The Derby Restaurant & Bar

Stopped in here for drinks after dinner. Customer service was great as soon as we walked in. The bar tenders were on point too. Great food and drink selection here. And the bar tenders were more than willing to figure out how to make a drink if they hadn't heard of it before. The atmosphere was lively and the crowd was good too. Definitely recommend coming here if in Salem. Great spot for a gathering.

The Derby had awesome music, food, and service. Chris took really great care of us and made suggestions for places to go when we told him what we were looking to do. The food was delicious. I personally like smaller shrimp, but the flavor combinations were super unique; I've never had a fried jalapeño before and it was/is scrumptious. The drinks were perfectly made and we went back the next day to have another drink and settle between exhibit appointments.

Came to the restaurant after a wrestling tournament…. Place was fantastic! Our waitress Jenna provided the best service! Our drinks and food came out so fast it was unbelievable! Even more impressive being a Friday evening. The portions were huge and the food was some of the best we’ve had! The manager even made rounds to check on each table! I highly recommend this place for both quality and service!

Server was a really friendly. Great place if you're just looking for some laid-back apps and nothing too fancy but something above fast food. Definitely a great place if you're into watching sports. They had a big outside area which was great in the fall. The nachos are huge! The chicken tenders also tasted homemade and were so amazing.

Great place a block from city center in Salem. Solid drink selection. Very inventive cocktails. The angry shrimp and bacon fat Biscuits were excellent appetizers. The owner goes out of his way for his customers and staff.

After our tour ended around 9p on a Wednesday evening, we were looking for some food. Initially chosen due to its late (early morning? Lol) closing time, we were pleasantly surprised by the food, drinks, service, and atmosphere! My husband got a pasta dish that he absolutely loved and my salad and chowder were great, too. The pumpkin bread pudding was to die for, and when I couldn’t decide on a pumpkin beer, our sever pointed out their most popular (which I ended up thoroughly enjoying). If we are ever in Salem again, we will be back!! Also for my Hocus Pocus lovers- they have Winnifred’s book on display at the bar!

Really fun, casual place with excellent food. I highly recommend the Che Che Che Cheese Steak (the fried pickles are a nice touch). Joe was my server and he was excellent!

The food, cocktails and atmosphere were so great that I ate brunch twice there in one weekend. The service both times was excellent as well.

My group ordered the Derby, eggs Benedict and avocado toast. The portions were generous and pricing was reasonable for the quality and amount of food.

The brunch cocktail list was creative and the drinks were extremely tasty.

A bookcase of board games and a darts board offer you something to do while you wait or hang out there.

Very cool bar! Went in for some bar food and drinks and it did not disappoint. Kitchen closes and bar stay open so we barely made it but everyone was really cool. The bar was crowded but we got a good table with no wait.

Me and my husband ordered from here and picked it up. We ordered around 6:30pm on a Saturday and we only had a 15-20 minute wait even though when we showed up the place as packed. I got the salmon dinner which was amazing! I also got their clam chowed which was really good. My husband got a burger and fries and he said it was a really good burger! We will definitely eat here again next time were in Salem.

Great place! The staff were so friendly and particular shout out to Doug the host who was so nice and welcoming and gave some great advice on hotspots in the area. The food was awesome, and lots to pick from- so we ended up going the next day too! Will definitely be back next time we are in Salem!

Our server, Dakota, was a pleasure to work with. He gave us solid recommendations and we loved everything we had. When we first walked in there was a silent and very grumpy man at the host stand. He blankly looked at us without speaking until we said "Hi we have 3 for dinner". He replied with "high or low seats" and then grumbled to his colleague to seat us. I think he was a manager and certainly did not make us feel welcome. This place still deserves 5 stars because of Dakota and OMG those nachos!

Great food and service! I had the poutine with fried chicken on top as an app and the Che Che Che Cheese Steak for my meal. The gravy on the poutine is delicious and brings all of the crispy pork belly and cheese curd flavors together very nicely. The cheese steak sub was very tender, cheesy and was topped with perfectly crisped spicy pickled peppers and enough shoe string fries for days (which are also lightly covered with cheese sauce) I washed it down with a couple of Cokes but for those looking for more they do have a big selection of craft beers and mixed drinks as well. The servers were always smiling and kept the table clear of unused plates and cups with the speed of a ninja. There's a small lot for parking diagonally across from the entrance and it's free after 6pm on weekdays. The menu puts a great twist on traditional comfort food and has a nice variety for most tastes so I'm sure you'll see something you like

Ordered the Cider and Calamari Salad.
Food was so delicious. Almost asked for more.
Atmosphere is loud on Saturdays, but it’s nice if you like the feel of being in a local bar.
Staff had smiles and was pleasant.

Definitely would come back and/or recommend.

Bartender Collin was awesome! Drinks made perfect & food was delish. Street corn nachos were so so so good one of my favs on the menu!

Our group absolutely loved this place. Brian was an excellent server and the good was top notch. I got the Vegetarian Lasagna, which has such intense flavor everyone tried it and loved it. Tuesdays are bottomless tacos, which were all delicious too. We're excited to go back and try more of their dishes :)

The menu was full of options that would all hit the spot, but the New England Clam chowder and steak tips were amazing. So much fun & great drinks too. We had been so satisfied with the flavors of our entrée & soups we had to leave room for dessert & we were happy we did. Amazing restaurant, really impressive. I'll think about this meal for weeks.

Stopped in for drinks and snacks while in Salem recently. We loved the drinks and atmosphere and our server was fantastic! We will be back!

Had dinner at this place tonight. Would highly recommend it, had the bbq pork belly burger it was delicious, definitely one of the tastiest burgers I have ever had , my wife had the apple pie as was not very hungry she said this was lovely and enjoyed it. The Salem lager is the best I have had on draft in the USA , all in great meal well worth a visit 👻🧙🙌

Extremely good food and the waiter was attentive as well.

Order the Chicken and Waffles while my fiancé order the Harvest Turkey wrap. The chicken wasn’t too flavorful, but the condiments served with it sufficed. For the appetizer we ordered Poutine Fries (first time hearing of this dish) really good.

The atmosphere was nice there was a live game with a friendly host. Id recommended going there if you’re looking for something to eat.
