I can’t recommend this place more! Every single item we ordered was delicious! The music and the decor created such a nice ambience. Our server, Sydney, was so sweet. We came here for my moms birthday and it did not disappoint! We all had a great time and loved the food! I can’t wait to come back!

I'd been meaning to try this place for some time. It wasn't busy on a rainy Wednesday in May around 7pm, but I can see this place getting a lot of business when tourist season picks up. We were warmly greeted by the owner when we walked in, and he did a wonderful job making sure everything was to our liking. We ordered bastilla, Brussels sprouts, chicken fassi, couscous royale with chicken, and mango mousse cake. They brought pistachio mousse accidentally, but gave us the mango mousse on the house. I also really enjoyed their passionfruit mojito, it wasn't too strong, and the flavors were a delightful blend. The food, the service, everything was excellent. I'll be back to try more of their menu.

We had a lovely afternoon in Salem and were looking for a nice place for dinner and the menu and atmosphere was just what we wanted. The food was delicious! I had the lentil soup Tagine Casablanca and my friend had the falafal and Couscous Fassi. We shared the Moroccan almond honey ice cream ... delectable! Above and beyond the food and ambience, our server, Zachariah, was a delight. He took excellent care of us and was a absolute sweetheart. I can't recommend Blue Fez enough ... go and enjoy!

Absolutely loved this place I got the freshly made Moroccan bread the salmon entree with rice and veggies and for desert a fresh crepe with honey and ice cream everything was just amazing. Also the morrocan mint tea is definitely something to try if you haven't. The decor they have was beautiful and the atmosphere was great! I will definitely be coming back again soon!

Delicious, Warm, Inviting

The artwork, traditional music, food, and service all come together to create a wonderful escape from the Halloween crowds outside.

The lentil soup was flavorful, the Chicken Fassi unbelievably delicious, and the fig dessert? Wow!

The had half my meal boxed to save room for dessert.

Everything was excellent. Hope to come back!

We stopped in for a late lunch over the past weekend and we’re greeted by the most super friendly staff! The made to order bread with dipping oil was so good. Cocktails were perfectly made with fresh ingredients. Our super attentive server (I think her name was Sydney?) answered questions about the menu and offered suggestions. This was one of the best meals I’ve ever had in Salem. The mosaic plate is out of this world everything was fresh and perfectly seasoned. Atmosphere is very cool and charming. Great vegetarian options! This is now one of my top Salem dining spots!

What a delightful meal! Blue Fez is charming 💙

We were greeted warmly at the entrance! It was scented by spices and cuisine as we were led to our table. Our senses were awakened. The tables were dressed with white table-cloths and cloth napkins. Very nice. Our server lit a candle on our table. The music continued to cast just the right spell on us. It was not too loud inside, and we could carry on conversation with our companions.

Dinner began by sharing the Houmus, with warmed pita triangles surrounding a dip that was smooth and mild, cucumber and radish slices garnished it for visual and textural contrast. I photographed its lovely presentation. After wiping that clean, we did not wait long to be served our individual entrees.

Portions were large and again, presented caringly. There was Tagine of Refissa Falafel (savory falafel + braised lentils on couscous), Tagine Djida (savory chicken with preserved lemons and green olives on couscous) , and Chicken Fassi, (mushrooms, carrots and apricots with a cherry sauce, a sweet and savory on rice).

Each dish had a different aromatic and flavorful combination of spices. No single spice overwhelmed: they were well-balanced layers. Nothing was bland, nothing was too salty. Everyone enjoyed their orders! I tasted each dish: impressed at the execution and marvelously different flavor profiles.

While waiting for our checque, I overheard a guest at the next table remark to her companions the meal was delicious and the best ever she had eaten in a restaurant. It was certainly delicious for us, too.

Our server Zack, could not have been more attentive, and he anticipated all our needs-- just short of cutting up the food and serving it to us! He presented a lovely reveal when he lifted the tagine lids to our steaming entrees with pleasant aromas rising from the dishes.

It was grown-up dinner service, and within the venue there is palpable atmosphere: visually inviting Morrocan decor, various sconces and hanging ceiling lights, a clear sound system playing rhythmic and thematically related music.

If we were not so full from our meals we would have ordered dessert, too, (these items are not in the online menu for takeout).

There is a small bar area at the front entrance. Blue Fez offers interesting cocktails, like a Morrocan Mule (Gin, gingerbeer, mint, fresh lime) and a Fezy Potion (Vodka, shnapps, grapefruit juice). They have a wine list and good beers if you like these to accompany your food, or if you need a place to take a date for a tipple.

