Midtown Reader & the Piebrary

This was absolutely amazing. I stopped in to look around and was so glad I did. They had books, but other cool things too. The store had 2 floors (with books and such on both of them). There is some seating upstairs (along with an elevator for those who might need it) and the Piebrary which is a coffee shop that sells some pure to go along with it. The staff was super nice and I am planning on going back again.

The One Bookstore to rule all bookstores in Tallahassee! My favorite thing to do is grab a new book and go upstairs for a latte and a comfy sunlit chair to read. They hold book clubs on Sunday at 3 (there are four diff ones with four diff genres) and the pie is always delicious. I do wish they had more cushioned chairs though

Amazing Book store with a great variety of books, on the second floor it has the best coffee/ pies / wine & Beer PIEbrary!! Highly highly recommend it!!

I can't say enough good things about Midtown Reader. Everyone on staff is extremely friendly and always very helpful. The owners have done a fantastic job at not only creating a great bookstore, but also a beautiful, comfortable space to hang out in (including the cafe/coffee shop upstairs)! Visiting here is always a unique experience. If your a reader, or even if your not, I highly recommend popping in here and taking a look around!

I love coming here because they allow dogs. They have events happening on their website and they have book clubs listed inside. The atmosphere is quiet and coffee is upstairs (also dog friendly).

Parking: on the side of the building between them and waterworks. You can access it off thomasville road.

Midtown Reader is an incredible treasure to have in Tallahassee. Sally Bradshaw works to bring top authors to Tallahassee as well as feature our many talented local authors. It is also the gest place to purchase Jeff VanderMeer books. He is so creative and thoughtful in inscribing them!

A great place to spend quality time with your kids. Good bookstores are hard to find and this one is a keeper. Each family member got a great book, we played games, met a awesome dog named
Charlie ( yes, dog friendly) and ate cupcakes. A perfect afternoon.

Wide selection of books. Helpful staff. If you want a book that is out of stock, it will take 5 days. Ended up getting a book by Michael Pollan

It's a relatively constant sentiment of mine to be reluctant in writing reviews, however, this little book store changed that. Their staff is kind, helpful, and overall splendid to be around--obviously--moving on. I recently reached out to them in search of a Carl Sagan book. They didn't have it in stock, so they researched the darn thing and found me the most beautiful 1st edition hardcover copy (in only a few days)! I was shocked they didn't have it, since their current selection is actually perfect, and even more shocked that they went though so much effort to get me this lovely book. Gang, even if you want to order a book online, they can do it for you--its both more exciting, and better for local business. Its a nice place with nice people who do nice things. I love all book stores equally, but Midtown Reader has proved there's no need to go anywhere else.

From the delightful Kidtown area and events for young readers to the wide variety of carefully curated books for adults and events that feature both visiting and local authors, there is something for everyone to enjoy. Upstairs, The Piebrary offers delicious sweet treats and beverages. Midtown Reader is a community gem.

LOVE this little bookstore and the adorable piebrary 🥧! Stopped in for the first time today and will definitely be going back soon. Wonderful place and very friendly people!! It felt like stepping into a Hallmark movie😀

It's wonderful to see an indie bookstore thriving in Tallahassee. This is an awesome shop with knowledgeable, helpful staff. Well worth the visit, and there's a great coffee shop upstairs! People complaining about prices must not spend much time in bookstores, because FYI, book prices are set by the publishers, not by the store.

I had the most lovely experience yesterday. I found lots of books that I would have enjoyed. There is great variety for adults, teens, and kids. I picked out five. The lady behind the register and I had a hilarious conversation about dog hair, and then when she found out I was from out of town, she put a store bookmark in every book I purchased "to make sure" I came back and didn't forget them. She even gave me a cloth tote to carry out my books. The lady didn't know that I had just had to put down my 14-year-old cat an hour earlier and stopped at a bookstore to lift my spirits, so her genuine kindness was incredibly appreciated, thank you so much! I definitely will not forget!!

Our preschool friends met up for story time on Saturday morning and it was so much fun!

Wonderful little bookshop locally owned and packed with excellent books. The relatively small space limits the selection, but the staff has always been wonderful and very helpful when ordering titles. All my orders have come in very quickly and I get a phone call or email the same day it arrives.
