I love the Dirt Locker System, I put them in all by myself and had them filled in with soil by a company who could blow the soil in. It's been so handy to stop all the erosion on my hill and I'm doing a big planting this spring. The best part is in a rainy season they won't decompose like wood, I didn't have to pay for a massive concrete install, and as my plants and soil fill in they are a gorgeous part of my backyard now. I'm going to keep expanding them but it was a low cost option and great that I could build them in as I needed them. Can't wait to see over the years how it looks as native trees, shrubs, plants, and grasses grow in. If I can do it with little knowledge, you can too!

I had a large hillside that was pretty much unusable, it was steep enough that I would fall down it anytime I tried to work it. Someone suggested Dirt Lockers to me when I was asking for any sort of terracing system that may work. Boy, am I happy they did! I am SO pleased with how this turned out. I called Dirt Lockers and they recommended a local installer (Kathy's Landscaping). This project took about a week from prep to final plant, the dirt lockers themselves were installed in about a day and a half. We used DG in a few of them to create steps so I could walk up and down the hill. They've been installed for about 5 months now and I'm just so pleased. If you are debating, don't - it's such an easy way to make a hillside usable. I am looking forward to planting the hill out over the next year. 10/10 recommend!!

It took only a minute or two to figure out the install as could be expected with any new product. They are strong and durable. When it comes to terrain , slopes and inclines have many difficult issues and these Dirt Lockers solve and adapt to those very issues. Once set in place they are stable enough to walk on and create steps and creative planters.

The Dirt Locker system is absolutely awesome. I had a terrible erosion problem on the slope of my Florida yard. The system was easy to install and the instructional videos were very helpful. I researched the options for solutions to my problem and this was the best and most economical solution. This solution allowed me to plant my slope with no concerns about losing more soil or the plants. It turned out wonderful and I have vastly increased my plant collection!

Loving my dirtlockers. Almost nothing grows in my suger sand Florida "soil", it doesn't hold water. I installed the dirt lockers in January with good soil and added plants in February and early March (the pics go thru April). I am bowled over with the results! With a 6" rain deficit the plants exploded. I am a non-athletic senior female, I liked dirtlockers because I could do it all myself. The keys were getting the half yard of dirt in bags and breaking the project into manageable chucks over a number of weekends.

My purpose for the dirt lockers was probably a little bit different than what most people use them for. What I wanted to do, was create some staggered steps on a slope for a safer transition down to my container garden. Most folks use these for plants, but when I saw the video about making a step, I decided that's what I wanted to build. ....and it worked out fabulously! My project was a huge success for such a reasonable investment! Thank you Dirtlocker! Here are some before and after shots.

The soil erosion on my property was getting steeper and very close to my house. I was looking for some solutions online and found Dirtlocker. At first I was curious to see if it would hold the soil on my steep hill but the clever design distributes the weight in a way that holds very firmly and the more it rains and settles in the soil the stronger it gets. Before I had a hard time planting anything because of the erosion, now the moisture stays in place allowing the plant to grow and making the soil even stronger. I’m doing it in sections and it’s a work in progress but I’m having so many ideas on a part of my property that was once struggling.

We considered a lot of possibilities for our steep, unmanageable, front hillside. The Dirt Lockers were affordable, user friendly, and have created a beautiful display for the whole neighborhood to enjoy!

We recently installed Dirt Lockers on a sloped area near our home.
My husband and I are in our mid 70's and were happy to have a project that we were able to install ourselves and have the final product of our efforts look great. The support that we received from Dirt Lockers was very helpful. We emailed our questions as they arose and they responded quickly with suggestions that worked for us. We would highly recommend this company

I live on a very steep hill and erosion is a problem. The dirt lockers helped keeping my bushes and soil from being washed away during a heavy rain. The hill in some areas has a 2’9”drop in a 4’ span. And there is even an area where the drop is almost vertical. Dirt lockers really helped!

I have installed 40 Dirt Lockers thus far, dramatically enhancing how we interact with our landscape. They've added enormous value to our home by providing space to grow fresh herbs, berries, and figs on land previously thought to be unusable. They are superb for water retention, erosion prevention, and retaining warmth for plants. Once installed, a staggered column can be used as stairs, making it easier to traverse a hillside.

This was an amazing project for me during the summer of 2022. The dirtlockers are sturdy, relatively easy to install and with a little planning you can have a beautiful garden in no time. Below I describe my experience. “I did it all myself. It started as a simple Google search and I found the video installs for Dirtlocker. Additionally, I reached out to customers of yours that have installed it to gain their perspective post install. I then measured out my incline area drew a design template in PowerPoint and followed other the templates and video tutorials; in addition to reaching out to you ( several times :) for insights. Once the materials arrived I got to work. I worked alone and one of the most challenging parts was lifting the preassemble dirtlockers from the flat ground up the top of the incline. Let’s just say the time invested at the gym paid dividends during that lift :). The one other challenge was when I hammered into a stone or large rock when installing the 24inch j-hooks. That barrier occurred 2-4 times and at one point I found a local metal worker who cut a few j-hooks for me to 12 Inches in length, which was the deepest I could go in at these 2-3 areas. But in those cases I also doubled up on the number of j-hooks to super secure the dirt lockers. Once the dirtlockers where in place I reviewed the design layout I drew in PowerPoint and shared with you, headed to Homedepot to purchase bags of marble chip rocks for the two paths that are in the design and installed. These allow me to go up and down without an issue to water and do general maintenance of the plants and area. After that it was matter of a visits to the nursery’s at Pike, HomeDepot and ServeScape ( they have a large selection of plants and deliver to my home) to pick plants with a blend of sun loving and shade loving, and soil. The rest is care and some Corona’s to enjoy the view :).”

Excellent product! I have been so satisfied with the results. The installation was intuitive, but that said I did study the videos and website information quite well before I did it. Pretty much did the whole thing by myself, with 25 or so large dirt lockers. Do the math- this is a great option.

Versatile and sturdy everything needed in landscape material. 100+ lockers installed and the almost finished project receives daily compliments from passers by. Will be getting more very soon.

I have been using them for single tree planting on a hillside, so in the circle layout. Tremendous product, i could not have done what we did without them.
