This was my favorite place to visit! It was so amazing. The staff was great and it was really educational. They had reenactments of the trials, and you got to see the actual dungeons the accused were held in and learn all about the conditions the prisoners had to survive. I highly recommend this tour!

Best historical and spooky experience I had doing all the touristy things in Salem. Highly recommend! They give a live show of what a real trial hearing looked like back then during the witch trials and then takes you downstairs under the building where they have a very eerie dungeon that would have been used for holding people during the witch trials. It is haunted down there and gave all the vibes of spirits still hanging around. Great experience and great examples of history.

The Witch Dungeon was the best of the tours we did with this company. I really enjoyed the reenactment, and our tour guide was the best. She was knowledgeable and funny. I felt like she was also super real. We also really enjoyed being able to sit for a while after all the walking.

Both historical and spooky experience. It features a small play at the beginning of the tour. Highly informative as well.

Did the combo ticket and the tour started every 30 min or so.

Absolutely Worthwhile, Historical, and Inexpensive

The Witch Dungeon Museum is a combination of historical theater and tour of a replica of the dungeons.

The actresses in the performance reenact actual documented arguments from the witch trials; and if that isn't disconcerting enough, the recreated dungeon tour is dark, claustrophobic, and disorienting.

This is near the train station; so I'd recommend either doing this first, or last, on your itinerary for the day.

So it’s a museum but starts with a small play about the witch trails. Nicely done, just wish we had more time to take pictures of the downstairs, it seemed a little rushed. They walked you through and you were able to ask all sorts of questions. Our guide was very informative.

We were very interested in checking this out and I'm glad we did! The showtimes run every 30 minutes so when we got there, we waited in the gift shop for the theater to open up which gave us time to shop. Once we got inside of the theater, we waited about 5 minutes and the show started. The show was about 10 minutes and the actors did a wonderful job. After the reinactment, we went to the dungeon. If you have kids, I would recommend skipping this only because the dungeon has some graphic images that would be too scary for them. The dungeon had different sized cells and showed use of devices they used to torture people into confessing. They had a piece of wood from the original dungeon of the witch trials and the tour guide told us facts that we didn't know before, like the accused had to pay for their accommodations in jail. Once the tour is over, you have to go up a flight of stairs to either exit to the street or the gift shop. If you are a into history or the witch trials, I would highly recommend checking this out!

Very informative, and always has an amazing performance before your guide leads to you to the museum. The atmosphere is very eerie and really helps sell the experience that the accused felt during the Witch Trials. All in all, very fun and well put together! (P.S. don't touch the beam, its cursed!)

A great experience, a great reenactment of a trial.
Friendly staff, well versed, well educated.
This is not a display of torture instruments, it's deeper info.

Enjoy the show, the displays and the gift shop; and if you can there is a tip box at the end.

The Witch Dungeon Museum was more than what I initially expected. You walk in and take a seat in an old timey court room where you watch a reenactment of what might have happened during the Salem Witch Trials. After this, you are taken downstairs to the dungeon, there are many examples of how people of that time were treated after being accused of practicing witch craft.

I like this place because it starts with a historic explanation of the times, followed by a mock trial performance. Then you take a tour of the dungeon in the basement. They also have a great little shop. Worthy the wait and the visit.

We really enjoyed the reenactment and dungeon tour. The actors did a great job portraying the trial, and our guide through the dungeon was incredibly knowledgeable. We felt like we learned a lot, not just about the witch trials but about what was happening in the Salem area during that time, socially, politically, and environmentally. The cost of the tour was reasonable and brought the witch trials to life for us. If you're in Salem and want to experience history first hand, check out this museum.

Educational and entertaining. Great reenactment and self-guided tour of the dungeon. It's a bit dark and could be scary for small children. 👻

I would recommend visiting.

It starts with a play style introduction to the Salem with Trials. Most of it is monolog but does have a few additional actors that chime in. After the introduction you then get the walking tour and some scenes depicting how actual jails where and how prisoners where kept.
Its not too long but not short and keeps you entertained.

I really enjoyed this place! Nice to sit down and learn things during their reenactment and was very cool touring the dungeon replicas afterward seeing how atrocious some had to live locked up during those times. Well worth the money for this place.

Made it! Main hostess was from Kansas and I can’t remember her name. She was exceptionally talented and drew us into the story with history and humor. Reenactment actors were so strong and I was transfixed. Realism of the dungeon was spooky and sad. Of all the possible sites in Salem I’m so glad to have had this experience. Must go!!!!

Very cool place to get a historical reenactment of the Salem witch trials, it was reasonably priced and it was only like 30 minutes. They had a play and then a tour of the dungeon in the basement. It was remarkable how things happened there in those times and the after effects of it today creating the Salem we know and love.

I very much enjoyed the actors portrayals and the scenes in the dungeon. This really brought home what it must have been like for the poor women and men (and 2 dogs!) Accused. Be sure to tip your guide! We nearly missed the gratuity box on the way out!
