REI

This is a convenient location for REI. Located near every place else you could want to stop for errands. This inside of this location has 2 stories of REI goodies. It's very compact as far as how everything is organized, but you can find nearly everything you need here. This location even seemed to carry some clothes, shoes, and gear that wasn't offered on the floor of the other REI locations.

There is TONS of parking at this location. It's very convenient when you are trying to find a spot to load in all the gear, bikes, or people you are taking on your next adventure. The parking lot offers wheelchair accessible parking right up front, and it's easy to get up to the sidewalk.

The staff was helpful and accommodating without being annoying. They were willing to set things aside for pick up if you call ahead as well. This was an enjoyable place to shend time shopping.

Wow am I impressed with the staff here. Honestly I have never had a better customer service experience. Not only was each staff member exceptionally knowledgeable they were also very kind and eager to find the best suited product. Went in for rock climbing shoes not really knowing what I wanted and came out with the perfect pair. Thank You so so much!

She asked a manager and he was like yeah return it. So I still got my way and came up on some really cool new kicks. On my way out Ela was very helpful and also a very Gorgeous Queen!

Anything you need to walk or hike or backpack or bike or just work out, this place has it all. Including things you never knew existed. Cool store. Really helpful people.

REI (Recreational Equipment,Inc.) is more than just a store and employees. Their staff goes above and beyond just putting in work hours. They are educated, helpful, and go out of their way to ensure you are getting the best equipment for what you need.

They do offer a membership into their co-op, however you do not have to join. By joining though, you are helping not only yourself getting money back at the end of the year but you are helping REI to donate millions of dollars to help national organizations across our country.

You forget!

...just how great R.E.I.'s customer service is! At least, I did until I called and stopped in tonight. I simply called with a general question. The kind & well-informed young lady who answered the phone gave me the info I needed. But, there was more: she said "let me quickly connect you with someone in that dept., so we can tell you what kind of selection and sizes we have." Another kind employee (Don Angelo) took the call with no delay and went to the racks and came back on the line quickly with good news. I told him that I would stop in. Then, I got more great service: he offered to put my size & style (the LAST one available) at the front counter for me, under my name.
When I walked in the store a bit later, the cashier anticipated my needs and grabbed my product right away. I went to try them on for size. AI met another GREAT employee at the fitting rooms. Then Don Angelo came by, as I was walking out. He remembered my name and offered more tips and suggestions. I was blown away by this Encinitas/ Leucadia team. Check 'em out. They hire & train well! ...and they really care about their customers.

Awesome outdoors store with premium gear!! The employees are kind and knowledgeable. The gear is top-notch, and the selection is amazing. Joining the co-op gives you all sorts of benefits that are definitely worth it to my family. The only caution I would put forth is that the store is for enthusiasts. While they do have coupons from time to time and a resupply sections with gently used gear at a discount, it is still a store with premium gear, and premium gear carries a heavier price. That is not to say it isn't worth it or that you shouldn't stop in, as this truly is a one-stop shop for many outdoor activities.

I had an outstanding experience with REI when they tuned up my e-bike and performed various upgrades including changing tires, installing new brake pads, and rotors. The service was not only top-notch but also incredibly affordable at just $200. What truly impressed me was that the same services were quoted at a staggering $500 by another shop in Encinitas. REI's expertise, cost-effectiveness, and commitment to customer satisfaction have undoubtedly earned my loyalty. I couldn't be happier with the result and the value they provided.

Went by to look at the winter sales... and they moved stuff around, but I found something I had not found before, so I guess it worked out in some odd way...

It's an REI. You walk in, you walk out a little (or a lot) poorer. Staff was very helpful and accommodating as my wife tried on all of the hiking shoes. I'll continue to return and make self justified but poor financial decisions.

Just want to acknowledge how awesome the bike repair shop is at REI. Was having a problem with some sticky brake calipers and thought I'd trying walking in without an appointment. Ryan diagnosed and repaired the problem in less than an hour. He even made sure my bike was shifting smoothly and followed up with a call later that day. With expertise and customer service this good, I will definitely be coming back for all my bike repair needs and telling friends to do the same. Thanks again Ryan!

Went shopping to for a few things and service was great! The star of the store was Theo at checkout. So friendly and happy! He even recommended a few trails to hike. I would go out of my way to shop here again just for the Theo experience!

Was able to purchase an REI jacket on sale. Glad we stopped by.

As a 30+ year member, I've seen stores change. Since I'm happy with my gear, I don't need the latest technology--though it's very tempting. Backpacking has become expensive nowadays, and REI certainly reflects that. This particular store was clean, adequately staffed with helpful people my grandchildren's ages, and seemed well stocked. I'll always be loyal to REI, even if I don't buy much there anymore.

Staff is always helpful and nice. Great place to get gear if you're just getting into the backpacking/hiking scene. Love the 100% 1 year return/refund policy, if ya don't like it return it within a year and get all your money back.

Today I drove 1.5 hr with a baby and a toddler to get two snowboards waxed. It was hard to get into the store with the boards and my babies (and use the restroom), but a wonderful female employee totally helped me! Held my baby for me while we used the restroom and carried both my boards back out to my car and waited while I piled everybody and everything back in. She was my day-saver today!

This place has the best staff ever! They are the reason that i still believe there is hope for us humans! Kudos to every single one of the folks who work here and i am a lifetime customer already. (:
