Wow, what a great place. The hours are a bit weird here. They had signs on the front door that really turned me off (something about limited help) but I decided to give it a try anyway and am glad I did. See the photos - nice salad with split pea & ham soup with bread and then meatloaf, green beans and mashed potatoes. I remember asking for the beans to be cooked well as most places serve beans too raw (in my opinion) and they actually cooked them a bit longer for me! Great service and super food. Highly recommend you try this place.

After my meal I did ask about the signs and they said that they get busy on the weekends so if you think they might be busy, call ahead and see what they say.

We were staying in Bucksport and just happened to give this place a try. Service, food and atmosphere was excellent. We ate there a second time during the week we were there. It was just as good if not better.

Cannot say enough great things about this little spot. The night we went they were very short staffed, but everyone was hustling and trying their best to provide the best possible experience to their clientele. And they did. The waitress was sweet as can be, the manager was candid about the wait but working diligently, handling many roles. Give everyone a raise. 5 stars ten times over.

Local reviewer - I drive by MacLeod's every week. I've eaten there maybe 5-6 times and have never been disappointed.
Solid menu choices, typically leaning towards seafood but also sprinkled with other faves...French onion soup, Mac-and- Cheese, steaks, ribs, etc.
Attentive service, fully stocked bar, small town vibe.

Great place in the quaint little town of Bucksport. We ate here 2 of the 3 nights we were in town. We would have dined there all 3 nights but they were closed Sunday. All the food we had was excellent as was the presentation. The sweet and sour collard greens are to die for! The service was friendly and top notch. The atmosphere was comfortable and the location was perfect since we were staying across the street at the Fort Knox Park Inn. Due to being short staffed, reservations are required. This restaurant is a must if you're staying in the area or just passing through.

The fish tacos are my absolute favorite. My husband goes just for the French onion soup and my kiddo loves the ribs. All of us enjoy their various specials they serve throughout the year. It’s our go to celebration restaurant. Thanks MacLeods for being there to help us make family memories.

We just left after having our anniversary dinner here and I honestly cannot think of anything remotely negative to say. The staff that we interacted with were all friendly and informative and quick! Food and drinks came out in a timely fashion, tasted great, and were definitely worth the prices (included in pictures)! Highly recommend!

And to the lady who recommended for me to try the Manhattan, thank you! It was fantastic and I hope you see this so you know I enjoyed it!

Best scallops we’ve had in Maine. Tender, buttery, perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection.
The seafood chowder was light, not thickened to a paste, with abundant fish and not overwhelmed by potatoes. It could have used a bit more salt but that was easily remedied.
Service was exceptional, friendly and efficient.
One of the most pleasant experiences we’ve had eating in Bucksport!

Very fine place to eat. Enjoy the seventy music, was great. Got to see a couple in their senior years for a first date I believe. My feelings might not work out. But I hope it will. Cherish a very good dinner with the wife. Starting a new adventure, and this meal was a great start. Sorry got a picture of dessert only. Meatloaf was great.

Stopped here after reading all the great reviews on our way to Acadia and we were so happy we did! The basil stuffed riccota ravioli special was so delicious we all would have ordered it! The french onion soup was one of the best I have ever eaten. The meat on the ribs was so tender and the meatloaf was delicious, just a tad sweet for our liking. The coconut cream pie was so creamy 👌🏾👌🏾👌🏾 Service was wonderful as well. Thank you for a memorable meal in Maine.

This is great without a doubt! I normally don’t write a review right after dining. But this one is worthy. Plus, the staff is super friendly and courteous.

We had not made reservations (recommended to do so), but only waited approx. 20 minutes to get a table. The service was first class. From the owner on down, extremely friendly. Great atmosphere. I had the meatloaf dinner, it was phenomenal. Likely the best meatloaf I've had. My wife had the Mac and cheese, it was pretty good! Only complaint would be the margarita (fantastic) was $11 for not a very large margarita. Would've liked to receive a little more for the price. Worth a visit as you're in town or passing through!

Delicious and great service! We’ve enjoyed eating here immensely. The salmon is delicious any way you order it. Shrimp cocktail are done just right. Always delicious specials and all desserts are made in house. The coconut cream pie is delicious. Service is great! Just call ahead as they fill up quickly.

Burger I had was good, Butternut Squash Ravioli with brown butter sauce my partner had (and I tried) was fabulous. I would order this if I go again. Shrimp is fresh. Dessert: chocolate cake with peanut butter frosting and caramel sauce was delicious. Waitress was kind and attentive. I would classify this more as pub food than a seafood restaurant.

Did not disappoint once again!❤ Have been going to MacLeod's for a number of years now. We come to Maine for a week in the summer. We make a point to go for dinner there each year because it's so enjoyable. Food is wonderful and so fresh! Freshly made bread and salad dressings-we had the Caesar salad. You could tell the dressing was made from scratch. None of that store bought stuff. We had NY steak- tender and actually taste like beef! Delicious!😋 Baked potato and fresh green beans. ...one of the specials was asiago and spinach stuffed chicken! Sounded really good, but stuck with the steak. Emma was our server. Very sweet and attentive. Thank you Emma!

We had the opportunity to dine at MacLeod's after finding out that our original choice closed at 2. Well, lucky us. The staff was friendly and accommodating, the food was tasty and the price we paid was less than we normally spend. We each had a drink, shared the ribs and chicken nachos and split a strawberry-peach cobbler with both vanilla ice cream and whipped cream on it! My only complaint which has NOTHING to do with them is that I left our take out box in the saddlebag of the bike overnight. BOO!

The customer service is simply fantastic. The staff make you feel at home. The food is good. The mac and cheese was tasty as was the ravioli. The chocolate peanut butter cake is amazing (and not too sweet)! I'd highly recommend this family-owned restaurant to anyone looking for a delicious hot meal served with a smile.

An unexpected gem!!! In business since 1980 and much (all?) of their fare is homemade. Chicken St. Vincent (lightly breaded, fried to perfection then under the broiler to melt the cheese and crab meat topping it, served with a yummy lobster sauce spooned over it) was out of this world. Sweet and sour collards were unusual and scrumptious. Erin was a very attentive waitress and quite eager to keep glasses full, plates cleared off, etc. MAN, would we do this place again!!!
