This place saved my weekend with a camera rental after realizing on the airplane that I forgot to grab my gear bag! Reasonable prices, super helpful and responsive service. I'm glad places like this still exist for the photographer community!

I have worked with Ball Photo for years but this year they provided me the rare ability to give my adult children and granddaughter superb Christmas presents. I've held on to 45 years of photos with no negatives. There were over 1000 of them. I started bringing Gabe scores of them starting in August. Often there were multiples of each photo depending of which of those who were captured. He scanned the photos and worked from a USB drive for at least 600 more.

If it weren't for the exceptional staff, there would have been no Plan B. I have given my family photos of their childhoods up to the present. Photo albums with actual photos don't exist anymore and I am exceedingly blessed by Ball's existence.

I give the whole staff, especially Gabe, an A+ for their abilities, generosity and continual positivity to meet my deadlines. They were stellar beyond words.

I'm just starting my journey into film photography, and the guys at Ball Photo Supply have been a great help in recommending different color and B&W films, explaining their differences, and developing my (admittedly poorly taken) photos for me. Very grateful to have them as a resource in Asheville!

Ball Photo Lab always does truly excellent work. They take great care of their customers. I've shipped them film several times, in addition to visiting their retail location. I've attached a few select photos from their lab, and I hope to reflect the great work that they do for me!

I'm jealous of the locals that have access to this shop. I picked up a used Fuji lens and binoculars for my daughter. The older gentleman who helped me is friendly and knowledgeable. If you dabble in film they have a fantastic selection for extremely reasonable prices.

My partner and I brought a box full of old film and disposable cameras we found in a family storage unit. We had no idea if we could get them developed. Elliot walked us through everything and was so kind! They were able to develop some of the rolls. He explained why the coloring might be off, the process, and how we can get prints made. Everyone there was so helpful and offered us the use of their light table to look at the negatives. The pricing was about what we were expecting. Overall we could not be more happy! Elliot and everyone there rocks!

Great film store. We should be grateful to even have one in Asheville, let alone the fact that they are affordable, helpful, and carry a wide selection of supplies. Walk in with a humble attitude, and you can only expect kindness.

Great place, their photo development service is great. Just don’t EVER sell them your camera. They offered us $180 for a camera that we sold in a couple days on eBay for $800.. At least make reasonable offers to your customers..

Great place with lots of gear. The employees inside were very helpful seeing as how I'm an amateur in photography. Unfortunately for my particular camera they didn't have the lense I was looking for. He said that not a lot of people trade in Sony lenses.

I was in Asheville visiting from Atlanta and was so happy to have found this shop! I found myself needing film one day, and Everett was a huge help. I'm new to film photography and he explained the different kinds of film to me to help choose the best ones for what I was wanting to use them for. I found myself in here for a second time a couple of days later because I was struggling with one of my cameras. Dan and another man (unfortunately didn't catch his name) helped me figure out what was going on with my camera and even took the time to take a look at my other film camera that I didn't know how to use and was also afraid was messed up. These guys were absolutely wonderful! I appreciate the effort they made to help me and in answering my newbie questions. Shops like this one are hard to find and I'm so happy to have found them! They have the knowledge and are willing to help, not to mention the endless gear they have available. Visiting them is absolutely going to be part of my rounds anytime I'm in Asheville! Thank you so so much!

These guys really helped me out when I needed it. I'm just getting in to analog photography, and bought an old Minolta camera online, that didn't work.I traded another camera for a Minolta X700 and I couldn't be happier. They had patience, and made me feel like I was getting a lesson without paying the price tag for it. In two days, I've shot my first roll of 35mm film in years, and I'll be bringing it to them to process and develop. I'm glad they are around!

I got back into film photography about a year ago. I saw that Asheville had a camera store, and I figured I would go in there to see what it was like. I am originally from the New York City area, and I have had the opportunity to go to many of the big-name camera stores. I cannot tell you how incredible it is that we have a place like Ball Photo right here in Asheville. Everyone there, and I mean everyone- Everett, Elliot, Dan, Itay, and Jared are awesome. These guys know what they are talking about. I am not a professional photographer, but I am not at all ignorant regarding photography, and these guys are the real deal. I have purchased cameras, film, paper, darkroom supplies, tripods, camera cases, batteries, cleaning equipment, film developing, printing, scanning and more from them. I do my due diligence as far as researching the best price for camera supplies and equipment. Ball Photo matches, or almost matches, just about everything. When you factor in shipping costs, Ball Photo’s prices are usually better than buying online. This is true for film and paper in particular. I also want to mention that I brought in a Mamiya 645 film camera which was damaged. They repaired it in expert fashion in only a few weeks. Who repairs Mamiya film cameras anymore? It is unbelievable that Asheville has a camera store which is truly a one-stop shop. I cannot speak highly enough about Ball Photo. They will have my business indefinitely.

Good camera stores are getting hard to find, so don't miss this one. I vacation in the Asheville area every few years, and always make it a point to stop in. I'll be there next month and am really excited to find that they're still in business. They have all the stuff you would expect to find, and a great selection of used bodies, lenses, and accessories that's always very interesting. I always leave with something I didn't expect to purchase. If you're interested in photography, make the time to stop at Ball Photo.

This place is amazing. Don't let any of these negative comments turn you away from this place. I picked up a "like new" k-mount 28-105mm 2.8 for just a mere $60. They have a wide selection of used gear and rare vintage lenses for film cameras. This place is awesome if you actively shoot film, and it still carries some accessories for more modern digital cameras. I thoroughly enjoyed walking along the tables and shelves full of vintage lenses, accessories, and cameras. The customer service was very helpful and quick to help. The older gentleman in the store was especially helpful to me in finding what I was looking for. The best part was being able to pick up any lens from the table and mount it on a camera in-store and look through the viewfinder to see how well it worked. I am 15 years old, and the man in the store seemed to like my interest in analogue photography so much he gave me a $10 off my purchase. Great service combined with great prices is something amazing that you just can't find in any other camera store these days. Thankyou so much Ball Photo!

I love going to Ball camera store. They have both new and used camera equipment, and they are very helpful and knowledgeable. I always lean something and I love looking at all of the older camera's they have. As far as I know it is the only real camera store in Western Carolina so even though it is a drive for me, I would still go there if I needed help or wanted to buy local. I needed a wide angle lens last year and they were very helpful in assisting me.
