Absolutely fantastic coffee shop. They're true to their roots, so be prepared to try what they have on offer. Don't expect to get your regular. Delightful rhubarb pastry. Perhaps the best I've had in Santa Cruz. There was one person working who managed to keep it all afloat. She could have definitely used another hand because the people just kept coming. I got the basic espresso with whipped sugar cane. I almost walked away from this GEM of a coffee shop. I'm so glad I decided to go outside of my regular and try something new. We will be back. Maripose Coffee Bar is such a special gem to have here in Santa Cruz. Their fusion of Cuban and Vietnamese culture, recipes, and vibes elevate this place to a whole other level. You can just feel the love that’s put into everything they do. Watching this start as a little pop up and turn into the dreamy, peaceful, community full place it is today has been such a wonderful journey to be apart of. After living in Miami for a few years I was so sad to leave behind the Cuban coffee culture. I am so grateful to now be able to walk downtown and get my fix ! Cuban coffee is so special and I wish people would take more time to learn what it actually is. The staff at mariposa is very knowledgeable and always crafting these special coffees to perfection. I love all the new things they come out with and am always so excited to try them. Don’t even get me started on the food ! Ever since I had my first spring roll I was hooked ! All the ingredients are so fresh and seem to be made to order. Nothings premade and sitting around all day. Mariposa coffee bar reminds me to relax, take a breather, and just be in the moment. It’s always one of my more favorite parts of the week to walk and see all their friendly faces and get my coffee fix ! Thank you for all that you bring and do for this community! I completely loved the place, what an amazing vibe and the food and coffee is perfection. I’m from Miami and the pastelitos at this place hands downs makes the Miami pastelitos look like rookies. The pastelitos were so soft and fluffy. I had some Vietnamese egg sandwich don’t know the name but oh boy was it delicious. The place has such a family and friend atmosphere. Everyone was so friendly even the other clients. If I lived in Santa Cruz this place would definitely be one of my regular spots. Makes me want to move to Santa Cruz. Lol

I love this place! Great music, great vibes. Love the decor. Mixing Vietnamese and Cuban cuisines into one synergistic combination. After you enjoy your cafe con leche, indulge in Vietnamese coffee just watch that caffeine concentration 😀

My friend and I decided to check out this place we are trying to check out as many coffee places downtown. This place was absolutely wonderful! I ordered the Bella Bon Bon, it had the perfect balance between sweet and coffee taste. And the guava jam and cream cheese pastry is amazing paired with the coffee. The pastries weren't available when we ordered our coffee but this place was very accommodating and said they were making more. And they let us know the pastries were done being baked so we could order them. Very wonderful and kind staff. Thank you for the yummy food and drink, will definitely come again.

Prepare yourself for mismatched porcelain, plush seating, and a playlist landing somewhere between hip-hop and house music. This is the kind of cafe for the young and restless. The Cuban and Vietnamese influence isn't superficial, either; both heavily inform the cuisine on the menu. As someone who typically walks into a cafe looking for a croissant to go with my coffee, I'll sit down with a noodle bowl bigger than my head at Mariposa.

I got a cafe con leche and a guava jam and cream cheese pastry. Both of them were amazing and paired well together. When I got here the pastries were still baking so they didn't charge me until they were out, letting everyone know when they were done. I understand why they're so popular too, it was perfectly sweet and balanced. I'm definitely coming back later and ordering this again.

The high ratings are what convinced me to try this place and I’m glad I did. Unfortunately I don’t remember the name of the drink I ordered but it was amazing. One of the most unique yet delicious coffees I’ve had in awhile. I strongly recommend stopping here cause the reviews live up. 4.9/5.

The cafe has a very homely, warm, and comfortable vibe with couches and communal dining tables. The Cafe Con Leche with oat milk is excellent - unlike any coffee I've had. I got the Nem Nuong Spring rolls which were good too. Though the cafe is vegetarian, would love to see more vegan options.

I dream about this place all the time. Their Vietnamese coffee is my absolute favorite thing to order along with a veggie ham and cheese cubano.
Everyone that works there is kind and courteous to everyone, the host awesome events and play music I love.
As someone that doesn’t consume alcohol, I like to pregame going out to shows with their Vietnamese coffee. It was the perfect pick me up for going to see Excision and kept me vibing all night long.
Cannot recommend this place enough if you are looking for authentic Vietnamese and Cuban delights.

Mariposa has it all - fabulous Vietnamese & Cuban coffee, delicious vegetarian food, friendly service, and a creative & cozy atmosphere. Bring your laptop or book and get ready to enjoy the music and good vibes. This business is also founded and owned by 2 local women.

I highly recommend the Coradito (espresso with whipped sugar and whole milk) and the Beef and Chorizo Pastry (plant-based beef and soyrizo in a puff pastry).
I can’t wait to try their Vermicelli Noodle Bowl with a Mint Drip next time!

From chilly Wasaga Beach, Ontario Canada to sunny Santa Cruz, California. So, we're on this road trip from LA to San Francisco and we stumbled upon Mariposa Coffee shop. Can I just say, mind = blown! 🤯 Being Canadians who take coffee seriously, this place was a gem. The coffee? Absolute magic. Not your run-of-the-mill brew, but a specialty that's out-of-this-world delicious. The vibe and theme were spot on – made our pit stop an experience. If you're into coffee adventures, Mariposa is a must-try. Trust me, your taste buds will thank you! ☕🇨🇦

Beautiful vibey Cafe nestled on a corner right in downtown Santa Cruz! The place is full of plans, colorful lights and bubbling conversations. Staff is friendly, drinks are DELICIOUS, as are the pastries and Vietnamese noodles! 🤩 10/10 will frequent whenever I'm in town 🔥

Possibly one of my most favorite coffee shops. Perfectly located downtown, excellent environment and vibe in their store. They specialize in Cuban and Southeast Asian coffee drinks. Try something different or get the typical. Some nice food items some of which are vegan. Very calm and cool atmosphere inside.

Chelsea was incredibly nice and welcoming! Ordered the Bella Bon Bon and it had great tasting espresso. A better version of a salted caramel macchiato!

Went for the first time today and can’t wait to go back next weekend! We got the table side coffee and it was such a fun experience to have time to chat while it brewed in front of us! The vibe was really great and the owners were super friendly! Everyone around the shop seemed to be enjoying their drinks too! Would highly recommend for a date, with friends, or solo!
