Mama’s Taste

Decided to try this place out because I'm always on a hunt for soup dumplings. My husband got the beef brocolli and I got the handmade noodles with tomato egg sauce and we both got soup dumplings.

Definitely recommend getting something in the noodle-y category cuz both my noodles and the dumplings were so scrumptious and had great mouth feel. The beef brocolli was good too but I felt it was pretty comparable to other places.

Overall highly recommend! Can't wait to go back and try some of their other offerings.

11/14/23 Edit: Went back and brought a foodie friend. She confirmed that the handmade ramen and dumplings were amazing. Wish I lived closer so I could eat here more often!

It's a small fast Chinese restaurant, food is tasty, and the ingredients are fresh. Good service and price are reasonable. I would recommend this place if you're craving Chinese food or a quick bite.

Excellent food! The crispy beef was fried very crispy and tasty. Also the pan fried dumplings were some of the best I’ve had in the DMV area. I will definitely be coming back to try out their other dishes.

This small Chinese take out place is very quick at serving up their food. We got the shrimp fried rice as well as shrimp lo mein and they were both delicious. We will be back to try other options.

First time at this restaurant, so was not sure what to expect since it's in a very unassuming store front with a few other stores/restaurants (including Safeway), but was pleasantly surprised. Ordered take-out so really cannot comment on the "service", it's not really a "restaurant", more of a take-out place. But the Kung Pao Shrimp, Young Chow Fried Rice, and steamed dumplings were amazing (the shrimp was a little spicy but not too bad). Overall, I would definitely go back again! So far it's one of the better Chinese restaurants in the area.

It was so good, I was really impressed with the beef and broccoli entree. It's been a while I've had a Chinese dish that I've thoroughly enjoyed. The pictures doesn't do it justice but the beef was perfectly cut, great size and not rubbery, the broccoli was crunchy and they were not stingy with the portions. I will definitely be coming back here again.

I was missing youpo noodle - biang biang noodle - and dimsum so I visited this place after looking at their menu. No food was incredible or stood out, but everything felt like the homemade food I was craving.

Great dumplings and noodles, all handmade and authentic! Nice staff too. Highly recommend giving them a try.

Can you believe they have all handmade dumplings and wontons? If you are looking for the REAL authentic Chinese dumplings, you must try this restaurant. Love it and will come back soon.

After some less than stellar Chinese food locally, I hadn't had any for a long time. Then we celebrated Lunar New Year with friends with takeout from this restaurant and everything was delicious! I am now obsessed with their sesame balls that include peanuts. So good. And the woman who took the order could not have been sweeter. It's nice to finally have a go-to spot again for when we're in the mood for Chinese... we'd long ago found area favorites for Thai (Kiin Imm), Indian (Bansari), and Mexican (Taco Bamba!).

This is my favorite Chinese food restaurant in Fairfax or locally. I have tried other local Chinese places but their food and prices do not compare to Mama's Taste.

I have tried variety of food there and everything I have tried were delicious! They give you an option to choose the spice level for each dish. They also give large portions, plenty of meat and the food is filled to the top of the container so I usually have leftovers for next day or two.

The cashiers are always friendly when I come to pick up my food.

Our family got take-out tonight. The food is so good! Wonton soup and the crunchy things are really top notch. The dumplings are amazing- very juicy. The sesame chicken was perfectly cooked and tender. And the noodles and chicken were mild enough to please the kids (not easy to do). Oh- and the egg rolls were delicious too. Mama’s Taste is our new favorite in Fairfax!

Ordered take out about 5 times now. Every time the food is cooked quickly, is well made and is way above quality and portion for the price they're charging. Is it "Americanized" Chinese food? I suppose. But I've eaten a lot of barely passable take out in my day and you cannot beat the quality and amount (especially the proteins) of food you get in this area for this price.

After a 12 hour drive I thought this place would be a good place to stop, never been to VA before. Super sweet lady at the front, came on a quiet afternoon and had hot jumbo soup dumplings and Biang biang noodles. Mine were the perfect amount of spice, added flavor and wasn’t unbearable! The bok choy also adds a good crunch.

Don't be fooled by the looks. This Crispy Beef is the most amazing stuff on the planet. This item alone is worth the trek from anywhere. They also have really good brown rice. 🥡

One of the best tasting Chinese restaurants I’ve been to in the area! Dumplings are a must!

I order lunch here nearly every week, this is the best Chinese food I have ever had. Very kind and friendly staff that keeps a visibly clean and orderly kitchen that you can be confident about when it comes to food safety and quality. I would recommend anyone to atleast try Mama’s Taste if around the area.

This place is so good. I got the pork dumplings and the house flat noodles. Neither disappointed. The dumpling were exceptional and authentic. They let me know over the phone they are made to order so they are very fresh. The flat noodles were also very flavorful. Unfortunately I don't have any photos because I ate it all so quickly! I will definitely be back. This is my new go-to Chinese food spot.
