Laan-Xang Cafe

We stopped in for a quick snack, and we’ll DEFINITELY be back! The staff were super friendly and willing to accommodate a vegetarian/vegan diet. We tried the larb with tofu and no fish sauce, the summer roll, and a Thai sweet tea with coconut milk. I’m very excited for our next trip to Belfast so I can try more!

I died and went to heaven with every bite of the Sai Ghock sausage. Friendly staff with a nice outdoor deck looking out over the marina and Main Street. This is definitely going to be a staple visit whenever I'm in the area!

Great food, very fresh ingredients! We got takeout for Chicken Raam and shrimp and cashew. Both were very hearty helpings and very fresh vegetables. The shrimp meal was really for two. Ranked a little lower on atmosphere merely because it was takeout only, although enjoyed the deck view of Belfast harbor while waiting.

I've had a lot of bad Thai food in Maine. I am glad we passed through Belfast. This place is good and the owners are super friendly. Would recommend Lao fish pocket.

The food was beyond good. Very fresh, well seasoned. We will be back.
The indoor space is quite small. but there is outdoor seating in the warm months.

Consistently delicious food! Friendly owners and lovely deck looking out onto Belfast Bay! Always busy, best to call ahead for take out or take your chances to sit outside on a nice summer evening. The food as delightful and the service is good.

I've never had a bad meal from here. Pad Thai xxx spicy is my favorite. The curry fried rice is also fantastic (see the photo). Oh and the iced coffee is a must try if you like really strong coffee. The owners are nice hardworking people.

Great food of different cuisines...Laotian, Thai, Vietnamese. Fresh ingredients, good service, and nice view from the patio.

Authentic Thai menu. Great choices for all appetites. Don't ask for a burger or fries. Everything made fresh. Try Fried Banana pockets for dessert.

Always the best freshest thai food around! Service is great and a friendly atmosphere! You can't go wrong eat in or take out.

The food was awesome. The service was awesome. They were incredibly busy but all smiles. Rare to see. I highly recommend.

The few times i’ve been there have always been 5 star. From take out ,to dinning on their scenic deck ,I’ve always felt like family there. Seems to be a well managed place where everyone is happy and working efficiently. A special shout out to Jill for her wonderful energy and attention to detail.

We are foodies, and spend our timeshare vacation on MDI, every year. This restauant has permanently changed our dining plans, even though its 120 miles R/T. We even changed our vacation plans, so we could eat there a second time. It was worth it. The drunken noodles were my choice, while my wife chose Pad Thai. Head and shoulders better than any Asian dish, we've had anywhere, any state. It would be a crime not to mention this lovely family, who are so welcoming and friendly. The daughter was our server, and she is so pleasant, and so helpful, I am looking forward to her service again. She suggested next time, I try the sausage, that she helps make. Needless to say, Laan-Xang, is in our dining plans, and we may stop by on the way in, and on the way out, plus a trip in the middle. We love supporting this restaurant, and the family too. Enjoy!

Had a fantastic lunch on their patio. Started with the summer rolls and they were fresh and crisp. For entrees we had the Asian salad and pad kee mao both delicious. They were busy but still friendly. Highly recommended.

I found the food delicious. The portions were just the right size and there was easy parking. Excellent service. Ate outside under an umbrella. Many people but no sense of crowding. Amazing find anywhere, and totally unexpected in Lobsterland!!!

My extended family and I tried a bunch of dishes for takeout while we were in town on vacation. The food was AMAZING. I think the Lao Fish Pocket was the crowd favorite.

Love this Cafe! I go here often because the food is sooo good!! :) Great for take out too for when your on the go. Just give them a call, pick up and your on your way!

The food at this place is to die for. Absolutely on point. The sai ghock and larb were perfect, and the sausage was the tastiest I might've ever had. The staff was also very pleasant and the owner told us about how her mother flies in from Laos and handmakes the sausage!

The nicest family you could meet in the world. The food is incredible no matter what you get and the experience is so warm and friendly. If you are anywhere near Belfast you have to stop in and check these folks out!
