Perfect place for a gorgeous So Cal day. Patio was full but hostess did a great job of accommodating us the best she could. Love the atmosphere and the server was super personable. He recommended the Cardiff Crack Has and it was terrific and a little comedic (check the pic and see if you can see why).

Good place to come with family and friends. Also the Top Gun house is next door!

Food was creative and very flavorful. Lots of different fusion foods and some classics as well. All are done very well.

The fried rice was very good. You can have the pork replaced with chicken, beef, or extra eggs. The Kimchi and pineapple gave it a nice balance of sweet and tartness and having the egg on top instead of scrambled into the rice allows each ingredient to stand out on its own better.
The fish and chips was fantastic as well. Very light and flaky but crispy crust. The sauce was so light and fresh. A nice dill flavor that pairs well with hot sauce.

They do not have fried chicken and waffles anymore as of April 2024.

We were walking our dog and stopped here because we were starving. The view is something amazing. Location is primo. We ordered the, BLT, stuffed waffles mimosa and Mexican coke. Everything was delicious. Prices are pretty high but I guess it’s expected since you’re paying for the view too. Our waitress was super nice and personable. She was really on top of everything as well and checked in. Coolest part was we got to bring our dog. He loved it too.

Completely shocked at some of the reviews here. Most that I have read kept referring to the pricing. Well, it is Oceanside and the location of this restaurant is steps away from the ocean. I don’t think it’s fair to review a place based on pricing. Although I personally think the pricing is fair, I will gladly pay more for great food and service which is what we found here. The restaurant overall was clean, the seating (my bf pointed out) very comfortable, the food great, and the service was excellent.

We came to Hi Lo for breakfast and were seated right away by a friendly hostess. Our server Chloe was extremely welcoming and greeted us right away. She was very friendly and gave great recommendations. We ordered the Huevos Rancheros and the Breakfast Burrito. We really needed caffeine so we both ordered lattes and they were perfect.

We were served our food quite fast so much so we hadn’t finished our lattes. Our food looked just as good as it tasted. We were very pleased with the flavors and presentation of our food. The HR had crunch, the beans tasted authentic, fried eggs were perfectly runny, and the rojo and verde sauce had complexity of spice and overall great flavor (red sauce was a tad on the spicy side). Generous dollops of sour cream and guacamole on top of my HR which was very tasty. My bf said the breakfast burrito was good as well. We ordered cookies and banana bread to go for our long ride home and they were equally as delicious as our breakfast was.

Overall we really enjoyed the food, view, and service. Chloe was very attentive and friendly. We really enjoyed our visit and will definitely be back to see her at the restaurant.

Great spot for food and drinks!! They're located at the bottom of Mission Pacific with a great view of the ocean and Oceanside Pier.

They have happy hour as well, starting a few hours before sunset and going 'til sunset, with food and drink specials, but hours can change with seasons.

We had a delicious brunch outside this morning. The service was fantastic. The food was absolutely amazing. Everyone at our table was impressed! Highly recommend this restaurant. View was great too!!

I had a fantastic experience when I stumbled across this restaurant in Bar randomly this week. Plenty of beautiful indoor and outdoor space. Perfect for a work day, lunch meeting, a date, or dinner. The food is fantastic and fresh with great seafood options. I had the shrimp roll which was so good I inhaled it and forget to take a picture.

The cocktails are out of this world and perfectly balanced. They make a mean Aperol spritz and French 75 (my two favorites). There’s also nothing better than drinking and dining with an oceanfront view an excellent service.

Let’s get into the service. kaila and tanner Took care of me while I was dining and having business meetings for over four hours. They were attentive, professional, super kind and courteous. They even allowed me to use their charging station because I had forgotten mine at home and needed to charge my iPhone before heading back to Los Angeles. I’m in the industry so I know good and bad service when I see it. Excellent. Would highly recommend this place especially if you love a good environment with great cocktail/mimosas/wine and food.

Great location rt in the beach in Oceanside CA...great service and fantastic food. The menu said BEST CLAM CHOWDER EVER....I grew up on the Chesapeake Bay so I know something about clam chowder...it was AMAZING! WELL DONE. Bread was delicious and fresh baked and chicken/avocado sandwich was excellent!

Our fav breakfast place on the coast. Amazing view AND even more amazing. The food is pretty good, too. Usually, a good view means meh food, but not here. I'm trying it for lunch today. The prices are a bit high, which is standard given the location etc. Great to relax and watch people pass by.

Best chicken sandwich I ever had! It was crunchy and had yummy bell peppers. The side salad had a jalapeño balsamic. That was a nice kick and different than I've ever had! Very comfortable couches with pillows and tables to eat on. Great views of pier and ocean! Beautiful hotel, lobby and restrooms at well as am outdoor area I walked my toddler around after eating. Across the street Pier is close short walking distance, also steps down will take you to the beach. Restaurant is next to light blue house from Top Gun movie. There is meter parking $1.50 hr on Pier View Way or $5 all day parking on N Meyers St. First time there, will be back!

