A Place for Fido

Great selection and we had fun picking out and making a custom name tag for our newest family member.

Over the years I have bought a multitude of boots, coats, harnesses, toys, treats, etc at a Place for Fido. Very high quality products. Certainly not cheap, but you do get what you pay for. Can be very busy on the weekend so if you need help with fittings, I would try to go during the week when staff will have more time to assist if needed. It is one of my favorite places to go with my dog. I always find the staff to be very helpful and tolerant of my sweet girl who is definitely a work in progress. Fitger's is a great place to take your dog for some indoor manners training, social interactions, and exposure to things such as elevators.

Love coming her with the dogs. They will have events for dogs and their owners with fun games and photo contests which are always fun. Participated in the ice cream eating contest recently and even though we did not win it was still fun to see all the dogs in one place and my dog got to have some ice cream.

We bought dog booties and are so glad we came in rather than ordering online. They recommended bringing our dog, so that he could be fitted in the store, which I did. It was an enjoyable experience and I would never have chosen the right size for him on my own. Going by package measurements would have had me buying something way too big. They really know what they are doing and are so nice to their customers!

Love this place! Love that I can pick treats from a basket and have my dog pick what treats she get. And all staff but one has been very helpful and friendly.
Only one kind of bad experince where one of the staff seemed to be staring at me and watching me around the stands like they were just waiting for me to steal something. That's the first time I've had to deal with or notice that as person of color.

Very cool experience. They have a gift shop that is great for taking home a local souvenir. The workers were so curious about the puppy we brought it. The entire building is dog friendly and has a dozen or more shops to venture through. Very happy we stopped in.

My wife and I are getting a dog in May. We both have been dog owners before, but we had several questions about food, equipment, and items we need to prepare for our new addition to the family. The products they carry are unique and the staff is extremely knowledgeable. They are very accommodating and offer service you won't find in the "big box" stores. We have already decided we will buy all of our pet products from them because of how impressed we were. Oh yeah, they're custom leashes are AWESOME! Can't say enough about this local store.

Just added a new puppy to the family and with the cold snap we thought we might be out of luck finding cold weather gear. Thankfully they had a good selection of jackets and boots for our pup and they even helped us try everything on and made suggestions in multiple price points. They are a shining example of why you shop locally.

This shop at Fitgurs carries a good sized variety of quality items at great prices! Most of the items are for dogs, with a nice area designated to cats as well. The staff is very friendly! One of my favorite small shops in Duluth.

I am so grateful that folks invest their love into spaces like this one. It was so refreshing to have a lovely interaction with a gentleman who was willing to not only educate me on the various types of collars and their purposes but was also willing to fit my little pooch with the proper gear. My little grown Cavalier likes to pull the leash so intensely on her walks that she chokes herself no matter how much slack I allow her. The gentleman at A Place for Fido helped me through my guilty lack-of-training self talk and assured me that there is a way through! I left with a perfect harness, a beautiful hand-crafted leash, and a few other accoutrements to make me smile. I highly recommend skipping the big box joints and heading down to Fitgers to check out this place run with heart!

I adore this shop. They carry high quality dog food, treats, and toys. I can rely on them to have cute but tough toys in stock for “new puppy” presents. Also, they do free delivery for food!

This is a great pet store. They always have a lot of the nicer brands and high quality supplies which I really like. I’ve bought multiple things here for my dog. The staff are always really nice and can always answer my questions! It’s also nice to shop local :)

They have everything you need for your furry best friend! They even have a small cat section as well. I didn't know that their paracord that they're known for is custom made only. I did find out that you can get it delivered though! Definitely check it out if you're in the area, the building is dog friendly, so bring your doggo with!

Love the service and that they always order in what we need. Louis got his Alaska Army Canada Pooch coat there. Coming from Houston he needed a good winter coat for Duluth winters 😂😂😂 - The whole complex is so dog friendly. We love shopping Local in the building.

Great, unique place to find things for your puppies! Even has a few cat items! Got some unique things I hadn't seen other places for reasonable prices.

We love to visit this dog store when we go up to Duluth and it's so fun to bring our pup in the shopping area with us. Duluth is such a dog friendly town and this store exemplifies the dog friendly vibe of the city!

Owners Jaime and Ben are the nicest folks. They remember and take care of their customers. They carry great products and have a frequency food purchasing program that gives me a free bag after every 12, so about once a year. Highly recommend!

Staff is everything and they have THE BEST staff there. Very good selection of toys and outfits for your four legged friend. Not too many places you walk into gives you a warm feeling, but this place sure does!

This store is awesome. The staff are knowledgeable and give great advice on the best products, especially if you are bringing your dog(s) into the back country. Highly recommend!
