This is the original and also the very best Swami’s location. I have been coming here for two decades at least it feels like and the quality and atmosphere have been the same. Amazing! Can’t say enough good things about this location. We live in Vista and have our own swami’s, but being at the this location hits different. The vibes are so good here.

Loved the food and the beach vibes at this restaurant. The chilaquiles were fantastic, as was the veggie omelette. Hearty portions too so enough leftover for a second meal. A large selection of coffees, including organic options, and plenty of outside seating. We’ll definitely be back!

I had a breakfast on Sunday morning with friends. It was pretty busy so I figured out why this place was full, because the food is delicious! If you go to San Diego or coming back to L.A you must stop in Encinitas and try their breakfast.

We came for brunch on Sunday around 11. Love this location, all the food is so good and they have options for every diet. We had the berry french toast, chorizo potato hash, and chilaquiles with iced coffee and a lemon ginger shot.

The food is great at any Swami's! We ate outside this day. We went between busy times.

Our breakfast burritos and coffee were fantastic. We sat outside to enjoy the fresh air and scenery. I wish they did a better job of cleaning the bird poo off the chairs... it was on EVERY single chair, all 30-40 of them.
I will 100% be going back on my next trip to San Diego.

This is our favorite breakfast spot. The pitaya bowl and the garlic chicken omelette are our favorites :) also the blueberry coffee is the best.

We had the pancake breakfast. Those were some of the best fluffy pancakes I've had in my life, for a good price. Waitress was nice and the location was exuberant.

Since 2005, Jaime has operated this iconic beachy Hwy 101 Swami's Cafe, embodying the relaxed surfer pace and mentality, and serving up an extensive menu, from smoothies to burgers, and everything in between.

Drop in for a quick bite indoors or relax with your friends for hours on the outdoor patio while enjoying classic tunes!

While this place encourages a convenient self serve mentality, Celyn, Moonbeam I liken her to, offers friendly service with a great 70s vibe!

The blueberry pancake, perfectly executed plate of fluffiness with bursting blueberries, hit the spot...I ate it all. Looking forward to coming back to sample the shakes, wraps and smoothies. Cheers!

I can not say enough about this place. We’re visiting from New York and I’m SO happy we stopped here for breakfast. First of all, the spinach, tomatoes and feta omelette was phenomenal! BUT CAN WE TALK ABOUT THE FRENCH TOAST. I’ve been searching for a good classic French toast that doesn’t taste eggy; this was FAR from eggy. SO DELICIOUS. Please, please never stop making your French Toast this way. The service was fast and food was fresh. Loved every single thing about our experience. Also, the coffee was GREAT.

What a fun restaurant with a cool vibe! It feels like a fun hangout spot for all the hottest surfers in California! Staff are all young and energetic. It has got some cool decorations throughout the restaurant. Came on a week day so no wait for us. Huge portion!!!! I ordered an ahi tuna salad and it came with two toasts. The balsamic sauce on top of the tuna was on point. Clam chowder soup was very delicious! The menu was pretty overwhelming. I will definitely come back and try something else.

Headed home from LA, looking for a late brunch, we found ourselves walking into Swami’s Cafe for the 1st time, (we’ve lived in San Diego 5 years). I can’t believe it took this long after hearing all the positive reviews and learning about this staple in San Diego. I ordered the special, Lobster Benedict and a coffee. Of which, I was confronted with about 7 different options! I chose the medium roast before immediately spotting my ideal spot to enjoy my meal. I had enough time to drink my coffee in their well lit patio, surrounded by plants and a beautiful water feature, It was peaceful and happy. My food was promptly served and was absolutely delicious. A perfect brunch on a late Sunday evening.

Stopped by for breakfast in our way to Ensenada. Great breakfast selection. We had the following:
Lobster Benedict: amazing
Eggs Benedict: delightful.
California omelette (watch out for jalepenos). Add a good spice but my mother in law who does not enjoy anything spicy was Afraid to have another bite.
Burrito: delicious
Waffles Benedict: delicious
Side choice of fruit, or potatoes

I had a cold brew and my wife and mother in law had the coffee. There was a great selection of various types of coffee.

We will definitely stop by again!

Classic healthy chill restaurant. Order at the front and they bring the did to you. Great selection of vegetable forward offerings. Burgers and now as well. The acai bowl is fantastic and beautiful. Everyone was very hairy with what they ordered. Inside and outside seating available (first come first served).

The turkey burger is top notch. Juicy and flavorful.

The veggie sandwich is definitely worth considering. It's got a great crunch and is full of all kinds of veggies (we skipped the mushrooms)

Some people complain that this place is not funky enough. It's plenty funky for me!
I'd like the menu choices and the quantity and quality of the food.
Specially love eating outdoors under the shelter by the banana leand palm trees.
We ordered the green omelette, and Belgian waffles - good healthy food!

Casual setting with outdoor dining. Fresh ingredients, lots of vegetarian options and also meat. Fast service. Great food, no frills. Try the Swami club sandwich or the black bean burrito for lunch.

Some family came down from Northern Ca. to visit the UCSD campus. It's a maybe for my super smart niece Matty. The next day they went to Swami's garden. One of the best places to visit if your in the area. Beautiful and serene. Then to Swami's restaurant and got quite a treat. With the fresh veggies and fruit everyone was happy with their meal out on the patio.

There are several locations in the area including one in Oceanside where we were staying. However, we wanted to go to the original one on the 101.

It is a quaint, typical SoCal beach town restaurant. They have some indoor seating, lots of seating outside in front of property, and some outdoor side seating. The side area is the one we sat at. It was overcast, a bit windy and cool, but this worked great for us.

My husband and I opted for two of their Specials. I had the Lobster Eggs Benedict; he had the Hanna Banana Peanut Butter Oatmeal. My choice was delicious. The eggs were perfectly done. The hollandaise sauce was creamy and flavorful. The lobster tasted very fresh and not a bit tough.

The real winner here was the Oatmeal. There was about two spoons of peanut butter in the middle of the oatmeal. It also included sliced bananas, sliced apples, and walnuts. The combination of all, was fantastic. I had a little taste because my husband wouldn't share more than that. For the record I kept offering my breakfast to him. He took a bite of mine and liked it; but he adamantly expressed the Oatmeal was exceptional and was very glad he got it. A local very nice lady was having the oatmeal as well near our table. She said that this is all she's ever had at Swami's and orders it every weekend.

They also have a great selection of self serve coffees. We tried the blueberry coffee thinking we wouldn't like it and could get something else. It turned out it was smooth, not too sweet,. simply delicious.

We will definitely return next time we are in the area. Might try the one in Oceanside. Other reviews indicate that the food is pretty consistent for all locations. But this location is so unique odds are we'll be back to the 101 one.