Because the entrees upon being served were so entrancing, I didnt get the chance to photograph them: we started eating right away! Allow yourself to dine in and try it yourself. They do offer takeout, but the cuisine together with the venue will give you a wonderful experience. Let this place cast a spell on you, too.

Visiting Salem for a few days. Looking to try something new. We’ve never had Moroccan food. Did not disappoint. Food is fresh and flavorful. For starters, we had stuffed grape leaves - best I’ve ever had. We had the seafood paella (special) and couscous fazi for entrees. Drinks were delicious too. Pistachio cake for dessert-scrumptious. I highly recommend this place.

I love this place so much! First of all the atmosphere when you eat in is amazing, beautiful and calming. Second the food is incredible. Very well seasoned and so incredibly tasty. The wonderful man, Zach, who waited on our table was so incredibly kind and always making sure we had what we needed. I can’t say enough good things about this place and will be back many many times!

Super warm and cozy atmosphere, a great place to relax, especially on a rainy day. The Moroccan food is authentic, yummy, and filling. Sydney, the server, was such a gem and made us feel totally welcome. We were able to watch all of the people waiting in line outside in the rain for pizza. The pizza line hardly moved at all; meanwhile, we had sangria, freshly baked break, and amazing Moroccan food. Who comes to Salem and tries food they can have anywhere (pizza)?? Blue Fez was a great addition to our Salem trip.

What an incredible find at the heart of Salem. If you like Mediterranean food you must eat here. Humous (hummus) grape leaves, falafel and so much more. Lamb, chicken, beef so many choices. A must stop if you are vegetarian or vegan as they have sooooo many delicious options. Lots of gluten free as well. Great full bar. Jamal was a great server (shout out!). So friendly and helpful.

Just had one of the best meals and had to share. I went to Blue Fez in Salem right after it opened and it was really good. Haven’t been there for a few years so decided to check it out again. My husband and I went to check it out tonight and have to say it was so good. Our server Danielle was awesome. She’s very knowledgeable and super friendly and was one of those people that makes you feel like family.

She had a couple of specials, and then she mentioned a chefs tasting menu, it was $50 per person. We spent some time thinking about it and looking at the menu and decided to do the tasting menu. Definitely not disappointed! We started with lentil soup. Then a shared appetizer plate that had bread, beets, carrots, hummus, eggplant, roaster peppers, artichokes and grape leaves. Then we had falafel with hummus and harissa, couscous with vegetables, beef with figs, and some other fruits and veggies, chicken with rice and lentils. We also had a dessert that was like a bakalava with a nut mixture with honey whipped in phyllo dough with honey on a plate with chocolate drizzle and whipped cream. I cannot wait to get over being so full to go back again.

I will say that a few of the things that were served are things that I don’t normally eat but they were amazing!! Cannot say how good this was!

Forgot to take a pic of dessert!

Absolutely delicious food. I had a blast chatting with the bartender, Danielle, and got to meet the owner. It was a wonderful experience and I will have to come back. Fresh crab cakes in a light breading and the curry chicken melts in your mouth. Definitely glad i stopped in on my trip to salem.

Blue Fez makes you feel like you found a piece of Morocco in the Witch city. This restaurant has a wonderful atmosphere, both with their unique, authentic decor and beautiful music. The food is delicious, well portioned, and they can boast a great bar with good wine selections. Highly recommended.

Best lamb I've ever had. Excellent service for a rather difficult group of eaters. I ever-so-slightly dinged atmosphere only because I think there should be more lamps, it being Moroccan. I'm petty.

Stopped in for light bites and delightfully surprised at the quality. Had the lentil soup (savory and rich with a light touch), a hummus plate (really creamy and just delicious finished with parsley and horissa), and falafel (moist and spicy inside with a crackling crisp crust outside; somewhat small and molded but really good).

Atmosphere was open and decor pleasant Mediterranean vibe with quiet near Eastern fusion background music.

Definitely worth further investigation of the menu!

It’s hard to believe that we’ve lived in Salem for 9 years and just dined at Blue Fez for the first time with 4 friends. The Mozaic Plater was phenomenal, the chicken fassi and chicken curry were delicious and the cosmopolitan to start was so tasty. All the dishes were fresh and savory, the service was exceptional and atmosphere is very cool. We dine out often in Salem and this will now be one of our goto places. The owner/chef is so gracious and friendly. We highly recommend Blue Fez.
