Very good service, good menu … not overly extensive. Food was very good quality all around. Simply delicious 😋

Had it not been for the billboard advertising this restaurant I would have never known it existed- and it’s been around since 1911 in Galveston, Texas as the oldest continuously running establishment! I loved their Queso, Guacamole and especially their Butterfly Shrimp! The servers were attentive and courteous and the place felt cozy!

Started with the chili con queso and added ground beef, and it did not dissapoint! There was so much beef in the queso I could have made it a meal! The cheese enchiladas were the best I have ever had and the homemade tamales were delicious! Our waiter was wonderful and made us feel right at home. There’s a reason this place has been in business since 1916, great food and great service!

Wonderful lunch! My sister and I split the vegetarian fajitas and had some to take home. The prices were very reasonable and worth the portions. The vegetables included zucchini, yellow squash, green bell pepper, tomato, and onion (maybe more). The vegetables were seasoned well, not too oily, and cooked to a proper tenderness (not too soft). The rice and beans were both vegetarian and especially delicious as well. We could not get enough of the charro beans! The pico de gallo and guacamole were both fresh and plentiful. Corn chips and salsa for the table were restaurant style with a slight bite. Helpful and knowledgeable staff. We would definitely return and recommend for visitors to Galveston!

Loved their salsa (I'm about salsa)! When you stop eating it, your mouth gets hotter. Delicious! I had the fish tacos. They were very good size pieces too, and the Ranchero beans were just as good. I will definitely be making another stop here before we leave.

Such a nice surprise! We were here for a volleyball tourney, and this place was recommended. The food was great and you will NOT leave hungry! I had the chicken and spinach quesadilla. Yum!! Servers were attentive and quick as well. Will go back should we ever be that way again!

First time here while we were visiting Galveston. We LOVED it! Staff and waiter was super friendly, plenty of seating, quick fast service, and delicious drinks and portions at an EXCELLENT price. Will definitely return whenever we visit Galveston again!

First time at this local Galveston staple, it won't be our last. The food was delicious. Ingredients were fresh, and all dishes were very well seasoned and well prepared. Portions were very generous and price was very reasonable. This place has been around for over 100 years, so they must be doing something right. Give them a try!

We ate here for our wedding reception which had 15 adults and 4 children the food is great was hoping to get the upstairs but was unavailable. Called like a month ahead of time and still had my reservation available when we showed up. Great service friendly atmosphere.

Food was delicious. Beef fajitas were tender and flavorful. That rice was some of the best I've ever eaten. The beans were cooked perfectly. Came with lots of grilled peppers and onions. Came with all the trimmings, pico, cheese, sour cream, guacamole. Chips and salsa were good .. Salsa is a little bit hot but so good. Will definitely be a place I go

What wonderful place! Food Service Atmosphere all 5 stars! Food authentic and original. The waiter was nice and very prompt. You're going to love the food here. Restrooms are a "10 from Len" this place has been in business since 1916.

So hubby & I originally were going to eat at Katys Seafood but we left because we got a bad vibe when we walked in. We decided to try this place on our last night in town. It's a cute little place! We were waited on by Miguel, he made sure we were taken care of the entire time, mind you, he was waiting on a ton of tables! I ordered the small shrimp cocktail as an appetizer, the portion was so big it could have been a meal. It was delicious! I also ordered the cheese enchiladas, I think these are the best cheese enchiladas I have ever eaten! They were just so darn good!!! Hot sauce is a little watery but it was good. Chips are good. Hubby ordered chicken fajitas which he stated were good as well. Rice & beans, good! I have no complaints! I'm so glad we decided to try this place. Can't wait to come back to Galveston to come here! Thank you! ❤

Wow, that's all I can say. My goodness this place is so good and I can't believe we just now found it! Great food, fantastic service, really friendly people. I am absolutely thrilled to have just by chance been passing by and stumbled upon this little gem! This will definitely become a regular stop for us in the future.

i’ve been coming here since I was five years old. I’m 31 now. I have So many amazing memories in Galveston and that includes coming to this restaurant. 100% the absolute best prices In town and definitely the best prices where I’m from, Houston. Everything is great. Shout out to the owner Who actually responds to the reviews. I wish more places would do that, but they’re always Pre-generated responses everywhere else. We have been eating Mexican food at this location for as long as I can remember. This place has survived every hurricane and flood and still cranks out amazing dishes. The prices are extremely reasonable. Chips are extra thin and crispy. They also make dishes to order if you want to change your style of tortilla or sauce. This Mexican staple should definitely be on your stop list while staying in Galveston.
