Rockaway Beach City Center & Park

100% recommend, an excellent beach experience. Fantastic sunset! Restrooms. Ample parking. Benches. Warm sand. The friendliest squirrels I've ever seen. Home- style relaxing little town atmosphere. Just a beautiful place all the way around.

Took the Garibaldi Oregon Coast Scenic Railroad 30 minute little train ride trip to Rockaway Beach OR, got off the train for 30 minutes, grabbed a snack and drink before getting back on the train, and then took a 30 minute train ride back to Garibaldi back to my car, then headed to the Tillamook Creamery 10 minutes south from the scenic railroad. Also you purchase the tickets from the last train car and they do a 10% military discount. Plus they have a handicap lift at the Garibaldi station, so people with walkers and wheelchairs can board the train. However, those handicap people won't be able to get off the train at the Rockaway Beach location because they don't have a handicap lift device at that location, so those people have to stay on the train. Also, to get the handicap people on the train your going to need to arrive 30 minutes prior to departure, so the train conductor have time to get them aboard!

Really cool beach to stay for a while. It is very clean and easy to access. Make sure you bring a cooler with plenty of water and snacks as the closest store/restaurant charges $4 for a small bottle of water.

Great spot for sandy beach, decent food options and clean bathroom. When the tide is out, there's a small spot to do skim boarding as well. Nice train tour option locally that goes through as well. Not overly busy in mid July when weather could be hotter, but was still very pleasant

Cool place didn't stay long just passed through on our way to Tillamook.

This is my 100% favorite beach within reasonable day driving distance from the Metro. Hot tip: bring peanuts for the chipmunks- you will not regret it 😉

Rockaway Beach is a very popular place to spend the week or just one day. There are numerous places to rent that will fit just about any size family and plenty of places to eat at. There are numerous train tours at different times of the day, which makes it easy to fit into just about any schedule. And of course the beach is easy to enjoy at any time. On one of the days, a fun trip for the kids, of any age, that is not too far away, is the Tillamook cheese and ice cream factory

Wonderful small town!

This beach seems to be the place to go. We stopped by to enjoy our fresh food from Pronto Pup, with a car picnic and a beautiful view of the ocean. The people watching was entertaining as well.

Neat little place to visit and the ocean! The ground are very friendly & really want your food! They will come right up to you!

I love the view from the the wayside! It is my favorite place to sit with a hot coffee, something to munch on and a good book to listen to, all the while looking at the beautiful Pacific ocean! The ocean smell, the sounds of waves and seagulls! And if the Sun is out, sit on the bench and soak up the rays!

This town is perfect for a quiet getaway...things are slowing down now because of the fall season but it has some great gems...restaurants...bakery..
.fresh seafood...lodging...the local town folks are extremely kind and courteous. If you are a writer, painter...or just want a really reasonable getaway for you and the kids...then awesome. Due to the recession and its a town by the coast...eating out was somewhere around
$$-$$$ I'll be coming back here again. I just really enjoy its hideaway funky vibe.

Wonderful time at the Christmas Tree lighting tonight. Well put together and planned. Santa arrived in style on the candy cane express Wich rolled into town with every car lighted and plenty of elves! He of course was a big hit ! It's wonderful to be a part of Rockaway.

Great little place to get on the beach. Right in the center of town. A great assortment of nice benches. Easy access to beach. Trash cans for you and your dog!
