I took the local Boy Scouts Troop on a weekend campout here. We have been to Nehalem Bay many times, but this time was amazing! Weather was phenomenal, so we hiked Neahkahnie Mountain Trail. The hike is more challenging than the reviews say. A lot of incline, only one bench to rest on. Over 8 miles for the complete out and back. It was a long day on the trail, but the view was spectacular. On a clear day, it's one of the prettiest views in Oregon.

Stunning campsite. The beach is incredible. The spots are a bit small, but grassy and include water and electricity. They also had warm showers which was a treat.

Gorgeous. Beautiful campground, spacious sites and clean bathrooms. Yurts are tidy and clean as well. Beach isn't far from the sites.

Spaces are close set but didn't feel cramped. Great beach access, reasonably close to town and shopping and wonderful camp host.

This is what a getaway is all about.

Came here for a week with my family, and had a great time. Plenty of space, plenty of sites, and extremely close to town if you need anything. The beach is very clean, and the trails are well marked. The horse camp is smaller, but seems to have everything needed to have a nice horse camping experience. Very dog friendly, and the restrooms are very clean and nice. Overall, they do a great job here, and I have nothing bad to say.

This is one of our favorite places to stay. It is always clean, you can walk onto the beach, they have fire wood to buy as you check in and the little town of manzanita is walking distance. Highly recommend!

Beautiful weather and great beach access at this very nice state park. We were in the non reservable loop D and had very few neighbors. Very quiet!

When an absolutely wonderful place to go, I have my state park pass for day use and come here often. I like this state park because they have amazing camping. They have equestrian camping. And they have yurts. You can drive in and see lots of elk. They have a great boat launch. Plenty of parking and restrooms. What a beautiful site it is I happen to live across the bay in the town called Wheeler which is very beautiful to see from the state park, there’s lots of walking trails and beachfront. Breathtaking.

The BEST place that we stayed during our RV road trip! I wish we stayed the entire week, but only did 2 nights. Such a fantastic area to be in! The RV site was beautiful and spacious, a short walk to the beach access, there's a playground for the kiddos, we saw so many deer... Just a wonderful experience. We will DEFINITELY be back for a longer vacation!

Great state park! The winds are strong and cold on the beach but the sand dunes block it from the campground. Be sure to use the sewer dump at the registration area before going to your site because the sites only have water and electric. There’s showers, bathrooms, and a playground. Our kids loved running down the dunes and riding their bikes on the trails- they didn’t want to leave! We even had a nice tote on the beach one night. It was cheap too at $36 a night!

Chillaxin' Vibes at Nehalem Bay SP----------that's what it's all about.
Great vibes in an expansive , well maintained , and popular SP. Located a couple of miles west of HWY 101, this park is easy to access but far enough away from a major highway to feel secluded.
This park seems to have it all.
Great facilities that are decently maintained--restrooms, showers, firewood availability, dedicated campsites , hiking trails, biking trails , dump pots , access to the river AND a longgggg beach.
Reservations required summertime and definitely recommended other times as well.
Great for kids.
Friendly campers at neighboring campsites. Very much a family type atmosphere here at Nehalem Bay SP.
All manner of campsite tents, campers, 5th wheels , yurts , teepees and motor coaches.
Inexpensive.
An easy bike ride or a flat , non- strenuous, walk into nearby Manzanita , give you access to a limited number of restaurants and small , well- stocked grocery stores .
Final Take----Recommended for a relaxing time for the whole family.

The park officials really make you feel welcome and take time to speak to you. They also go out of their way to help you. I had this several times with various park officials. Mathew should also be mentioned for explaining the Oregon state park set up to me which was very helpful as a foreigner.

Beautiful campground just south of Manzanita. Easy access to the beach from campsite. Clean washrooms and showers… and free hot showers with good water pressure! It also has great connectivity which makes it a good spot for those who can telecommute, or work from van in our case. There is a 2-mile loop trail easily accessible from the campground.

We didn’t check out the jetty trail at the south end of the park because both times we visited were during Western Snowy Plover nesting season and dogs are not allowed on that section of the beach during that time of the year. But there is more than enough dogs-allowed beach area that we didn’t feel that we missed out on anything.

We had an unpleasant experience with an unwelcoming camp host the second time we visited. But she was most likely an aberration and not the norm for the Oregon State Park System.

This park is a few miles off Hwy 101 with good signage pointing the way. The campground is on level ground with well designed sites easy to back into. There is a long, paved biking/hiking trail through the forest beside the campground. There is a horse rentals and horse trails available. The boat launch is on a river that flows into the bay. There is an interpretive program and a nice playground for children. The campground has small trees for shade but no privacy, with level sites that are easy to back into. The trail to the beach is soft sand over a large sand dune which is a can be difficult to climb. All the sites have power and water which is a nice bonus for tent campers. I did not hike to the beach at this campground. Showers were clean, free, and hot. Lots of camp hosts. Clean, well maintained park. Good vacation campground.

Probably one of our favorite places to stay and RV. Most of the sites we saw had plenty of room between each other. Lies of trees to hang a hammock. Campfire rings we're in really good shape. Lots of sites also had a picnic table. It's not close to the beach, but a short 10 min hike through sand dunes and you're at the waves. Was really windy the evening we were there.

We were on a roadtrip and booked 2 nights here. We LOOOVED it!! Kiddos are still raving about it!! The beach is literally a 5-10 min walk, sites were spacious, have water and electricity, and I would totally come again. Bathrooms were nice, separate doors for toilets and showers area. We used showers and they were great! You can use them as long as you want and have great pressure and hot water! You can also purchase firewood for $5 at gate. Playground right near our site as well and we saw deer. Like I said, we LOOOOVED it!!
