I felt that it was necessary for us to leave a review , because of the way this business is presented in most of the negative reviews. This was not the first time we purchased from them and every single time the experience was positive. Their grading is always correct , prices are very competitive and customer service is top notch. We are over 600 miles away and will not hesitate to order parts again Just received a $200 head light today and the item was packaged better than new one. Thanks to Lynn and the team

I had a great experience here. My mother-in-law has a late model car and needed a roof rack that wasn't installed by the dealer. These guys were one of the only ones that had it in the country. They shipped it to me quickly at a minimal cost. Communication was great. Part worked perfect. Mother-in-law thinks I'm a hero.

General Auto Recycling had the best hood for my van and at a great price. Very happy with my purchase. Friendly and easy to do business with these guys. Late model cars you can get original parts and save hundred of dollars I stop buying new tires there tires are almost new all sizes love the place environmentally perfect place I highly recommend this place.

Purchased bumper assembly recently, they were very helpful in resolving an issue with a few small factory defects on bumper. Would 100% recommend and I will continue to purchase parts from them! A+

They had the best price for the part I needed. Be prepared to pay cash only, $100 minimum on sale. Guys are knowledgeable and very organized. The yard was one of the nicer I’ve been to. Will definitely use these guys again.

I live far from the site, but I was able to get a quote and speak to Shawn through email. All his responses were fast and he was able to get me the information I was looking for! My friend came over to pick up the parts I needed, he was able to get the parts quickly, and I received an email right away telling me he was there picking up the parts. I had a great customer service experience even being all the way on Cape Cod!

Never had a problem ever with guys at General
Auto. I,ve been doing business over 10+ yrs from transmissions, Motors, and even smalls they usually always have it all. Always received quality parts at prices no one else could beat usually in a few hours. Jay and the team always go above and beyond. 99.9% of the time General Auto is my 1st call and if they don't have it they will point you in the direction if its available. 5 STAR ALL DAY 👏👍💪🧑‍💻☕🤷‍♂

So far so good... I haven't laid hands on the part yet, but the sales person I dealt with (Lynn) was exceptionally prompt and helpful (sent me photos of the part, looked at the part personally). I'm driving out there tomorrow, and will adjust this rating accordingly based on the service and the part, but for now, I'm very pleased.
A lot of people have said that they're rude, and specifically called out the 'female sales person' ... it's possible that they're just put off by what I took as a no-nonsense... sort of 'get to the point' attitude. Very common here in New England... it's not rude, it's efficient.

After going out there to get the part.... it was good. Absolutely nothing to complain about here. It's a used part, so it's not pristine, but it's very, very good, and was not misrepresented. I showed up at lunch, so I had to wait a little, but the part was handed over right when they promised. I'll use them again. The price was incredible.

I wish I could give more than this to be honest. The best yard with the best prices available and above all, SHAWN who takes care of us. Quick, efficient and beats the prices! If you give him accidentally more price, he will correct you! He is the go to man at this yard. No issues with the orders and always on time and honest (if any delay, he will inform before hand). I bought a Rubicon front axle from them and it was my first time contacting a salvage yard that was 8 hours away. I have to say it was one of the best buying experiences i have ever had -- the associate who helped me, Shawn, was very patient with me because it was first time making a purchase like this. He explained EVERYTHING that i needed to know and how i need to get it shipped for my certain situation.

I know it's hard choosing a reputable salvage yard because of those bad apples we've experienced, but i can assure you that General Auto Recycling is totally legit and is focused on helping the customer. My Rubicon front axle is now packaged up, shipped, and is on the way to my house.

I am located in Virginia and General Auto Recycling is in Rhode Island, so I put a lot of trust in them. They turned out to be great people to deal with and i will definitely be a return customer. If you can, ask for 'Shawn' -- this guy knows his stuff!

Great Customer Service. 5-Star. I needed a replacement radio for my car. One call to General Auto Recycling and they found exactly what I needed and went the extra mile and made the calls to get the code for the radio, so that it would be a smooth install for me. I am very happy with General Auto Recycling. I emailed them about a part that I needed for my car and Shawn answered right away. He was very helpful about making sure its the right part for my car. I was a bit affraid as I read all the reviwes here, but I really cannot complain. I wanted to check out the part myself so I took a trip to the yard and I was impressed how neat and organized it is. This junkyard is huge. I had to wait about 10-15 minutes until they got the part for me which was perfectly fine. My overall experience was positive and I can recommend going there.

ordered from here 3-4 times because they had the best prices. orders ranging from $50-500. never had an issue. Orders came quick to Waterford NY and were always in good condition and packaged well.

I worked with Shawn to purchase a door panel. Smooth transaction and great price on the part itself and reasonable shipping costs considering it was a bulky part to ship. I would definitely look them up again if I need anything else in the future.
