Old Forge Distillery

It’s in the old mill area close to the central transportation center with shops and restaurants close. You get to try 10 flavors which was fun, coffee was my favorite. They sell cream whiskeys too.

Staff here is super friendly and AWESOME! Bought my coffee moonshine and mixer, quick, easy and enjoyable. Love the store and it's amazing appeal or older look.

Absolutely loved this little distillery. The tasting was completely free. They offer many different flavors. There was not one that I think I did not like. I liked the moonshines being displayed in the front window of the shop for all the see. The smell of the moonshine being made filled the place and smelt amazing.

So many different flavours of moonshine and creams to choose from, which is helped with free tastings.

Don't forget to tip your server.

Absolutely love this place. I have been going here for years. In my opinion, the best distillery in the area. The samples are completely free. The staff is very nice and extremely knowledgeable on all of their products and they won't steer you wrong. The cocktail bar they have inside is by far my favorite. THE BEST old fashioned in town. On our last day of our trip the bar was closed but, once they heard that it was our last day, they opened up the bar and gave us drink.

Visited here while in Pigeon Forge and had a phenomenal experience sampling 18 different flavors of moonshine! Unlike other places, they don't charge you for sampling. They work on tips. We sampled 8 different cream based moonshines that were all delicious. We then sampled 10 different flavors of regular moonshine. They were all good as well. They have over 30 varieties from 60 proof to 144 proof. We ended up buying six different ones. Definitely check them out! You won't be disappointed! Also, while there, eat at the Old Mill Cafe that's right across the street. The food is delicious!

Wow! This place was super nice inside! We really enjoyed our time here sampling and trying cocktails! We think this place had the best moonshine cherries of any of the distilleries in the area. We bought multiple jars as they was so good and unique. We loved stoping in here and relaxing while we waited to eat at the restaurant connected! Can’t wait to visit again definitely a must stop.

We came to Tennessee on vacation this year and had the opportunity to visit the Old Forge Distillery. The wife enjoyed the free samples and ended up with the oatmeal pie moonshine. I picked up two bottles of the Cyclone Jim (one as a gift) and some other merchandise.
When we returned to our room I noticed that the moonshine wrapping was wet, I didn’t think much of it until I unwrapped it and noticed that the jar was cracked. I called and talked to the manager right away and I was told to come in the next day. In the morning I decided to inspect the other items we purchased, the Cyclone Jim comes in a gift box and I’m glad I checked it out before returning to the store because the one I purchased as a gift was cracked.
Heading back in the next day I was not very hopeful in how the OFD was going to handle our unique issue. Both bottles were still sealed and the bags and boxes were not damaged.
Needless to say the Old Forge Distillery was amazing, very professional and never once insinuated that we were at fault or careless to cause this issue. They replaced the broken items and I was happy to purchase more while I was back in the store!
If we return to Tennessee, the OFD will be one of our stops.

Welllllll I’m obsessed with you Old Forge. I knew your moonshine was good, I’d been gifted some oatmeal cookie moonshine previously… but I did the free tasting (which was awesome) and found some more favorites! I got the bacon rim bloody from the little bar and it was the best dang Bloody Mary I’ve ever had! All 3 of the staff we interacted with were wonderful (tasting guy- 😳 blanking on his name) was fun and knowledgable, the dark haired woman behind the counter was kind and held all my stuff while I continued to look around, and Chet at the bar was kind and super helpful! We loved the atmosphere… we had two small kids in tow and everyone was so nice to them 🥰 excited to come back again!

Great hydration location! We did the tasting but did you know they have a lounge! We sat and enjoyed the comfortable atmosphere and an amazing bartender!

We literally love this place. We went everyday we were here except the day we arrived. It is such a nice place to shop, taste Moonshine... they have a bar area to purchase drinks. Heather waited on us several times. She is such a great people person. We love hanging out at this place. We will be back our next trip. Stop by and visit. You will not be disappointed at all. They make their own Moonshine and have many flavors. They have a Pumpkin Cream and Vanilla Cream Rum that is amazing. I mix them two together and set in their bar and just relax on the comfortable couches they have.

Even with our times of COVID it was nice to just relax.

One of America's best distillery experiences. Much has changed in the Smokies over the past decade. Old Forge has not, sort of standing as a beacon of fun and quality moonshine that has been somewhat lost to time in the area. Should prioritize a visit on your trip to East TN.

Love the atmosphere here. Every time we visit Gatlinburg, we stop here at least twice. Drinks are delicious and bartenders are very attentive. Great place to check out if you’re in the area.

The tasting server Leah was friendly. You can do a moonshine tasting, order drinks from the bar, or shop the store for gifts, housewares, and moonshine & mixers to take home.

I did a free sample of the peanut butter cream liquor and I HAD to have a drink with it. So this is a Peanut Butter Cup drink made from their in house moonshine and liquor. Ben did a great job!

This is probably the third time we have been to Old Forge and have enjoyed it every time. Typically, we do the moonshine tastings and run tastings, and then head to dinner. This time we decided to do the rum tastings and then try Bloody Marys at the bar. The rum tastings were delicious as always, but we really enjoyed the Bloody Marys. It is a really great process as each one is personalized by choosing which rim, liquor, and vegetable topping you want. Each of the three of us got a different rim and vegetable, and we all loved them. I have never had a Bloody Mary with minced garlic in it before, and it was delicious. We even bought a bottle of the mix from the gift shop. Our bartenders for the rum tastings and the bar were great, friendly, and generous with everything.

We tasted 10 different flavors of moonshine completely free, and completely delicious! Ask for Chris, he was so awesome and super funny. He came with lots of good mixing ideas that you’ll have to try. We had a great time and will definitely be back!

This is the second place I’ve been to for a moonshine tasting. There was no charge for sampling and they have venmo if you don’t carry cash for tips. I was able to go right up to the bar and after getting id’d, was given a stack of small shot glasses. Rob was giving the shots out based on the flavors any customer would request. I enjoyed everything I sampled, and they also provide different proofs and mash mixes of the unflavored shines.