I didn't eat but this is a very cool place. I had a cafe latte and sat on the patio looking at the Oceanside Pier. Other tables that had food looked good. Servers friendly. Love the decor.

Elijah and staff were amazing! It rained while we were there (we were seated on the patio) and they comped our drinks and pies. Elijah is a great manager and we will surely visit again. Thank you high/low! What an amazing experience despite the weather. Can’t say enough great things about this spot. Also, side note - all around great atmosphere and bathrooms.

Can’t say enough good things about this place. Normally a regular here for sunset happy hour but had some friends stop into town and Hi/Low was our second stop on the crawl. Unfortunately started to rain a bit multiple times while we were sitting on the patio and Elijah and company were great in trying to make as comfortable as possible. Can’t say enough good things about the staff and effort during trying times and overall hospitality. A++++

A quaint little place tucked away by the ocean. The food is excellent and the service is fantastic. They are quick to check on your needs and the food comes out fast!

10/10 would come back!

I want to edit my original review to say we’ve been back 2 more times. We enjoyed live music and a beautiful meal while watching an amazing sunset last Thursday. Then we went back to celebrate our anniversary on the 19th. The food is even better than Before, service was great, they have been power washing the outdoor area regularly which I think is all that’s needed to keep the flying insect guests from joining us. There were no flies. I actually hope they don’t install the class as I previously mentioned because the view is so beautiful!

Today is Sept. 5th 2021

I've lived in Oceanside for over 25 years, I have seen the many changes our little town has gone through and many changes since we bought our home in this small town. I don't agree with all of these changes as I don't feel they've kept the locals in mind. However, every once and awhile I find a gem that has kept us locals in mind as well as bringing in out of town visitors. High/ Low is definitely one of the places that has done an amazing job of catering to both categories.

Don't be intimidated by the 45 min wait that we just experience. Keep in mind that this is Labor Day weekend and a Sunday. The wait time may be less on other days but I don't know. I do know they accept reservations. I've heard that Thursday they have live music which is a nice compliment to our Thursday night Farmers market.

If you experience a wait, relax and walk across the street, find a bench and enjoy the unobstructed view of our beautiful Oceanside. Take a walk down the Pier, have a short stroll through downtown. Basically what I'm saying is it's worth the wait.

Today we enjoyed sitting outside. It was a perfect combo of sun and shade provided by an umbrella and ocean breeze. We sat sipping our refreshing corpse reviver drinks while having a full view of Oceanside pier, and surfers riding waves. The only thing that would make it better might be in the evening, the 4th, or any holiday providing beautifully light streets and buildings.

Our server was Nicole B. She is amazing. I'd recommend you ask to sit in her section.

I ordered the Hawaiian rice and chicken rice salad. Having been born and raised in Hawaii I can say the Hawaiian fried rice took me back to my childhood in Kailua. The chicken rice salad was also AMAZING!

My only concern is this. Apparently the Hotel is supposed to maintain the outside eating area by power washing the concrete and putting glass around the perimeter to reduce insects. Neither of which was done. Because of their lack of attention there where spills of unknown origin on the ground and flies. Once the power wash is done regularly, umbrellas repaired and glass put up around the perimeter I feel the problem will be resolved. These things are no reflection on the restaurant but on the beautiful hotel which apparently manages the grounds.

All in all our day was amazing, Nicole B is amazing, our drinks- The Corpse Reviver was light, refreshing and delicious, and the food was wonderful!

This is a definite favorite for me and I highly recommend it for locals and tourists alike. It's pet friendly too!

While visiting our niece in Oceanside we stopped and had lunch at high low. It was very good. The atmosphere overlooking the beach was very nice. The food was also very good. I enjoyed their Cobb salad ( lightly mixed in dressing with chopped lettuce) my wife enjoyed her fish and chips and my niece a cheese burger. It was all nicely prepared. The menu had a very nice variety of items priced from $13 to $19. It was what I expected from the town and location. I did not find it to be unreasonable for the quantity and atmosphere.

Amazing sunset cocktail spot and coveted ocean views! Fun creative cocktails and great menu. Lounge furniture is comfy and the vibe is chill. A short walk to (or from) the pier.

Love the place! The staff were nice and the food was good. I can only imagine what it's like in the summer. We came in for an early breakfast. It was nippy, so we dined in, but most of the patrons opted for the views and dined outside.

Vegan Banana pancakes and eggs were delicious. Coffee flat white with vanilla was smooth and enjoyable. Service was kind and calming.

Super pretty and aesthetic spot! Loved everything about the design of this restaurant. They have kid friendly coloring menu.. and the menu is pretty fun.
