Rise & Grind Cafe, Powhatan, VA

This is my favorite coffee shop I’ve been to in central Virginia. They serve some great fresh breakfast dishes here with a lot of coffee choices. Love what they’ve done with the inside of the place especially with their large view windows and flooring.

Real cute coffee shop. They make a good dirty chai latte and matcha latte, among other coffees. Fun tasty seasonal coffees. You can also come on a Saturday afternoon (or anytime) and get a coffee FLIGHT. They serve ice cream, so one of your coffees can be an affogato. I'm looking forward to it in the future! I'll be back. (Oh, and good lunch sandwiches)

Stopped in for.some coffee and glad I did! Lovely space, exceptional service and quality coffee and baked goods. I am GF DF and was pleasantly surprised to find my dietary limitations were accommodated without even asking. They have alternative milks and GF and GF/DF options 😃 Well done!

This is my favorite coffee shop. Everyone is so delightful and kind. I also love supporting the local businesses. If your in Powhatan and have not been, you must. They have the best muffins and cakes around and there Chai tea, Cappuccino’s are spot on. I will continue to go.

The coffee is really good. Love the Pumkin Spice Latte and normal Cappuccino here. Also, all staffs are super nice.

Stopped in for a few quick Togo items with my 3yo. They had an acoustic musician playing and everyone was really enjoying themselves. As someone who grew up in Powhatan, it’s really nice to see such a great local spot do so well. The Açaí Bowl was delicious and we will be back.

Coffee is absolutely amazing. The egg bites are phenomenal. I can’t say enough good things about this place. The owners and staff are always super friendly.

Rise & Grind has only been open for a couple of months, and they're already gaining traction as a solid café with an exceptional product and first-rate service. With handmade baked goods and only the finest freshly-ground coffee, they are a treat. It is my hope that business stays booming for years to come.

Stopped here on a whim and was not disappointed! I ordered a speciality iced latte and it was delicious! The baked goods were also very good. I like that they have options for all diets; gluten free, dairy free, sugar free and zero sugar syrups (good flavors too!) the staff were also super friendly. I will definitely be back!

I’ve been here twice and both trips the service was quick and the staff were pleasant. The first time I was with a coworker and we were grabbing a bunch of hot coffees for members of our team and surprisingly enough we were in and out within 10 minutes. My second visit was the other day because I needed an iced coffee for a mid day pick me up. I’ve only gotten into iced coffee within the last few months and I appreciated how patient and helpful the women who took my order was with me. O settled on the iced caramel macchiato and I loved the fact they had almond milk and almond whipped cream! I didn’t have to add any additional sweetener or sugar so it was a double bonus for me. There were a few other people working inside the cafe and another group was ordering pastries while I waited so I’ll have to be sure to try those out the next time I stop in.

Found this coffee shop when I was looking for a new breakfast place to try and we ended up here and it’s the absolute cutest shop I’ve been too! Amazing coffee, sweet owners, & amazing food! Loved it so much I came back the next morning and brought my best friend with me and neither of us made it out of the shop with our coffee full, we finished it before we walked out! Definitely one of our new favorite places ❤

Went for the first time today 11/11. Had a few kids with us and we loved it. Great service and the coffee was delicious. Could use some acoustic panels.

Had a delicious cafe mocha!! Highly recommend. I live in Midlothian and love Starbucks but this is definitely worth driving a bit further for!! Top quality and a very reasonable price compared to other coffee shops. Baked good look delicious too!!

The coffee is wonderful - better than that national chain :), staff were extremely friendly. The local vibe is uniquely Powhatan. I love the wall of local vendors’ artwork, etc.

Kudos to Rise and Grind. I went in on a Saturday around 11am. A line was almost out the door, the staff were swift and quick with orders. Even though they were busy, they took the time to talk to customers and make sure they were getting what they wanted. Highly recommend!

The perfect coffee shop! I've never walked in and not been greeted with love and warmth! The coffee , Shannon , staff and the sweet treats are amazing. An ideal place to come and relax or work or meet friends. if you desire Small town charm , local and amazing service, you've found the right place

People are sooo nice! The scone was so good we only have a picture of the crumbs. The veggie bagel sandwich is also excellent.

we found this gem recently and have been back on a weekly basis. the coffee and ice cream are delicious! I also had the lox bagel which I found to be very good as well. the staff is very friendly and helpful. they always welcome us and our kids when we visit.

Service is great and the owner is so sweet (plus the coffee is sooo good!) the shop is so cute and there’s a wide variety of coffee and other drinks as well as the homemade food
