar to avoid a wait. Both inside and patio dining are available. The patio was packed with people enjoying the outdoors and good food. You may want to arrive early during these fall months; they do have patio heaters. The booths are comfortable but further from the light of the front windows. Order pickup is also available. Street side signage is excellent to locate and parking is ample. Service pace was okay; they seemed sufficiently staffed for a Sunday afternoon.

Our server/bartender, Pedro, was very attentive, paying attention to our needs from drink selection to food quality. Drinks were good, nice variety. We ordered the paella spicy, and it was spicy! Nice to see a place not scared of spice. :) Thank you for a nice experience.

My smoked brisket tacos were delicious, and plentiful. In fact, everyone at our table had amazing tasting food. The tequila and mezcal options were plentiful, and you can get them served multiple ways like margarita, straight, on the rocks, and with a paired fruit slice. Definitely a great destination with something for everyone including our vegetarian and gluten free friends.

Nice ambiance and relaxed atmosphere. Lots of variety on the menu. Exceptional drinks. Food is good, but if you like lots of spice, it might not be the place for you or maybe ask for more heat. Loved the Tia Mia and Texas Twinkies

A delightful surprise in our backyard. An impressive variety of tequila, any way you’d like it (except blended). Texas Twinkie’s are a great start as an appetizer. Service is fast, and genuine employees guide you through your experience with food and drinks. 👌🏻 Ryan was our bartender and he treated us like gold. The manager, Chad, checked in frequently which shows a lot of integrity about the performance and satisfaction of a restaurant.

Try the Wet Tacos. The sauce is amazing. Great service. We were there at a slower time and the bartender was very helpful. Lots of tequila choices. Try a tequila old fashion with Clasa Azul tequila. We will be back. The Happy hour margaritas are worth giving there after 2pm.

This was such a pleasant surprise to visit. The food was amazing, and the amount of tequilas and mezcals was far more than just impressive. The Paella was most definitely an aromatic and savorable dish. Not to mention the portions you receive are not light. Along side from the entrée, the Smoke Screen Whiskey was such an amazing experience (and pairs well with the Tres Leches Cake for reference)
I would highly recommend this place for a lovely date, an outing with friends, and just to head out to dinner for. And may I mention there is a "secret" room as well, if that peaks your interest.

We went into the Tiki Bar portion. Such a fun, quaint location. Their rum selection is absolutely awe-inspiring. I had the Years of Darkness. The flavor was well-balanced and delicious. My wife enjoyed the Lime in the Coco Nut. She highly enjoyed hers. We had to taste some obscure rums...and the late night happy hour was 50% off all rums.

Fun spot...we'll be back.
