Shabu Time

Today was my first time trying this hot pot place since my friend recommended it. We came around lunchtime and ordered the Creamy Vegetarian soup base, the Spicy Sichuan soup base, medium sized toro belly, and we got the shack sauce. The inside was busy since it was during lunch hour, but the staff were well organized.

When the Creamy Vegetarian soup base first came out, it tasted a bit creamy but it felt like it was missing something. After adding vegetables and the toro belly, the soup base tasted better. I would preferred the Spicy Sichuan soup base with mild spice. The Spicy Sichuan - mild was seasoned well and when you add the vegetables and toro beef, it enhanced the soup base even more! It’s definitely my favorite here! I would also recommend getting the Shack Sauce, even though it’s an extra $0.50 for it. The sauce pairs really well with the toro belly. The toro belly meat was soft and you can taste the quality of it.

Service was friendly and food was brought out fairly quickly. This is a good spot to go if you are craving hot pot. I will definitely be coming back to try the other soup bases and meat!

Always a phenomenal time here. Constant quality of food and service. The only knock is it's a little smaller and not easy to accommodate larger parties. But the staff here is always amazing and as accommodating as much as possible. My favorite Shabu restaurant in the South Bay.

I stumbled upon this place looking for udon in Japantown with my daughters. The waiter was super friendly and accommodating. He answered all our questions and was super helpful. We ordered the torro beef belly, shrimp, 2 udon noodles with tonkotsu broth. It came with veggies which was awesome. I also got the truffle and shake sauce. Everything was amazing. My kids really enjoyed it. And it was just the right amount for the 3 of us. Overall a great experience. Definitely coming back.

Got food here the other night and it was delicious. I got the vegetarian options, and my friend got the seafood option, and we both really liked our dishes. As someone who has only had shabu shabu only a couple times before, this is another layer of fun for going out to a restaurant getting to cook your food on your table, on top of good food and excellent service.

Jasmine was the best! First time having hot pot, Jasmine was so kind to explain the process, and check in on us often. This is such a fun thing to do for a date night or out with friends, because you can easily share a meal. Desserts were yum as well! Atmosphere was great in Japan Town. We will be back.

There was a bit of a wait because it's a popular spot, but the service was great, the food was delicious, and we had a wonderful time. I got the seafood and tonkotsu broth, my partner got the Kobe beef and spicy miso. Delicious!

So good. I had the sukiaki. It was prefect. I ordered the "linguine" and I shouldn't have. It was hard to chew with caps on my teeth. I loved the dipping sauces they offered too.

I was helped by a server named Jasmine, and she was very polite and welcoming. She suggested the chili dumplings and they were phenomenal! Will definitely come back for amazing food and service!

The wagu & angus are always fresh and tasty. . The service is awesome. Broth is hot spicy. The fish balls are the best!

Delicious and authentic are how I would describe this place. I loved the all-you-can-eat option including kobe beef! We tried all the meats, udon noodles, pot stickers, fish balls and assorted veggies plus edamame. Awesome service to boot!

We really enjoyed this new dining experience! For the uninitiated, shabu is like a fondue and ramen mashup. They bring out the broth, and it stays at boiling temp so you can cook your veggies and meat. Then you spoon the broth and cooked contents into a smaller bowl that you eat from.

They sliced the meat very finely, so it cooked in less than a minute. I like that better than fondue TBH

I thought is was delicious. Broth is very tasty unlike other hotpot places I’ve been to. Very polite staff. Overall a nice night. The best way I can put it is subtly good.

I was a Shabu first timer. The team was amazing and walked me through all the options and different tastes. 100% coming back. Great portions and amazing flavors. I got the spicy miso and it was perfectly balanced.

Love, love, love this place. Staff were super friendly and helpful. We got a large serving each and it was more than enough food. It was a new experience cooking and eating at the same time, but once we got the hang of it, it was pretty fun. Plus the location is nice. After we ate, we walked around Japantown for a bit. Highly recommend.

First time experience for us. Jasmine was great and took all the time we needed to make a decision on what to order. Will definitely be back, when we are back in town.

The highlight of this place is the customer service. I didn’t catch his name, but the server was extremely nice and actually seemed to enjoy his job. It can’t be easy for him since it was only him and occasionally one other person working the tables on a busy weekend night.

Dinner cost $86 total for two of us. This includes two medium entrees (meat, vegetables, and vermicelli), two sides, 3 drinks, and two frozen desserts to go. With tip I think we ended up paying a little over $100.
