Food 101 Bar & Bistro

I enjoyed the food and atmosphere here at Food 101. The scallops were fresh, and the pork was tasty. I especially loved the wide cariety of appetizers. If you live in Western Mass, and are looking for a nice meal, this is the place.

A really delicious meal— can’t complain at all. Everything was cooked perfectly and really tasty. The service was superb. Definitely will return next time I’m in South Hadley, such a nice dinner.

New to the area, I decided to make a reservation for my husband's birthday dinner there. The food was absolutely delicious! We can't wait to go back!

Absolutely awesome. The salmon and lobster chowder was the best I have ever had. Entrees were also excellent. Highly recommended.

Wow! What a culinary gem to be found in this sleepy little town in Western Mass. Incredible food. Fresh ingredients. 1st grade service. Definitely a 5-star dining experience. I hope we find our way to this part of Mass. again just to get a chance to sample more of Food 101.

Far and away the absolute best food and service in the valley in this price range. The beautifully trimmed beef filet melts in your mouth, perfectly seasoned, done exactly to your specifications. I've enjoyed it dozens of times and it's never varied, except pricewise, which is always comparable to other establishments. All other offerings are equally superlative, the winelist is varied and not overpriced like most, strong pour on drinks Food 101's chef is exceptionally talented, and the waitstaff are consistently well trained. Don't miss an opportunity to dine in this special place.
Update: one year later still our favorite, for perfectly executed delicious food, extremely professional and personable service. Two new apps deserve accolades - the crispy shrimp (6 jumbo) and the lobster salmon chowder.

From the moment I contacted them, they were responsive and accommodating. They even offered to refrigerate my daughters bday cake before they opened for business that day! The quality of their food is exceptional, the wait staff was wonderful,we couldn’t of been happier.

My wife and I had a super nice dinner here. My steak was perfect. Crab and lobster cakes excellent. My wife had risotto with shrimp and was very happy with her choice. Service was polite and reflection of well run fine dining.

We had my Mom's birthday party here and with a party of 12 and the experience was excellent. The service was well above expectations, our appetizers, drinks and meals were sensational....yes, for all 12 people!
We would recommend this restaurant to anyone and will be back ourselves soon!

Great atmosphere and excellent food. Staff are also very friendly and attentive. There is a distinct upscale bar area with some additional Cafe tables as well as a full restaurant space. Both are very warm and lively. One of the best restaurants in the Valley.

Fine dining the way it should be!! Great menu, fun and inspired food, great drinks... waitstaff friendly and helpful... all and all a perfect evening food place :)

Been there 3 times... All very good meals with great staff. Our server on our last visit (Hannah) had great recommendations and provided great service. Wish we lived closer. Can't wait to go back. New menu.

Had a fabulous meal! Sat outside on this gorgeous night. The server, Megen, was awesome! Great drinks. The crab and lobster cakes were delicious and very plentiful! Had the du jour entree...fabulous! It was an awesome experience! We will be back and will bring our friends and family!!

With no exaggeration Food 101 has the best food in the valley. I will share my favorite foods but that doesn’t mean anything else on the menu is less than great. Fav appetizer is their Crab & Lobster cakes. I have not found better. Entree is Pan Seared Faroe Islands Salmon with crab and corn risotto, lobster cream, and grilled asparagus. Words don’t do justice so I won’t try.

First at time here and everything was spectacular. The atmosphere, service and of course the food. Please order the Duck (medium rare) it was like butter, and the prosciutto toast. LORD knows how good and delicious that duck was. My cousin had the Salmon with the lobster risotto mmm, mmm, mmm ...AMAZING!

Absolutely LOVE this place! We usually sit at the bar and the bartenders are wonderful! Food is fantastic, have never had a bad dish here! Drinks, food, ambiance, service....all fabulous!

Favorite place of mine and my family. Best food, great Everytime and every entree. First class service and great beer selection. Been following Al for 20+ years, no reason to ever stop!

This place has some phenomenal food. Server was great. They have a ravioli appetizer that I couldn't get enough of. Good ambience.
