Brad has been my accountant for almost 20 years. My wife and I moved to Santa Rosa Beach from Nashville way back in 2001 and four years ago we purchased another home in the Nashville area to be closer to our kids. And we started renting our SRB home. We now travel back and forth and I have kept Brad as my accountant not only because of a friendship I have developed with him but more importantly because he files my business and personal income taxes. Brad has a FIVE STAR rating from me!!

I’ve been going to Brad for 5 years, since I moved here. My taxes are complicated with my W2 work, 1099 PT contractor position, and my business. I stupidly thought I could go it alone this year, which would have cost me $1000 to save his small fee. NEVER AGAIN!! I couldn’t recommend anyone else. Brad is THE CPA OF 30A. He knows what he’s doing; he’s the BEST!!

Upon recommendation from others I have used this business the last couple years. On both occurrences I have been out of town for months at a time while being told that my taxes would be completed "first of next week" which never happened.

This year, I dropped my paperwork off in February, asked what to expect as a timeline and was given no response via email. In April I contacted them on the phone and was told that I needed to come in for an appointment, only to find out that this appointment was to "drop off my documents".... That had been dropped off a couple months prior. This was laughed off and mentioned that they needed to find the documents and that it would be completed.

I have contacted Brad multiple times to get an update with zero response at all. No call backs, no email responses etc. I have all of these for review.

I asked for copies of my income statement since I'm in the middle of a purchase and was never responded to ( I am unable to show up at the office due to working out of town ). Today, just like the previous year, months later I had to have my wife go to his office to collect our documents. We find that once again, he never started on them which I suspect is why he never responded to any of my attempts to contact him.

We will be using another company from here on.

Just in the event of a response to this review, my emails were weeks apart and I can post proof of being unanswered. At first I assumed this was due to COVID but then remembered how everything went the year before.

Hopefully others have a better experience if they are using them.

To you and your team, I wish the best, I hope that this is just due to you being busy with clients but I cannot wait months on end with zero communication to find that nothing has been done even though you've stated that they had been started on.

If I could leave zero stars, I would. I took my taxes into Brad’s office in February. In March, they still hadn’t filed them, so my husband called them to check on everything and they told us they couldn’t find our documents. When they “found” them, they assured us they’d be finished by “next week.” Next week rolled around, and we called and got no answer. We left a message and got no reply. We sent emails and got no reply. We called more and left more voicemails and got no replies. It’s now June and i finally went to his office to see what was taking so long. I arrived to find him with an older minority couple in his office, to whom he was being quite disagreeable and rude. When it was my turn to be seen, he wouldn’t even invite me into his office. He had his assistant give me my documents and tell me that they hadn’t even started on them, so I took my folder and left. As a mixed race person, 0/10 I would NOT recommend.

Unfortunately a very poor experience for both my husband and I. If I could leave no stars I would. We went to Brad a year ago, to file 2017 returns. At the time, he collected $250 from each of us ($500 total and to be fair, we were not married for FY2017 and were filing separately) to do approximately an hour's worth of work. One of the main questions that was asked had to do with ESPP (Employee Stock Purchase Program) to make sure that everything was reported properly. The only reason it took so long is that he was on the phone with the IRS to make sure he was filing correctly. In my opinion, I actually considered that a plus, at the time, since we preferred to have taxes done correctly. Of course, that was until we got a little note from the IRS stating that we owed money. Nobody gets particularly excited about those types of notes, however after some of our own investigation, we uncovered that he didn't properly disclose to the IRS the ESPP program so that we wouldn't get a notification. No big deal, we all make mistakes. Thought I would take it to him first to see if he would make it right. After all, we are on 30A and are paying a premium for services. One would hope that would with excellent service. What a disappointment the experience turned out to be. After returning to the office and having him tell me that I didn't report the stocks properly. Took some time to remind him that I had delivered all documentation when we sat in his office last year, along with all of the paperwork that I believe he would need to refile the taxes properly, and asked him to review the documents I have provided one more time, particularly around ESPP, prior to telling me that I didn't report earnings properly. He reviewed and in a few minutes stated that he wouldn't be able to get to it until the weekend and the docs would be ready on Monday. I said, "Fine, I will be here." Then he added that "It will be $100." Then I said "No." His comment, "You need to pay me for my time." My thought was, are you kidding me? We spent $500 for you to not file our taxes properly and now we have to come back to you and offered you an opportunity to fix the mistake (after explaining what the mistake was) and then get charged again for making the wrong decision in CPA the first time?!?!? I outright stated that I couldn't believe he was charging me $100 to re-do the work I already paid him to do and I thought it was unprofessional. I was asked to leave the office or the cops would be called. LOL Evidently if you tell a business owner that he is overcharging a local and not providing service that is in line with asking prices, it is worth involving the cops. Skip this weak CPA, go to someone else and save yourself the pain of paying for a service that you keep having to pay for since it won't be done right, the first time.
