Old Oregon Smokehouse

I love fresh seafood and I love to eat from the locals. When we walked in they immediately gave us a sample of the clam chowder. This place was recommended by the locals. I would grade their clam chowder as an A+, which is hard to find. We ordered the halibut burger and it was off the hook, pun intended. The halibut was juicy and smothered in their delicious tartar sauce and the bun was soft. Their coleslaw hit another record, it too was amazing! Be sure to sit outside and enjoy the salty air. This is our family favorite every time we go to the coast. Incredible fresh seafood that never disappoints. Whether you like the fried fish and chips like me or you want that awesome clam chowder, there is something for everyone. Delicious food and an amazing selection of hot sauces for sale as well.

Consistently good, and a nice patio in the summer.

We stopped because a different seafood restores closed. We wanted a restaurant atmosphere. What Old Oregon Smokehouse doesn’t have as atmosphere the make up 10x is customer service, quality and delicious food! I had the bread bowl clam. Chowder and my husband had cod and chips. He loved the homemade Tatar sauce and coleslaw! Very kind young man behind the counter. I could tell he took pride in his work. It will become a regular stop when we go to that part of the coast! Get the chowder!!

We had the clam chowder and salmon fish and chips. Very tasty! Not a lot of drink options, just soda and bottled water.

I’m met the Cook here. His name is Jones. Easy to talk to. The food is cooked fresh right in front of you practically. The cold counter was full of local fresh shellfish, Cod, salmon and other yummy stuff from the ocean. It’s right here west of the Tillamook creamery. You can’t miss it. Come give them a try (:

Must Go this restaurant.! Everyone has to eat outside. But best seafoods restaurants in this small town. Crab melt is best dish for me. Of course clam chowder , fish and chips are amazing but I love Crab melt is the best. Crab melt is $28.00 fries are $5.00 beverages(soda) $2.50 each. Fresh seafood is expensive and everyday change the price little bit. Sometimes sold out really fast and quickly. But if you were there right on time. You fell in love with crab melt.!!

Customer service! I forgot my purse at the restaurant and didn’t realize until we were 2 hours away. Not only did the staff keep my purse safe but they sent us home with some of their delicious chowder for our long drive home. Also the food (fish and chips) we had eaten at lunch was wonderful! I am so grateful for good people! ❤

This is the place to go to for fish and chips, the popcorn shrimp is so good, the grilled cheese, oysters, the prawns are my personal favorite. They have a large selection of hot salsas on the wall and they also offer fresh seafood to go. It’s a good deal for the price. If you eat across the street you get half the food for your money. They have a few tables outside and they let you eat out or take the food to go. Tartar sauce is my favorite. Stop here first and then go across the street for dessert.

Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. The sample of the clam chowder right when we walked in is definitely going to bring me back again. The popcorn shrimp and chips came out very fast and were delicious. The spread of fresh seafood is incredible as well. The owner was in while we were eating and he was very active and involved from what we saw. I absolutely recommend stopping here.

A hole in the wall kind of place. Nothing fancy, but you know by smell alone the fish is good. As of June 2021, all seating is outside with spacing in effect, and all orders are packed to go. We arrived soon after they opened at noon and there was a line to order and most tables were full. We were lucky to score seats! We had about a 15 minute wait. Everything came out hot and delicious. I think the worst I can say is they forgot to include a spoon for my chowder, but that was an easy fix. My bread bowl was carved out and toasted, and I poured in my chowder. Their chowder reputation is fully deserved. I haven’t had the like in years, and I could have cried in happiness. My husband loved his cod and chips, and my son enjoyed fries of his own. It was a breezy, sunny day to enjoy good food in good company, watching the bustle at the creamery across the way.

Cute place easy to miss across from Tillamook Creamery. Great food and good prices. Clam chowder, Lobster melt and crab cakes all great.

Food was amazing! Fresh cod and chips. Just the right amount of batter to enhance the fish. Breaded right before they fry it. Would have personally preferred hand cut chips vs crinkle frys but everything else is perfect. Clam chowder was amazing! Perfectly cooked clams and potatos, not too starchy and a nice briny / creamy balance. It's best right when you get it but can be reheated and almost as good the next day! Expect a short 10 to 15 minut wait if you come right at dinner rush. everything is cooked to order in their compact kitchen area directly behind the fish counter full of very fresh fish. They also have a good selection of hot sauces for sale. Also for added bang for your buck its right across from the cheese factory so it's an easy 2 for one stop! Pro tip dump some clam chowder over fried cheese curds (from across the street) and French fries for amazing costal poutine!

It is a regular stop every time we go to Seaside on the way back home to Damascus. All hard-working people and the clam chowder is sooo creamy. Fish and chips are delicious also

Great prawns, fries, clam chowder and service. The service was very quick and friendly and the food was served in huge helpings and was delicious.

You might travel thousands of miles to find chowder only half as good as this place. I’m from east coast and have spent my life eating clam chowder. This place tops the list. Are others as good? Yes. Is anywhere better? No. Two words: crab cakes. I don’t know what the super secret topping is but it’s amazing. Prawns. Oh my goodness. Yes. As a Utah person, I’m a pro at fry sauce, the home of fry sauce. They have good fry sauce. Did I mention the chowder? Because it’s good. Folks that run the place are nice and will help you decide what to get. In fact they will trick you into chowder by giving you the first little bit for free. That’s how they get you! Because once you try it, you are going to have to have more. Lots more. You’ll think about it while you sleep. It’s truly a work of art.

Really good Mom and Pop seafood joint. My Oysters were great! The cashier even went out of her way to get me the condiments I asked for, including horseradish. My friend's cod was wonderful and the chowder was great. I wish they sold beer. Man o man this joint rocks!

Got the crab melt. It was very good, really buttery, lots of cheese. The fries were very good. Reasonably priced. Nice worker too. Multiple tables to eat outside only. The only downside is the town smells so bad! It smelled like a horse/pig farm and not in a good way.

So good! We had the crab melt, which was piled high with delicious crab, as well as the clam chowder. The employees were great, too. We will definitely be back.

Let me tell about this place. I asked the local people who live in Tillamook where are some of the best places to eat in town and one of their favorites and top ideas was this place. Well they weren’t lying. This place sure knows how to serve up great sea food. Fish n chips, with 3 kinds of fish. Prawns and chips oysters, oyster shooters Crab shrimp clam chowder even fresh fish to take home and cook your self. We come to Oregon once or twice a year and we love to stop at this place. Don’t be fooled if this place doesn’t look the best. They more than make up for it with their cooking.
